Power running boards are not working

I have a 2023 L and the running boards keep doing the same, there are several other electrical issues as well along with the running boards.
Passenger side mirror will randomly go out of sync while one opens the other remains folded, wireless charger or the wired charger work one at a time, volume will go down almost as if a speaker blew, trunk will not fully open from the trunk. We have mentioned it to Lincoln, yet all we hear is “technicians could not duplicate”
Our problems started with the mirrors behaving as you described. Now our 2023 Nav won’t even start. It was towed to a dealer. They cannot get any of the modules to talk to each other. They are working on it, but are completely stumped. We have had several Navigators and never had any problems like this.

I am speechless about your issues. My running board has not acted up since the mechanic at Gerald Jones Lincoln in Evans Ga. Claim to have found a electrical problem and fix it. I am still waiting to see if he has located the problem.

Have same problem with my 2023 Black Label L. It switches from auto to off probably 3 to 4 times per month. What's interesting is it only happens after I leave the vehicle and return. They always deploy when I get out but then won't when I return to vehicle. Lincoln dealer said they were aware of issue but waiting on fix from Lincoln.

Then way OTA updates had been touted, and we read that an OTA update MAY have ben applied to a vehicle. Silly.

Apparently the OTA has to be set to schedule and vehicle connected to WiFi for any OTA to run.

I received the update according to my Lincoln Way app. Drove for about 10 minutes, exited vehicle and returned 30 minutes later. Unlocked doors with key fob and opened doors. Running boards dis not deploy. Checked settings and it changed from auto to off. Seems the update did nothing.

My Navigator was updated on the Oct. 11th with the new software according to my Lincoln Way app. We drove the vehicle about 10 minutes and then exited it for about 30 minutes. When we returned to the vehicle, I unlocked the doors with the key fob, opened the door and the running boards did not deploy. Opened up the settings and it had changed from auto to off again. If the OTA update was supposed to solve the problem, it didn't appear to work. This has been an issue with my Navigator since I purchased it in January.

Lemon law it. I did because of the issue.

I know. I have mine set up that way. I'll say it another way. OTA updates never tell us if something was fixed. You would be guessing unless you had your dealer service department enter your VIN in PTS to check if it was applied OTA.

How did I lemon law it? Random running board switching is a software bug not a safety defect.
My 2020 was reacquired for multiple Sync 3 software issues that kept the truck in the shop well over 30 days cumulatively while the issues were never solved. By staying on the Concierge politely for months, they offered the buyback.

Check your state law, but it doesn't likely have to be a safety defect.

It absolutely is a safety issue. Mine retracted while I and my kid were on it. Luckily we caught ourselves.

That is a much different issue than the running boards reverting to OFF. That is what the bulletin above addresses. Your issue is the first time I have seen that posted. The issue from the bulletin is you finish a key cycle, and when you come back out sometime later, the running boards do not deploy, and you have to turn them back on.

I purchased a leftover 2023 Navigator Black Label L the first week of October. After just one week, the running boards started resetting the off position and the mirrors wouldn't open completely when the vehicle was started. After reading all of these posts, I decided to do as suggested and notify the dealership. They took it right in today. This was their response this afternoon:

it's Jennifer Allen Ford Lincoln . I was giving you a call in regards to your vehicle . We did get it in today . Got it checked out . There was a TSB related to the issue you're having with your runningboards so we were able to update the GW M, to gain access to your AP module I'm updated a.m. to the latest version And is operating as intended at this time as well as the mirrors we did find a service message applicable to it as well so we had updated Update the driver door module and passenger door module to the latest levels. Systems are operating as intended.

Anyone still having issues with either their running boards resetting to off or mirrors not opening can now have the issue fixed at the dealership.

I updated mine by myself back on Oct 14. It has fixed the running board issue but has had several new bugs now. The biggest one that comes to mind is that probably once a week the sync display is blank on startup and will stay blank for a good 2 minutes into the drive before it starts up. Not even the backup camera works.
When it does start up right away, it seems to have slow responsiveness the first few minutes. When I updated I did all modules that had updates available, including the driver/passenger seat and driver/passenger door. I have had a few times now where the passenger mirror only opens part way now. I have to close/reopen it to fix.
I plan to try and update again in another month or so and see if they have more updates available.

This running board issue is definitely a problem that MUST be fixed.
A $100k+ vehicle should never have a problem like this.
If not fixed I’m sure my wife will demand a “Lemon Law” return.

It’s fixed, the recent OTA stopped the problem (and turned on rear seat baby reminder)..
