Noisy and stiff

Mine is a 2021. My only issue is that the ride is more harsh than the standard spring suspension and I have the $2400 Dynamic Handling option.
Interesting as mine is much better even with larger rims than the mid range suspension option.

WOW!! I think you're right...it is most likely a software issue. But they should have updated their software by now! You would think!

Hi Heather. No matter how reliable, any make/model vehicle can and will have issues with one thing or another.

This is not an inherent, widespread "software issue" that needs to be "updated". It is a defect which occurs in a small amount of vehicles, just like any other defect. It is the same case with any automotive problem, whether it is with the engine, transmission, power windows, air conditioning, audio system, power seats, etc. etc. etc.
Short story is there is no widespread issue with the system.

The vast majority of vehicles work correctly, but there will always be vehicles with a defect which may need to be fixed. That is what the warranty is for.

Also, keep in mind that automotive forums, this one included, will always have an inordinate amount of complaints about the vehicle. The reality is that many/most people come to forums looking for advice and solutions to a problem. Very few people are on forums to tell us how wonderful their vehicles are, or just to help others with common vehicle interests. In this case, Lincolns.

But if you go to forums for Lexus, Infiniti, Hyundai, Genesis, Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes etc, it will be the same story. Problems, problems, problems...lol.
So don't let the horror stories get to you. They may seem like a majority on online forums, but they are a tiny minority in reality.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

One recommendation if you do go with dynamic handling and are concerned based on previous years is pickup an extended warranty. I did just for the peace of mind. So far I love it but experiences can vary.

2022 aviator gt. Replaced a 2020 aviator gt which had 20in rims and the new one only did 21 in rims so got the dynamic handling package.
Thanks. It could be that is was fixed on the 2022s.

Thank you so much...you're right...on car forums most people would write about the problems they are having with their vehicles to get insights...etc. So car issues are amplified. I understand that. I have investigated Cadillac XT6...I also researched Infiniti QX60. The only feature I really like about those two...they have the LCD rear view camera mirror which the Aviator doesn't have. (I have a thread about it...as I'm looking to see if someone installed it in their Aviator). With that said...I will most likely buy the 2022 Aviator Reserve with the Dynamic Suspension and Illumination Packages.

I think you will find complainants and manufacturer advocates on almost all forums. Good places to get more of an objective opinion are Consumer Reports and other similar sites. Unfortunately Lincoln is not very high in those ratings. Lexus, Toyota, and some of the Korean cars tend to stay in the top tiers.

Yet...if you go to Toyota forums...you would find lots of complaints about new cars they just purchased...

Heather - You are correct, and that is true of any vehicle forum. Consumer Reports, J D Powers, NHTSA and others use a comprehensive and statistically significant database that is hard to glean from forums.

Good point rjabend. Forums, such as this one, also represent a very small base of customers. In this small base you have a mix of participants. Some loudly proud of their purchase/brand, some fed up with their purchase/brand, some who are interested in both sides, and unfortunately you have the trolls who just want to spoil it for all. After spending time on a forum, you eventually learn how to read and cull through what you see. In other words, making decisions solely based on forums is probably not a wise choice. You should use multiple sources for research and actually touch and drive the vehicle yourself.

By the way, love this forum. Some real dedication to speak the honest truth and provide meaningful insight, . . . . . . by most! ;)
