Progress of my 2004 while its being fixed

Thanks! I put them on myself, it is very easy. The B-pillar chrome is simple peel-n-stick with the 3M double sided tape. The fender trim is held on with screws and clips. The Rocker panel trim is also 3M tape. I was a little hesitant at first because I did not want it to be "too much". I did the Pillar Post first, then the Rocker panel....then one day a Cartier passed me with the fender trim and I just had to get it, lol. I say go for it at least on the pillars.

Did you have to drill holes to put the screws on the fenders? Or are they screw holes already in place. Also were you concerned that they may not comes out straight, that would be my concern with the door ones. I am going to do this same thing, hopefully it looks just as good on the light blue.

No, the pieces I purchased are "no drill installation"...although you can drill them if you want. The front fender pieces come with clips that you fold to hold them on. the ones for the back come with a bracket that you screw into the side just enough to hold them in place. No holes needed. What do you mean when you say, come out straight? I didnt have much concern with them, I just wanted them to fit. I checked that before putting them on permanently, because once that 3M tape gets a grip....thats it!

man that Lincoln looks bad ass man, i love the color, im thinking of doing the B pillar trim as well as the fender trim. Is yours the exc Limted or the Signature? wondering because id like to get the rear seats from a L series and swap them into mine, just trying to make my different. I swear without those mods it looks like my twin. Gene sounds good i think we need to do that sometime in the warmer months, hangout and cruise with the moonroofs open and what not. let me know if Or when you want to kinda plan this out and im sure we can find a nice place like a car show or something to park and show them off. right now im off mondays and tuesdays until work picks up. How dark is the tint? im planning on getting mine all redone, I have a pic on my photobucket of the car when i got her and it had 5% on the back.

Thanks a lot! The trim would look great on yours especially since you have the chrome wheels. Mine is the Signature Limited, the seats from an L would def set yours off...before I added the stuff to it, they were definitely twins...except you have the super cool wheels man!! Def we will setup a cruise..no moonroof here though, lol. I have been thinking about adding one...local Company will do for $1200, still debating about whether to go aftermarket or not. I am a Mon - Fri 9 - 5 guy but we can def work it out.

My tint is 35% in the front, 25% on rear doors, and 15% on the back window. I really wanted to do 25% all the way around, but I wanted to at least somewhat stay in compliance with GA laws. When I get Photobucket setup I will post pics of the interior as well. Nothing fancy, just added some additional "wood" accents and JVC Headunit..

Thanks, i do think the fender chrome and v pillar trim would set it off, i went to a salvage yard today to get some trim that from PO's didnt take care on removing them to get to things. Not one was the L series, i think that will elude me for a long time, esp in the QF trim color code. i need to ask the tint shops and inspection place if i can go a tad darker in the back, as i liked the darker look. Thats a lil pricey to add a moonroof but if you go with it it will be worth it. ill take pics tomorrow on tuesday of the interior after i get her washed and properly detailed. im trying to find a good double din headunit that isnt gonna cost alot, but look classy to go with the cars classy feel. We'll have to setup a day when you have one or a few days off to head up and sit and talk about our Lincoln Town Car's take pics of them together and whatever car guys do lol. Yea everyone has been getting me to sell those wheels for there Lincoln Town Car, im like nah im good.

I am surprised with yours being an "Ultimate" trim that is did not come with any of the trim pieces. I thought they did..do you think they were possible removed at some time prior to your ownership?

The $1200 for the moonroof is definitely up there, but this place does quality work and warranties for life, i do not mind paying for good quality job! Especially when that company is cutting a whole in my roof, lol. In my Cougar I added an aftermarket moonroof and I love it. Nothing like some open air riding I tell ya. I have a double din that looks pretty much stock, and I even changed the accent lights on the unit to match the vehicles lights (green). I may try doing the accent lighting on the interior that you did, that sounds pretty cool, while still keeping it classy.

