The AI car renderings are getting better... That WOULD be a cool halo car for Lincoln. It would likely do for it what the NSX did for Acura. But an incredibly niche market...Nice concept vehicle. Too bad Lincoln wouldn't venture into the supercar realm.
I bet that would take on the McLaren P1
Right, I don't think anybody would expect Lincoln to actually build this... But we can dream!I wonder how a $100,000 Lincoln Coupe would sell in this market?
MSRP for the highest priced 2026 Mustang in a dealership is $80,000+
Playing in six figure land is competing against brands and models that have a lot of history.
Benz, BMW, Lexus and more
As to Super Coupes like the McLaren, which is a seven figure car. That dream would be in a pipe for the current Ford management team. Unless you are thinking about a next version Ford GT.
Low production sports cars are not what Ford Motor Company is currently about. The exception is the Ford GT of recent years. And this serious 6 figure car was built in Canada by a private company under contract. Ford builds a thousand or so copies and stops for a time. There is a race only version (Ford GT IV) that will be sold for 7 figures. Overall this model has some history. A Lincoln coupe does not have the same.
Ford has already gone down the road of limited production coupes sold at the dealerships in the old LM Sales Division - Pantera, imported Capri, Probe, Merkur. The results were disappointing to say the least.
But I guess dreaming doesn't cost that much.
