What are your likes and dislikes concerning the Lincoln Corsair?

Hi Sharbotcom. Yes, that was the point we were making. The voice controls being discussed work (and are supposed to work) in SYNC 3/3.4/4 Lincolns, but for some reason are not working in yours.

EDIT- Silly question, but better safe than sorry...You stated "Set temperature 25". Is your SYNC system set to Celsius/metric? If not, that may/would be the cause of the issue. Again, this is all assuming some programming change was not made to the voice commands in the latest SYNC 3.4 updates.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
I'm in Canada so 25 was Celsius 😀.

It never worked even before the latest Sync update, hence my assumption it didn't work for all of us. I'm bring this up tomorrow with my service manager.

Hi Sharbotcom. Again that is the point. Yes, already saw that your profile states you are in Canada. However, unlike SkyNet, your Corsair is not "self-aware". ;)
Therefore, the SYNC system needs to be physically set to Celsius/metric. That was the reason for the question. :ROFLMAO:
It may have seemed like a silly question, but the SYNC system controls need to be physically set your so SYNC system is programmed for Celsius/metric. Otherwise, if still set to Fahrenheit, the system can not follow a voice command of 25C, since 60F/LOW is the minimum.

EDIT- For example: my MKZ is set to Fahrenheit. If I give a voice command of "Set temperature to 25", it will not work, because the Climate Control system can not set itself to 25F.

If your SYNC system is set to Celsius/metric, the discussion point is moot. But the question needed to be asked.

Hope that makes things a bit more understandable.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

It is set to Celsius and metric. When you look at the video, you can see the current temperature is set to 22.5 Celsius at the top of the Sync screen. BTW I do appreciate the need for the question because sometimes the silliest things get overlooked 😀

Hi Shrbotcom. Okay, that answers the question and eliminates a Celsius/Fahrenheit programming issue. 🤗

Let us know how your Dealer visit works out and good luck.

I have a 22 GT on order (blend date of last Wednesday) that is fully loaded with all options as my current 22 2.3 Reserve, and it will be interesting to do a feature comparison between them to see what I'm missing on the 2.3. Every time I turn around, it appears something else was left off.

On that, have you tried another person speaking the command? Sometimes certain voice patterns can confuse the system. Canadian accent, eh?

I tried speaking American but she still couldn't understand me😉.

Hi Sharbotcom. How is your American voice? Much of an accent? Your American writing is pretty good. I almost would not know you are Canadian. ;)

Good luck. 🍻

I have to constantly change all of my zeds to zees, and drop the odd "u" (color vs. colour) to keep the disguise up. 🤣

Lol…. my wife says the same thing. 😅

Actually, I was being serious. It would be interesting to see if another voice has the same or different response In your car.

Unforetunately my wife tried it with the same result.

I liked the style and the seats are comfortable. The rattles have bugged me from the first week. They are everywhere. Under the hood, door panels, trim pieces, liftgate cover, heat shields, fake lens covers, etc. The three loaner Corsairs I had while the dealer spent weeks trying to stop the noise was as bad or worse if the road wasn't perfectly smooth. As I finally am getting the rattles out, it is becoming a quiet ride. I liked the roller shade style cargo cover of my Escape better than the fixed cardboard of the Corsair. I wish I could have gotten a CD player option. The navigation system only shows streets if I am zoomed in. If I zoom out a few levels, all the streets disappear and only a few highways are left. I took the liners out of the wheel wells and under the floor boards to have the car undercoated, and I was shocked at how many places barely had paint or even primer. I find the shifting is more noticeable than I would like. It took almost a week to fix the software when the navigation quit. Today, the interior foot well lights and ambient lighting stopped working. Overall, I have more buyers remorse, than pride of ownership.
I easily added a CD player. It fits nicely in the glove box and wires into the USB ports in the dash. Took no more than 15 minutes to install myself. I'm adding one to a buddy's Corsair GT in a few weeks. I order them off eBay. Just search for CD player for Lincoln Corsair.

I love the looks, the ride, and the seats are fine for me.
What I don't like is the intermittent failure of the auto start/stop. 2nd. a bit to much wind noise, and the road noise is worse. Its not a quiet automobile.
Does anyone know if aftermarket sound proofing is available?
Wow. I have a 22 GT and find this car incredibly quiet. I don't hear a thing. Yes, there is sound proofing available. Crutchfield as well as Amazon sell it in a roll and it can easily be installed by yourself as it sticks under the plastic stuff surrounding the tire area. I'll post a picture of this stuff.

I don't like how noisy mine is either. On smooth roads it's fine but when the roads get rough I get a lot of tire noise, creaks and rattles. The wind noise on the hwy is a lot more than I would expect too. I guess if you came from a Honda or Toyota product the corsair seems quite, definitely not up to par with Lexus, GM, BMW, etc.

The question about squeaks and rattles -- and ride - is - how many miles are on it, which rim size (17 -> 20 available), stock tires?
Could that be making it worse?

Yes, I have been noticing that the engine has been kicking in far too often when in PURE EV mode.

I don't know your weather conditions, but to be fair, it has been cold here in NJ and I look at this as a cold-weather interference.

What I find myself doing to get back to PURE EV is simply pressing the mode button again to remind the engine what mode I want to be in.

I live in Oregon and found the engine definitely comes on much more often when its cold . I suspect that because one of the electric motor is used to drive the rear wheels the vehicle is programed to save some battery capacity for use during all wheel drive mode. The gas engine also comes on when the battery is fully charges and I'm coasting down hill ("brake assist")

My morning commute is about 6 miles and in warm weather I can drive both ways using 90%-100% pure EV. When temps are in the 20s or 30s pure EV usage is more like 25%. I find that changing the mode selector doesn't turn off the gas engine but some things that do are, turning the SUV off and back on at stop lights, costing down hill in neutral and keeping light pressure on the accelerator. As a test I have applied light pressure on the accelerator while braking going down hill and the engine doesn't come on (that sound was the noise of my dad rolling in his grave).

I do wish Lincoln gave us more control as to when the engine comes on.

Interesting. We have a 22 Cadillac CT5 and I find that much more noisy ride than the 22 GT. My car is silent most of the time. We have pretty nice roads here in Northern Virginia so I never ride on bad roads. I am amazed at how quiet the car is compared to every other Ford or GM car we have owned. Not sure what to say other than mention it to the service guy if you can pinpoint exactly what is rattling. You'd need to have a couple people ride with you and they can list out the noisy parts. Not sure what to say on highway noise as I have taken a few long distance trips and the ride is fine with me as I really don't hear wind noise when I ride. Perhaps have the service guy take a look at the seals around the doors. Maybe they have come loose or off the rail. My buddy just took delivery this week of a similar GT as mine and he came from the Audi world after 30 years. He found the Corsair incredibly quiet compared to his Audi cars (he has one company car and one personal). He is giving up the personal car to get the Corsair and he's similarly blown away by the silence and sound proofing. He loves the sound system as well. He also commented that the Lincoln dealer (Ted Britt Lincoln) has been incredibly supportive. He was blown away with getting updates from Lincoln and emails and calls by the Lincoln management along the 4 month wait. He said Audi never treated him as well as Lincoln has so far. I have to agree that Ted Britt has been fantastic the entire way. I have been a customer there for 35 years but this was my first Lincoln and I have been very pleased at their support.

So, I'd be leaning on the dealer or get another dealer to take a look at noisy things you can identify. Your experience should be the same as mine I say.