I have found some knockoff Lincoln chrome wheels on Ebay for about $800 and $50 a piece for the center caps for a total of $1000. I was going to do that, but decided against spending that kind of coin on them (for now at least, lol!).

I understand you on the tint. I like DARK. On my Cougar I have 5% on it, and its great! The sun is practically non-existent, lol. Of course, with that comes the needless police attention, and with how much I travel in my Town Car, I just keep it light. We do not have to get inspections like you all do, so you can get away with it here. Also, GA law exempts Limo's from the tint requirements, at least for the rear windows. Pretty much any Town Car here in Atlanta is considered to be a limo, LOL

Not to my knowledge, then again the PO drove for a limo service and know it was well taken care of. So when i get around to the tint i may try to see if i can go a tad darker than legal, even if it means i need go to a special place for it to pass then so beit. IIRC i may have a write up on how to put in the SMD led's on here. If not feel free to email me and i can walk you through it, i even have pics as you saw on my Photobucket, speaking of that, i got her looking so damn sexy today, and took some interior pics i will upload and let everyone see. On my replacemnt passenger door panel, i noticed after i got home it didnt have the heated seat opening. So my question is, can i pop off the trim panel on mine, and transfer it to the new panel, using hot glue along with locktite super glue?

http://s1236.photobucket.com/user/99RegalClone/library/?view=recent&page=1 heres how shes looks now if you think she was clean last tuesday then need to put your shades on lol. the first 2 pics are of the door panels in question.

Ok cool. Thanks Gene. I decided to start with the fender accents. Even though I do not have the chrome wheels I think with the light blue it should look good also since my grill and door handles go well with the color. After a week or so I will go with the Pillars. I see the no drill 2inch on ebay.

Definitely it will set the light blue off nicely with or without Chrome wheels (like mine)...FYI...these are the ones I purchased:

They do not cost too much so if you do not like them you can take them off and not be set back too far. (although I know you will love them!)

Here I am attempting to upload a couple of pics of the interior of my Lincoln...

I have heard of some car enthusiast in states with yearly inspections remove their illegal tint to pass, then retint the windows, lol. Do not know your financial situation nor your tinting ability, but if either are pretty good, that could be an option?

I looked at the pics, that car and interior looks awesome, I honestly wouldn't believe you have over 300k miles on that car. Its funny seeing yours with the tan interior when I am so used to looking at mine with the Charcoal.

I haven't heard of many doing that, as for the money part its a little tight so i couldn't do that, nor have i tried to tint my own windows so i would probably mess it up. Yea, for the mileage the interior is in great shape, no rips or tears in the seats. Just trying to right now fix my heated seat on the driver side. i have the heated seat elements and have the seat bottom installed but trying to get the back of the front seat trim off so i can replace it. Town had found me some pdf's on how to remove it but scared to do it as i don't want to break it. As for my issue with the passenger side heated switch, i'm gonna remove the panel around the handle on the used one i got and see if i can swap it over and use alot of hot glue to reattach it. I saw your pics and i was like oh wow, so dark inside, from looking at your steering wheel it looks like you have a 05-07 one. I think if this post gets too long we should start emailing Gene and anyone that wants to chat about our Lincoln Town Car's

Hi TCUltimate2004,

As an alternative you could post threads of interest to you here in this forum, that would allow us all to benefit from the discussions. I looked around for a suitable sub-forum thinking the Lounge would fit but it doesn't, and I could not find anything else (except this sub-forum) that fits.

As another alternative you could request Rey and Sal to create a forum to meet your collective need. There seems to be a lot of interest in chatting about our cars, and other Lincolns. You could post a thread requesting the forum in here: http://lincolnforums.com/forums/forums/17-Site-News-Feedback-Suggestions and then we could all support the initiative with a post. It has worked before so with interest may work again.

Good luck.

TCUltimate2004 started a thread on his chat room idea here: http://lincolnforums.com/forums/thr...-talk-about-Lincoln Town Car-and-other-models so if you support that then please post your voice of support to the thread. Good ideas need actual support of members to be implemented.
