2024 Nautilus Reserve I
Hi everyone. I have the 2024 Nautilus and so far I've been using CarPlay with it. Generally, I use Waze for my navigation. It shows up in the center touch screen but it's completely blank in the 48" display. I wanted to see if others were experiencing the same. Google Maps and Apple Maps show up no problem but not Waze. Thanks!

Currently Waze will only show up in center touch screen. Hoping future software updates will allow Waze to show up in dashboard display.

Although Waze is now owned by Google which designed the Android Auto system used in new Nautilus, the possible rationale is by appearing only on the 11" touch screen, the driver can tap the various alerts for accidents, police, hazards, etc. which is big part of the crowd-sourced data that makes Waze so popular.

I have not tested this, but someone pointed out on Facebook that they were able to get Waze on the upper display screen when they installed Waze on to the car's Google Apps screen. In other words NOT using it with Apple CarPlay (where Waze is installed on your iPhone) or Android Auto (where Waze is installed on your Android phone). Install it directly to the car's apps. Then run it from the car's app screen. Do not run Waze from inside CarPlay or Android Auto.

I tried this myself and Waze still not show up on the upper screen. I’m not sure how the Facebook user got it to work. I will live with it on the lower screen. I only use Waze occasionally anyway.

Thanks for checking. Maybe a software update from Waze in the future will get it to work? They’re rolling out a bunch of new features.

Agree. I also downloaded Waze from Google and it did not appear on the dashboard. Having said that, RetiredGuy’s comment above makes sense as to why it would not be displayed on dashboard.

I test drove a '24 Nautilus today and checked out this very issue. Waze displayed on the center screen and what I believe was the native Google Map displayed in the 48" screen. Is that what everyone else is seeing?

I’m a huge fan of WAZE & highly recommend it. Been using this NAV app exclusively since it first became avail. It’s saved me from hrs tied up in traffic by rerouting me around it, helped avoid collisions w/debris on rds, gets me to destinations on time by setting arrival time & notifying me when to leave & has saved my butt from getting speeding tickets a time or two (they don’t call it an Aviator for nothing 😂). It’s the only reason I use Carplay.

I couldn't agree more, but I've found that if you're running Waze in the center display, you're very limited on nav apps that will simultaneously run up on the 48" display. I've just posted in another thread that while running Waze in the center display, the only effective nav app that you can run in the larger display is native Google Maps.

I've had WAZE on my iPhone for many years now. I've tried to use it a few times but couldn't really figure it out. It sounds like a few of you here have figured it out. Where can I go to get knowledgeable enough to use it and get the joy it appears a lot of you have using it?

Is there a YouTube or somewhere to get smarter?

Thanks in advance.

Waze is incredible for both police and road hazard alerts. Also, its real-time traffic data makes it the best for navigation imo. Whenever Waze seems to be navigating me in a crazy direction, I remember my mantra, "In Waze We Trust." With that said, what is it that you can't figure out? I'm happy to convert another user if I can.

We'll take it off-line to a conversation so we don't pollute this thread. Thanks

My 2022 Aviator only has 1 display so not a prob for me (thank God). I’d be lost w/o WAZE!

100% (In WAZE we trust)… WAZE directed us on a diff route the other day & I reminded my husband ‘Always trust in WAZE. It knows what we don’t’! Later found out Hwy was closed due to fatal accident. I wish Google would ditch google maps & all the car Navs would have WAZE.

Remember that Google owns Waze (or rather, Alphabet does). You're likely to see more of it's features migrate to Google Maps in the coming releases. It's already pretty reactive to traffic incidents, but doesn't have the level of community support for radar traps and whatnot.

And to be clear for everyone. Waze has not developed their app to support running on the panoramic display. It runs on the center console, as most apps will. But only Google Maps and Apple Maps have developed their apps to operate on the extended display. In the future, more apps will be available, but the company will still have to develop support for the 48" display.

Unfortunately, Google has stated that they have no plans to integrate Google Maps and Waze.
