My 2019 nautilus battery keeps going dead. I took it to the garage, they “worked “ on it all day. Only thing they came up with was, was to install a new battery . That hasn’t fixed the problem. Any ideas on what’s draining the battery? Any one else having this issue?

I can say my 2020 Nav has had software issues and missing items from the instrument cluster. I didn't realize that until driving a loaner Nav. Anyway, the tech found a bad battery cell and replaced it. Not sure what would have caused a bad cell.

Thank you for your response.

Hi Denise. When you say "I took it to the garage", are you referring to the Service Department at your Lincoln Dealership?

Yes, the Lincoln dealer where I bought it. They said the put it on the computer to check the system. So, after finding nothing, they replaced the battery. I went to start the car last night, it wouldn’t turn over. There is nothing, the light doesn’t even come on when opening the door. This is exactly what happened the last time. The battery is totally dead. My husband put it on the charger this morning.

Hi Denise. Call the Service Department and tell them what happened and that you are still having a dead battery issue and stranded with no dependable vehicle.

Make a service appointment and arrange for a complementary loaner. Then either drop off your Nautilus or have them come drop off your loaner and pick up your Nautilus to properly diagnose the battery drain issue.

Something is draining the battery. Unless they discover a defective battery again this time (highly unlikely), they will probably need to keep it at least overnight to properly diagnose a battery drain problem.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Thank you, I will do that!

I have never used the "Scheduled Starts" feature of my Lincoln Way app. I normally garage my car, heated flooring, and drive daily. I do travel, though, and while I'm on trips, I can see that being a useful feature to help keep the battery charged.

Has anyone utilized this feature?

"Scheduled starts" isn't an option for me. That could be a problem if the car is kept in a garage. Fortunately, I'm not having any battery problems.

Right. I wouldn't do it if the vehicle is in my garage, but when it is sitting at the airport for 2-4 days, it could come in handy.

I'm surprised your app does not have that.

My Lincolns are '13. and '17 models. I have the Lincoln app, but don't see scheduled starts on it. I wouldn't use it anyway. My cars are garaged, and when I leave one at the airport, it's the '13.

Oh, okay. My Nav is a 2020, so perhaps that is the difference.

They kept my car for a week. They said they let it sit. Dealership sss as I’d there is nothing wrong, the car started right up. Today I get in my car, absolutely dead, won’t even turn over. It’s to the point that I’m not comfortable driving the set, on the rare occasion that it does start. I’m worried that I arrive at my destination, then when I’m ready to come home, the car won’t start. What does it take to have the car labeled a lemon?

Hi Denise. You have complementary loaner car service with your 2019 Lincoln. Immediately call the Dealership, tell them what happened, have them send a flatbed to take your car back and leave you a loaner. I understand this is frustrating to the max, but that is the best course of action at the moment.

Arbitration and Lemon Law procedures are outlined in the Warranty Guide you were given when you purchased, if you purchased new.

If you do not have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/resources/owner-manuals/

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Sounds like the dealer is a little short on tech knowledge. They can clamp a meter on the positive battery cable and read the battery drain live, then just start pulling fuses one by one until a drop in drain is read on the meter, then track down that circuit to find the culprit which is probably a bad module (computer) somewhere - these cars have over hundreds of them - they even use a computer to operate your windshield wipers.

I Just got off the phone with the dealership. Basically, they told me that all the testing was normal, by Lincoln protocol standards. They said I need to drive it more than 15 minutes, in order to keep the electrical system charged. I told them that I do drive it more than that. The service department manager told me that I could bring it up again, and they can put it on the draw monitor again. He told me the care needs to be driven more than every 2-3 days, in order to keep it charged. I told him that I really don't agree. I told him that a $60,000, car, bought new in 2019,, should start and not have these issues. I told him that ,what if you go on vacation and leave the car in the airport parking lot for 14 days, which we have with our other cars. This issue has been going on close to a year now. My expectation is for the car to start, so you mean to tell me that this car would be dead when we arrived back at the airport, because it hasn't been driven more than every 2-3 days? He had no answer for me. Actually, he had no answer for any of my cars issues. So I left it as I'm going to talk to my husband and figure out what our next step will be. I was thinking of call the Lincoln Company's customer service.
