Town Car Photo Gallery

What a great looking car. Seems outstanding condition.
Thanks, I'd say it's very well preserved for a 35 year old but not outstanding and I like it that way. I have had a couple of garage queens in my past that I never took out 'cause they might get scratched or even worse...get extra miles to the odo

Hi guys, just registered here and I thought I'd share my Town Car that I bought a few weeks ago from Sweden and imported it to Finland, since I have a question someone might be able to answer but first about the car.

It's '89 town car "gold edition" with 48k miles in the odo. It was imported to Sweden in 2018 from the US and that's about all I know about the history. The question I have is about the "gold edition". I haven't found any info of It from the internet so far. All the emblems are gold, It has a "gold edition" emblem in the trunk lid, no opera windows and a sunroof (not functioning though, atleast yet). So if you guys have any info of this particular edition, I would really appreciate it.

Why I bought It? Well, I have always liked these last proper (and by this I mean the boxy styled and designed with a ruler) American sedans made in the 80's. I had been looking for either one of these or a caprice for quite a while but not that seriously. Then I broke my leg on a snow mobile and suddenly had more time to browse for these over the internet and I came across with this and here we are. It was around 9k in usd and since Europe in general is not full of these I went ahead and bought It.

From everything I can find, there was no sanctioned "Gold Edition" for that generation, or any generation for that matter. Might just be some dealer added stuff from when it was sold new. I've seen dealers do their own "Special Edition" type of thing all the time. I could be wrong though.

Yup, that is logical. Since this is a '89 and a completely new body design coming out maybe a dealer that had this or these tried to boost the sales with "gold edition" to get them off the yard.

A lot of car dealers had a South West Edition back then.
Mostly pin striping and special tires.
Many be some trim.

That South West Edition could be seen on Lincolns and Cadillacs of the era. Not a factory deal.

Seems like a PITA to me
If I can’t upload pictures from my phone here, I might find another forum where I can

All the forums have some type of limits/restrictions..
Your phone should have an editor app to be able to adjust the size down.
If not, there are apps in the store that are free.
It only take an extra couple of seconds to reduce it down for posting

Here's my '06 Signature I picked up in June. My 3rd Town Car (previously had a '79 and '89) and 4th Panther. This one replaced an '00 MGM LS that crossed the Rust Bridge at 242k after over 11 years of being dailied. After 10 years in a '92 CV LX and the Merc, I figured it was time for a Town Car.

Found the car on Facebook Marketplace about 2 hours north of me. Guy was selling it for his older retired brother that didn't do online stuff and wanted something easier to get his golf clubs in and out of. Car was better and cleaner than pictured in the ads with 98k on the odometer. Car is stupid clean having only spent summers in Wisconsin. Great asking price, seller even knocked a few hundred off. Great experience, nothing shady, absolutely no BS.

Absolutely love this car! I had forgotten how quiet Town Car's are and the rack and pinion is a nice upgrade, IMO. It's great to be back in a Lincoln.

Nice looking ride....this is my 06 Sig Ltd. Had it for 7 years now, best car I've ever owned. Mine too was an online purchase, an estate sale, original owner, garage queen, had 50K miles when I bought it. It now has 130K miles and other than routine maintenance and the known panther issues it's been a flawless vehicle for me.
