My Lincoln
2019 Nautilus Reserve FWD
Just got a 2019 Nautilus with 77k miles on it. Beautiful car, love it. I'm getting what might be described as a shudder or vibration, almost feels like it's hesitating, mostly at low speeds (under 30 mph), when I'm lightly accelerating. I've seen that there's been a TSB for a reprogramming of the PCM that's meant to solve this condition. Anyone who's had this experience? I would like to hear your real-world experience if you have. Thanks in advance!

The reprogramming didn't fix mine. Cost was about $170.

Does it feel like a bucking stick shift for a second? the 8F57 is known to have bad torque converters. You will get a poor lockup at around 25-30mph. You can feel a buck and a hesitation. The dealer can test it by disabling torque converter lockup and test driving to see if it goes away.

Yeah, same here. Seems it's what I hoped it wouldn't be... torque convertor. Which always means transmission replace or rebuild. Sigh...

Yep. Yep.

And the thing is, it should be a recall but instead, will cost thousands

What's the TSB ID on this one? I think I'm going to have the same issue on my 2019 Nautilus (101k miles).

Yeah, mine either. I was several reflashes behind, but it turned out to be the torque convertor. Transmission replacement fixed it. Cha-ching.

Torque converter issue requires whole new trans? Does this affect 2.0 and 2.7 equally? and any improvements in later years? When I test drove my first Nautilus, it felt poor in shifting (salesperson felt it too) so I skipped it! It was a 2019 also. I like my 2021 but only time will tell. Still considering whether I will extend my CPO warranty...

Only if it comes apart or potentially sends material through the front pump. The lockup solenoid issue should not unless its run like that for an excessive amount of time and causes premature clutch wear. Mine was under warranty and only required a new torque converter.

I have a 2010Lincoln Nautilus and I'm having hesitation problems too feels like a bog bog bog feeling when accelerating. I changed the transmission fluid three times. I changed the spark plugs. I changed the ignition coils. I changed the air filter. The only thing that helped a little is when I change the high pressure fuel pump but it still does it a little.

Thats not a direct injection engine so no separate high pressure pump. The fuel system should run around 50psi. No MIL or stored codes?

This is the correction from my previous post I have a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus not a 2010.

Correction it's a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus

Ahh ok.
Still definitely check for codes. Bogs can be caused by a lot of things.

No codes. My code reader just says 8 ready
Ok thats good.. maybe.
Can you describe the bog? Have you recorded a full pedal 0-60 run? Does it always do it or just occasionally?
the 8F57 trans has some pretty terrible shift logic along with some very low torque targets in 1st and 2nd gear. My Edge ST would occasionally bog bad if i tried to jump from a quick stop. Almost as if I was holding the brake simultaneously (fuel cutoff).

It sounds like a broken Trumpet. And hesitates , like on a scale from 1 to 10 considering power wise, when it bogs, i say a 2 then it picks up slowly I think it happens only after second gear and on the highway like when I slow down and I need to pick up speed again fast it bogs and no power. I changed spark plugs, coils, transmission fluid 3 times, and the high pressure fuel pump. Someone told me to do a boost check. But I think it might be the torque converter i don't know. I'm going to try to change the transmission fluid a couple of more times because it keeps coming out really cloudy. Maybe that would help but I don't think so. Plus it bucks occasionally like if it's a manual transmission.
