New recall - substandard material strength in engine frame rails

No sneaky underhanded stuff here. They have already agreed to price protection from the order date and X-plan pricing, so if it passes, and we want it, then we will get a fair deal. If we order a 2023 we will be price protected from the day of order and still get X-plan pricing. We are happy with the dealer and how they are treating us.

Hi Rubyspal. Did not imply any "sneaky underhanded stuff" was occurring. Only pointing out, as PETE@SSTAP did, that if you are removed as the retail and/or X-Plan buyer buyer on the 2022, you will lose price protection on that 2022. So if you still may have any interest in the 2022 when it arrives, be sure the Dealership does not remove you as the buyer if/when they return your deposit.

Goodluck.

So has anyone received a recall notice? Ours was built during the publicized problem dates but we have heard nothing.

Hi Jim. Did you purchase new or used? If you purchased new, have you moved since purchasing...and if yes, have you registered your new address with Lincoln. If you purchased used, has your vehicle and your address been registered with Lincoln?

Additionally, simply stop by the Service Department at your local Lincoln or Ford Dealer, and have them run your VIN to see if it has any outstanding recalls etc.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I should have elaborated: If for one reason or another your vehicle is not registered with Lincoln to you and your address, go to the Service Department of your Dealership, say hello, and ask them to properly register it. In this way, you will receive recall and other notices moving forward.

Alternately, if you have your vehicle registered and connected to the LincolnWay app on your phone, be sure your address is included in your account information and you have notifications enabled. Again, in this way, you will receive recall and other notices moving forward.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Well, I received the call that the 2022 Aviator that we have been waiting for since early June was finally inspected. My understanding is that there is one threaded bolt hole in the engine rail that they run a bolt into and torque it to spec. If it strips out it is an affected vehicle and unsellable. On this one it did not strip out.
We went and looked at the vehicle today and my wife doesn't like the feel on her back of the Luxury package seats, couldn't get them adjusted to be as comfortable as the leather XLT seats in our 2015 Explorer. We decided to pass on this Aviator and wait to see what the 2024 refresh brings and then order the color and options that we want vs taking a fully loaded one now that has $5,000+ in options we wouldn't need. Our dealer has been awesome throughout this process and we will gladly order from them when the time comes.

If a 3-0 way adjustable seat cannot be set to be comfortable I doubt that a refresh will change that. It could be possible that the feature itself may no longer be available then and that may help. What I like about the seats is the ability to extend the cushion. I don't use the massage feature. Good luck.

She also sat in another Lincoln with just the 12 way adjustable seats and felt it was more comfortable to her. I think it may be due to the "compartments" for the massage, there is a seam mid back on her that she feels and just was not happy with the comfort.... One would think that more adjustability is better and being 6' 2" I loved the adjustability behind my knees, but at 5' 4" she had a different opinion....
Since this is her vehicle and I have my F350 that I love we will wait and test drive one without the luxury package when we find one in stock before we order.
