Progress of my 2004 while its being fixed

as the title states, my 2004 Lincoln town car Ultimate edition with 318K miles is on the side lines. On Jan 25th while my mom and i were going to pick my brother from work at the mall, a car coming down one of the rows wasn't paying attention and hit me in my right rear. He got the door, trim and bumper. After the claim was filed that Monday, i believe later that week or the following their insurance adjuster came out and took several pictures, some pictures i wasn't even sure he needed but he said he did, After that he asked me the basic questions like what options it had, the mileage and what i paid for it. So while he sat in his car in the driveway, thoughts of me losing my baby came flooding in because honestly he said the mileage and price, plus the estimates i had gotten were over what they considered salvageable. So after what seemed forever he got out and i said good news? he said yes i want to save this car and will approve the repairs, i was so relieved to hear that. Then came time to drop her off at the body shop of my choosing, that happened Feb 10th. when enterprise picked me up to get my rental i was missing her already but knowing she was in good hands put me slightly at ease. I have photos of her on my photo bucket account that i will include in this post, so if anyone wants to see the before and current state of her you can. I've had the rental for 2 weeks, reason being is that 2 days after dropping her off we had a major snow storm that closed most businesses for several days, my body shop included. that pushed them several days behind. I stopped in today to see the progress, there whole staff are so polite, friendly i was like i hope i'm not being a pain for coming up so often to check the progress, the guy working on it said nah your fine, and that if the person is a car guy like i am and want to see how the progress is coming along. If things go well i should have her back by end of the week or first of next week. I know of members that have asked about the progress of my car, But i feel its better and cleaner to make a Thread of her like this instead of bombarding someone else's thread where there trying to get help with issues with Lincoln Town Car. Dont be afraid to comment good or bad, the way i see it no comments means no one like/disliked something, but that's IMHO.

Hi TCUltimate2004,

Too bad about the accident and the damage to your car. It is surprising how expensive bodywork repairs can be, so you are lucky to get to keep her. Sounds like a good bodyshop so you should be very happy with your car when you get it back.

Defintiely sorry about the accident and glad its getting fixed. I had a friend of mine with a 2003 Cartier with about 378k on it, and they totalled it almost instantly because of the mileage.

It's fantastic that your insurance chose to repair it! I bet many other companies would have totalled it due to mileage, so it's great to see it being repaired properly. Keep us posted!

thanks for the comments, i'm glad i get to keep her too. it wasn't my insurance that decided to fix her, it was the other parties Ins adjuster. As of now it wont be done Friday, but now since the Enterprise wants there rental back Friday and i don't have a way to work this weekend, after talking to the body shop they said to keep the car Friday and to turn it in Saturday. they said if need be they will pay for the rental for Saturday when i drop it off. That still leaves me looking for a way to work Saturday and Sunday, not to mention a way to go pick my car up Monday. I will let everyone know what happens with the rental.

i got the call Friday morning that i was able to keep the rental till Monday, and that mike the owner at the body shop told the woman i talked to that my car will be done Monday, but not sure what time tho. Man im so excited and cant wait to get her back and sitting in the driveway. enterprise said i needed to put it back to half, but do i need to after all the trouble and hassle they have been about the extensions? i well DEF post up pics of her in her glory, looking all clean and sexy...

sweet gene, is yours the tan or black interior? As of 3pm they called and said it wouldn't be done till late this afternoon. sucks but the owner mike said he wants it to look good and not slopped together. She said there adjusting the door and has the trim to install, then off to the detail shop to get buffed and polished. So now i wait for them to call tomorrow. BTW gene do you have pics of yours? if so would you mind sharing?

Mine has the black interior (or as Ford refers to it, Charcoal)....I have pics, I will upload a couple in a little bit. The site always gives me fits, smh

Nice, I wanted the black interior but most of those over here have been used for taxi use, tough to get a clean one. I had to go with the blue over beige.

Rey, that is a clean Lincoln Town Car. i dig those factory rims, kinda wish mine had those instead. pics are coming, trying to get them uploaded to my photobucket account. thats cool gene, maybe one day we can meet up and check each others Lincoln Town Car out and maybe take some pics of them side my side

Looks great Town Car. First time seeing the navy blue and looks like new after the job. What do you mean about all the LED's you added. You added those in place of the regular lights?

thanks, it does look brand new. yea i changed all the reg bulbs i could on the interior to SMD leds. Trying to do that to the exterior ones as well, would like to add a aftermarket HID kit or get a projector kit modded in place of the reg bulbs. At night they light up the inside when you turn the switch on, i even added some to the trunk. if anyone is interested in doing that feel free to PM me on here and i can walk you through it

That looks absolutely amazing! They did an awesome job on it. I agree, we got to have a Hangout, we are not that far apart, and I am always down for a trip, lol.

Looks bad ass with the accents. Did you put those on yourself? I had a caddy with the chrome over the wheels but it was too much and went down too far but the Lincoln wheel accents are not too much, looks great! Also great to cover the oxidized black between the doors. I have been trying to figure that out, perhaps I will do this.

Thanks! I put them on myself, it is very easy. The B-pillar chrome is simple peel-n-stick with the 3M double sided tape. The fender trim is held on with screws and clips. The Rocker panel trim is also 3M tape. I was a little hesitant at first because I did not want it to be "too much". I did the Pillar Post first, then the Rocker panel....then one day a Cartier passed me with the fender trim and I just had to get it, lol. I say go for it at least on the pillars.

man that Lincoln looks bad ass man, i love the color, im thinking of doing the B pillar trim as well as the fender trim. Is yours the exc Limted or the Signature? wondering because id like to get the rear seats from a L series and swap them into mine, just trying to make my different. I swear without those mods it looks like my twin. Gene sounds good i think we need to do that sometime in the warmer months, hangout and cruise with the moonroofs open and what not. let me know if Or when you want to kinda plan this out and im sure we can find a nice place like a car show or something to park and show them off. right now im off mondays and tuesdays until work picks up. How dark is the tint? im planning on getting mine all redone, I have a pic on my photobucket of the car when i got her and it had 5% on the back.
