2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

Call the Lincoln corporate number. It’s been a process buy they are buying mine back. They are telling me I should get a check in two weeks. My service department received the replacement engine but have no idea when they will get hardware to install. You shouldn’t have to go through this with a brand new vehicle.

Has whatever that is causing these engines to self destruct been fixed in the replacements being sent out? Kinda sounds like they are just putting new motors of the same build in and hoping the same problem doesn’t happen again.
I too was wondering if this would merit a recall to prevent engine damage if a bad injector is encountered.

Recall has just been announced 24B23
I just sent an email to my local dealer to seek confirmation on whether this would be done prior to any new sales (proactive vs. reactive [waiting until someone's engine randomly goes belly-up])

Here’s the actual CSP notice I saw on the Ford Edge forum

So is this a full stop-sale for all FHEV Nautiluses or only for certain identified VINs?
Hi hinckley. Only for those produced during the time period specified in the CSP.

Good luck.

Oct 7, 23 - Feb 29, 24 production . . . that's gotta be just about all (if not, all) the FHEVs in the country, doesn't it?

I've got a non-hybrid, thank god!

I'd kind of expect so (all in the US at present), based on how long it takes to get from build in China to it actually being in the US. Plus, factor in the other post mentioning there was a hybrid production line stoppage - that likely happened effective April.

2024 Hybrid Nautilus Reserve II. Had the car for about 3 weeks and was loving it. Then one morning the engine was making an odd low rumbling and the car would shake a bit. Wasn't dramatic enough to warrant concern, then later that day the tailpipe started spewing smoke with a strong burnt smell and the engine got really loud and clunky. We pulled over and had Lincoln Concierge tow the car to the dealer. Been there about 3 weeks and the communication from Lincoln has been horrendous. We go days without any communication from the service department, and when we do it's because I call. They promise follow up in a couple days....it never comes...I need to call back. Depending on who I talk to it's either "it's a new car and we're waiting on parts so they take longer" or "we had to escalate to corporate, we're waiting to hear back". Nobody has given me a clear explanation as to what happened and how it will be fixed so there are no future problems. I know they will rectify the issue, but the communication is the most frustrating. It seems very shady that get different responses and never get any follow up.

Has anyone else experienced this with the 2024 Hybrid (the engine issue, not the service issue).
Just had the exact same experience after owning the car for three days. Dealer has had it for three days and we are being told “technician has not had time to look at it yet.

Looks like I will not be getting the car my dealer has tagged for me, which is in the country (Canada) but in transit to the dealer. Highly doubt this vehicle was built after Feb 29, bearing the delivery time lines .
shazbat!

I think that these are all going to be lemon law cars. I know it's state-depended, but most kick-in at 30-days out of service, and it looks like sourcing and installing a new engine is going to take longer than that. It sucks for those going thru this (understatement, I know), but I'd prefer to unwind my deal and figure out next steps rather than have a replacement engine installed in a new car.

There will be lots of demand now for the base 2.0 engine. As many people are buying the Hybrid on the assumption that it is a much better engine. It does have a smoother power delivery, yet many reviews have said that the base engine is very compliant for this vehicle. Only the fuel economy is said to be somewhat lacking.

I'm absolutely blown away by the smoothness and quietness of my little 250 hp non-hybrid engine.

I had the 2.0 in my 2019 Nautilus and actually liked it more than the 2.7 that I have in my current 2021. I originally ordered the Hybrid because I know that is the way of the future, and found it very seamless in power delivery and quiet. I may reconsider, as it appears I may not get this current car till June sometime earliest. And I did want a shiny new ride for the Spring and Summer.

I'm a hybrid owner. I didn't order it. I bought it off the lot. How do I find my build date?

Usually build date can be found on the drivers door sill, sometimes on door jamb, or B-post. Will show weight, capacities, tire size, etc. as well as build.
If you have a copy of your window sticker, you can see a date on that also.
