MY2023 Aviator Order Timeline Tracking thread

I said that because it mentions 10R80 transmission, isn't that only on GTs? (Actually 10R80-MHT or something) And all the other Explorers/Aviators get the 10R60.
But I guess it only mentions that in the correction about some insulator bolt.

But this makes it sound like it isn't something new, right?
Being in sales I couldn’t tell you what tranny is in what car. All I know is I sat across the showroom and listened to them and their disappointment when they couldn’t take it home. It’s not a GT. The I checked it to see what recall they were talking about. I had initially thought it was still over the camera issue. But it’s not.

No, but my dealer did say my vehicle was on a boat/truck headed from New York to PA back to RI (where I am) and that he expects it will not be here until next week. We asked them to value my 2016 Volvo xc90 with 72,000 miles. I have offers of 22,200 at the moment. The Ford/Lincoln dealer I am buying the Aviator from said they could not go higher than 30k. I offer this info just as a gauge on how “not worried” they are about losing my deal. In case it is helpful to any of you contemplating negotiating your dealer down after all this wait.
Once I saw mine had shipped I contacted dealership and discussed that I was no longer willing to pay close to MSRP like I was back in January when I ordered it. I gave them a number that I could live with and they made it work. All together I'm paying about $3700 less than before but $1000 of that is a rebate.

Update on my order: Dealer called today to tell me my Aviator has arrived. Unfortunately I'm out of town on business and will not be able to get there till Wednesday. After reading posts here about scratches and other issues, I'm going to call salesman tomorrow and see if he minds checking it out pretty good for me. Be nice that if there are problems....they fix those before I get back home. I've waited this long, sure don't want to get there and see scratches.

Did anyone get a letter from Lincoln saying how sorry they are and how they are working through the back log and how they "expect" delivery to take place in the 4th quarter, sometime ?
I got the letter/Email.... My husband and I just laughed. We ordered our 2023 Aviator in March of 2022. That's right 2022. So it would be 1 year and at least 8 months from when we ordered to when we potentially would have gotten it. Good thing for us we abandoned the process in March and got a Cadillac Escalade. With everything that continues to go on we don't regret that decision at all! We still get these emails though, and when and if it actually gets to the dealer we plan to go test drive it! Best of luck to you!

I received the same email but I think that was just something they sent out to most everyone. Because within a day or so receiving that letter my dealer called to say my Aviator had just arrived.

I ordered mine on Oct. 31st and it is only now in transit to the dealer.
The camera recall no longer shows when checking.

What are you using to check the recall? When I run my VIN through the US NHTSA it says "Recall Status: Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available".

I used this link but I don't know if it will work on all vehicles. Check for open vehicle recalls in Canada | CARFAX Canada
You could also try this one; https://www.kbb.com/recall/

Peter
My VIN shows up on the Canadian Carfax and also KBB as still pending a recall fix. You're saying yours was showing up previously but no longer? The Lincoln order tracking website still lists mine as in production with no update since March. Unfortunately the dealership has no information and we are coming due for an oil change and new brakes on our trade :)

Yes, mine showed the recall while In Production.
Did not check it when it moved to "Built". Only thought to check it later after it was "Shipped" and no more recall. I'm guessing once the camera and software have been installed it will change to "Built".

Does anyone know how to check the statues of an Aviator that was not a custom ordered? I agreed to buy one already on order from my local dealership and I can't seem to get any updates from them on the current statues. Thank you

Welcome to the Forum. 👋
I don't know if dealer orders are structured the same way as custom orders. Mine is a custom order and to track it I needed the dealer's order number and the VIN.

Thanks Peter, I have both the order number and VIN. Is there a spot on the website to track?

We have a deposit down, but did not custom order. If you have the window sticker of the vehicle you are waiting on, you can get the following info from it (picture attached). If there is a customer facing website to plug this into to get status, please let me know! I called Lincoln concierge and they told me the status was "In Production"....after that it should shift to "Awaiting Shipment". The concierge also told me the dealer should have more granular visibility into the cars status, but she doesn't seem to know a thing.

I learned that the Blend Date (4/14/2023 for ours) is when all parts are ready to go and the car is usually assembled in the next several days. So our car is built...likely awaiting the camera fix, at which point we should shift to awaiting shipment.

FYI, mine went from "In Production" to "Built" and then "Shipped". It seems the Concierge missed a step. The last stage is "Final Prep" meaning it is at the dealership getting the once over.

Thank you!

Thx AZ. Unfortunately when I enter my data it throws an error. Maybe this only works for custom paid orders, not deposits, i.e. what the dealer had coming.

It confounds me my dealer claims to know nothing, but I've learned so much on these forums... The data is out there, why is it so hard to find? I believe Ford knows where each VIN is, why obscure it from customers?

I haven't put a deposit on my order nor have I paid for the vehicle but can track it on the Canadian site but not on the U.S. site.
I'm guessing that you are in the U.S.
