Corsair lead time

I don't know details, but when I placed the order I asked the salesman how Ford makes them "whole" when they do an A-Plan deal. He said he gets compensated the same as an employee, "but it's not so great for the dealership." I suspect they just get less profit. You would think Ford/Lincoln pays them the difference from what they sell it for to what MSRP is, but my uneducated guess is that it's basically a "neutral" transaction for the dealer where they sell it to me at invoice and lower margin AZ plan deals are just part of being an authorized dealer.

Hi 5DH. LOLOLOL...Take what that salesperson stated with a very large grain of salt. It is misleading at best, probably in a silly attempt to get people to feel sorry for poor old him/her and the Dealership. They couldn't gouge you, while they ask outrageous prices from their retail customers. Woah is me...;)

Without going into a long story...It is more complicated than the questionable (at best) explanation the salesperson gave you. It involves "spiff checks" from Lincoln/Ford and other compensation to the Dealership. And Dealers make a tidy profit for a simple, no-negotiations AXZD-Plan sale. It is quick and clean and profitable for them.

Before the pandemic induced shortages, Dealerships loved AXZD-Plan sales. It was a quick, clean sale with a known profit. The only reason they are limiting AXZD-Plan sales now is due to the fact that vehicles are in short supply. And since supply is low and demand is high, they can hold a gun to customers heads, charging MSRP and above. This would have been impossible before the pandemic and vehicle shortages.

AXZD-Plan sales are voluntary for Dealerships. And Dealerships make plenty of profit on AXZD-Plan sales, or they would not do them at all. But if they can gouge a customer for MSRP and above, of course that is what some would rather do.

Good luck. 🍻

Yup. On Monday (09/12/2023) I went to the Lincoln website and put my order together — for a 2023 Corsair GT. My local dealer then sent an acknowledgement email on Tuesday. The dealer is supposed to email the documents so I can e-sign them and pay the obligatory $500 deposit. Then I'll wait until January or February for delivery. The ICE 2023 Corsair production begins at the end of November. I'm not sure, but I guess GT production should begin sometime in December.

We'll see.
Today, I got my confirmation email from Lincoln. So now I start waiting again... but this time it will be for a '23 GT.

And my '22 GT (originally ordered in April 2022) is scheduled to arrive at a different dealership next week... and I'll refuse delivery. *sigh*

Was it just the email that begins "Your order has been confirmed." or was there something else?

Reason I asked, I think we placed our order on the same date (Sept 13). I got an email same-day from Lincoln but haven't gotten anything since. Or is it that your salesperson just took a week and a half to actually submit the order and mine was a bit faster?

Hey @5DH

I was busy with work so the initial emails between my dealer and me got tangled up. Since then, I straightened things out with my dealer — then I got the "Your order has been confirmed" email for the '23 GT.

Of course, I'm looking forward to the "Your vehicle is on its way" email like the one I just received for my '22 GT order.

Just to summarize, I currently have a '16 MKC that I've been very happy with. I have a '22 Corsair GT en route (that I will be refusing). I have a '23 Corsair GT that I just ordered last week.

In looking at these photos, the '23 Corsair grill appears much taller than the '22 Corsair grill — but actually, the functional opening seems to be about the same size.

Congratulations, @timsvt — it's beautiful. That's a really pretty color combination.

I ordered my '22 GT 4/1/22, it was built 9/16/22, and is scheduled to be delivered 10/4/22.

Even though I've already ordered a '23 GT, I'm eager to see my '22 GT... I've been waiting for so long. I want to see it before I refuse delivery.

My '22 Corsair GT was built 9/16/22. At first, its scheduled delivery date was 10/4/22. Now, its scheduled delivery date is 10/13/22. We'll see. At least it's built.

And of course, the dealership then needs a day or two for detailing and preparation before I can see it. *sigh*

Ordered a fully optioned out including Trailer Tow 4/27 with verbal promise of 10-12 weeks, this was from worlds largest Lincoln store and they definately are the worlds largest no deny , and their promise was based on the "pull" they have with getting pushed to front of line. Well obviously their "pull" has not applied in this case, because the delivery would have been late July 22 and it 1st got scheduled for Sept, then pushed twice in October, to now a third push and not even a new week assigned this time.

I bought my '22 Reserve I 201A from Fiesta Lincoln in Phoenix AZ. They were very easy to deal with over phone and email and offered MSRP (a but lower with a rebate, and 0% ) without any forced extras. This was back in March/April. They currently show several Corsairs in stock and several on the way. At least one GT showing as Dealer ordered.

Just an FYI to friends on the forum. Nothing for me, just offering this info. It might be worth a visit to AZ and some sightseeing while you pick up a new Corsair! (let me know if you do head here as I would love to meet.)

We have a VIN and build week is showing as October 24th. (The last week of MY22 production)...talk about sliding in under the wire.
The vehicle is showing as in production as of this morning. Can't wait for my 2.3 to meet her new GT sister.

Cool. It should take about 3 weeks to arrive. Your sales rep can look at an internal system that says exactly what stage in production and where it is on the journey to the dealer.

placed order for a reserve on Nov 6. nov 17 received email that it was placed in line for production for the week of jan 9. that is monday and we have not been told otherwise.

Hi Zandyali. I ordered my Corsair GT form Bob Boyd Lincoln in Columbus, OH. Even though I provided my email at the time of the order I never received anything from Lincoln. I tracked my order via the Lincoln order tracking site. I have heard others say they contacted the Lincoln concierge and were able to get updates in that manner.

I do know Louisville Assembly where the Corsair is built has seen some downtime and shift reductions due to the microchip shortages.

I just ordered my Corsair Grand Touring from Bob-Boyd in Columbus on January 3rd. I received my confirmation email from Lincoln. The sales manager thought it would probably be built sometime in March.

My wife ordered her 23 reserve on 9/22, She has received email indicating build to start Monday but when you follow link to build process it has changed from in production to order confirmed. Confused because window sticker has been posted. Not sure when her car will be built

From what I'm seeing in this thread of messages, 2023 Corsair non-GT models have VINs issued and have projected production weeks of January 9.

For whatever reason (supply chain issues? production prioritization?) the 2023 Corsair GT models have not been issued a VIN nor have any been issued a production week.

Since they're built at the same production facility, I'm guessing there's a similar disparity in the Ford Escape ICE and PHEV models. Has anyone heard anything different? I'm sure it will be a while before any of these 2023 models (Ford or Lincoln) will be showing up at dealerships.

I agree. Based on the '22 GT order that was placed in Feb 2022 and has yet to be delivered, I won't hold my breath waiting for my '23 GT order. 🤯
