Hi I have both a 22 Aviator GT and a 22 Corsair GT. The Aviator locks automatically when I walk away from it but the Corsair doesn’t. Any ideas ? Thanks!
How did you know your Aviator does that when it does not seem to be in that manual? Maybe it is not supposed to that? Or, does it unlock again as you approach? Seems like a potential for a lot of lock/unlock cycles.Yep. I asked because it’s not in the manual
I know the Aviator does it because when I walk away the mirror fold in, indicating it is locked. The Corsair only folds in the mirrors when I actually press the lock button on the key.How did you know your Aviator does that when it does not seem to be in that manual? I see. Mine does well on my Nav, but I have to tap the sensor on the door handle. To clarify, you are saying you don't have to do that on your Aviator and the doors lock, anyway?I know because the mirrors fold close on the Aviator when I walk away from it. Doesn't do that on the Corsair.
Who? Me?Cool, I hadn't heard of that feature. Wonder if my '20 Nav does that.
Cue @jkeaton with "check the Owners Manual".![]()

I checked and did not see this feature. Google Fu yields no results either. (Actually, Duck Duck Go-Fu lol)Hi harley. As others have stated, I am not aware of any Lincoln that auto-locks merely by walking away from the vehicle.
Just as they do not auto-unlock just by approaching the vehicle. You must press the unlock button on the keyfob, touch the door handle, use PAAK etc.
I'll take a look in the 2022 Corsair and Aviator Owner Manuals when I have a chance.
Not saying it is impossible, but I am not aware of it.
Good luck.
I have it on my MKZ, but its not automatic like that. Once I lock the doors, it AUTO folds the mirrors. I'll check.
I thought i read it wrong lol. Thanks.Hi kingdre. Yes, what you are describing is normal behavior when the side-view mirror autofold feature is enabled. When you lock the doors with the keyfob the mirrors will fold. Or if you lock the doors with the outside touch door handle, the mirrors will fold. Or if you lock the doors with the inside door lock buttons and then close the door, the mirrors will fold when you close the door.
However that is not what the OP is discussing. The OP is saying their Aviator automatically locks when they walk away from the vehicle, without them having to do anything other than walk away. That is a feature not known up to this point.
Our Lincoln vehicles do not have a known (to this point in time) autolock feature that will lock the doors, just by walking away from the vehicle with no button pushes on something.
Good luck.
I know this topic is a bit old now, but I just discovered something today. I am a long-time user of FORScan, and was testing a new version today on our 2022 Corsair. Buried down in all the options was a set of parameters for auto locking when walking away. I believe there was one for each user profile and one for the vehicle overall. All were set to disabled.Hi I have both a 22 Aviator GT and a 22 Corsair GT. The Aviator locks automatically when I walk away from it but the Corsair doesn’t. Any ideas ? Thanks!
Nice. where is that option? I'd like to set it so I dont have to manually lock or press the button each time. I dont press the keyfob to unlock it either.I know this topic is a bit old now, but I just discovered something today. (I have no interest in messing with *anything* on this car until something breaks.)
Just FYI.
What? You mean to say you are not interested in new features just because Lincoln defaulted them to be disabled? That may be a wise "Opt-In" way for manufacturers to introduce some new things, but like my dad's recent discovery on his 8 month old VW Arteon he had a wireless charging pad and wireless CarPlay connection when I set my iPhone on the pad; he never would have seen it using his old Samsung without the inductive charging feature. Now he has a new iPhone that is making his driving life much easier... That's another "new" feature for 2022 Lincoln's, but not quite enough to get me to trade up from a 2021 Corsair, just yet - I'll still hook up the USB cable for now. Besides my local dealer like many doesn't have much in that model year yet to sell.I know this topic is a bit old now, but I just discovered something today. King, I completely agree. Just downloaded the 2022 Corsair manual, and like 2021 it's not described there anywhere in the manual, and I did more than just search on it, I read the entire Locking and Unlocking section. Perhaps it's only available to users with the Forscan tool? We shall see.Nice. where is that option? I'd like to set it so I dont have to manually lock or press the button each time.
