2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

I am sure Lincoln is saying contine to drive since the dealers do not likely have the loaners needed.

I saw a post somewhere where apparently at least one dealer is working with Enterprise to line up loaner vehicles, though not sure on the details.

Just be aware some dealers have restrictions on their loaners. My Black Label dealer doesn’t allow their loaners to be driven out of state.

The loaner contact we were given stated that the loaner was not to be driven more than 50 miles from the dealership. However, I was upfront with everyone that I needed the loaner to drive to Houston (almost 300 mi).

I'm still not sure if they're going to force me to take the vehicle back after they've finished the inspections and servicing. They're doing 24B09 right now, bit really can't do anything else until they get parts and instructions.

We still have a car rental reserved for the trip, just in case.

2024 Hybrid Nautilus Reserve II. Had the car for about 3 weeks and was loving it. Then one morning the engine was making an odd low rumbling and the car would shake a bit. Wasn't dramatic enough to warrant concern, then later that day the tailpipe started spewing smoke with a strong burnt smell and the engine got really loud and clunky. We pulled over and had Lincoln Concierge tow the car to the dealer. Been there about 3 weeks and the communication from Lincoln has been horrendous. We go days without any communication from the service department, and when we do it's because I call. They promise follow up in a couple days....it never comes...I need to call back. Depending on who I talk to it's either "it's a new car and we're waiting on parts so they take longer" or "we had to escalate to corporate, we're waiting to hear back". Nobody has given me a clear explanation as to what happened and how it will be fixed so there are no future problems. I know they will rectify the issue, but the communication is the most frustrating. It seems very shady that get different responses and never get any follow up.

Has anyone else experienced this with the 2024 Hybrid (the engine issue, not the service issue).
Hi,

new to the group (Canada). I'm supposed to take delivery of my Nautilus Hybrid this coming weekend.
Should the dealers be releasing these vehicles (my VIN is on the list) until the new parts arrive/replaced.

The Canadian advance notice on this, sent out 1 May, has the same recommendation as the US (don't demo or deliver affected vehicles until there's a fix):

I'd suggest calling your dealer about this. Given we should be "pretty darn close" to when Ford/Lincoln release the Dealer Bulletin/parts ordering process, taking delivery now on a vehicle that you already know is flagged for this fix would be kind of iffy.

At least in the US, I've run across buyer reports of multiple dealers doing what I'd call the right thing - following the Ford recommendation, basically quarantining vehicles until the fix is formalized and applied.

'24 Hybrid owner here. Generally happy with the car (other than the annoying electronics reboots required now and then and the noise from the rear suspension (that is fixable, but I haven't gotten in to do it yet)). But if I were supposed to be buying my Nautilus this coming weekend, I would tell the dealer I would not be doing the deal until after the engine fix is done. One person on Facebook had the engine go out on them as they drove it off the dealer lot. Too big of a risk for me, if I wasn't already an owner.

For me, I continue to drive mine with my fingers crossed. It's my only vehicle and I'm not laying out the cash for a rental car. But I have cancelled plans to drive it from Pennsylvania to Florida and Pennsylvania to Virginia on trips in May and June. My friend who is also going on the trips will drive their car.

FYI, although I had the Customer Care Coordinator firmly on my side, the big guy at the dealership said no. They're dropping off our car this afternoon. I'll rent a car for the trip.

Sorry it turned out that way, but in this case reliable transport back and forth beats the cost of a rental.

Another one. We have 380 miles on the meter. Bought the Hybrid model in Cinci last saturday (5/3) and by tuesday I was on the side of the road and gas was leaking by the exhaust with the car not turning on. Def a fuel injector issue. We have opened a case with Lincoln Concierge. We did not even driven it 80 miles before this issue happened. Got a loaner car today. Will keep everyone updated.

I did not see anywhere that premium was even recommended for the hybrid engine.

So sorry for you. I'm curious if you know your build date? Or had you already confirmed you were on the injector list?

You have a good plan. I was hoping to hear your review of a longer drive in your Nautilus.

I just called my dealer to see if my VIN is on the list. I was told there isn’t a list and that they have only seen one car out of 150 sold come back with an issue. That car is just getting injectors. The engine is fine. Just a data point for everyone. Good luck.

The dealer saying they can't check for if it applies does not sound accurate.

Dealer staff on other sites have specifically talked about segregating out the vehicles whose VINs show they need the injector fix when a lookup was done, while some other hybrids apparently don't require it. People have provided screenshots of their phone Lincoln app showing 24B23 was called out (it tied to their VIN), and others have had their dealer tell them their vehicle is being held onto (not turned over) because their VIN is listed as needing the injector fix.

Check in your Lincoln phone app, see if you see CSP 24B23 listed for it. You can can also check online by going here and plugging your VIN in: https://www.lincoln.com/support/recalls/ (Thanks @swindler for the correct link!)

Here's another example, someone's results when they did a VIN check (in their case they had the engine catastrophic failure - Lincoln had flagged their VIN as needing a fix)

Interesting. Mine lists a number of potential issues but doesn’t show replacement or inspection in the outstanding categories. Certainly nothing like this.
