MY2023 Aviator Order Timeline Tracking thread

Hey Butterfly, have you received an update regarding your order yet???? I am STILL in processing 🙄.
I contacted my dealer on Monday. The dealer changed my priority code from 19 to 10. They informed me that the allocation normally occurs on the first of the month. Hopefully, I'll get an update then. It's getting frustrating.

Update:
Picked up our Avi yesterday. Received a call from the sales guy the day before saying it will be ready yesterday afternoon. On my way to the dealership, I received another call stating they received a truckload of shipment lately and they’re running behind the detailing and won’t be ready to pick up until Friday afternoon. Chose to stop by the dealership regardless just to check out the vehicle.

It was in the parking lot all dusty waiting to be detailed. Informed the sales guy that I just needed the basic detailing and no need for the Tinting, paint protection film and all the nonsense dealer add ons which was clearly declined in the contract.

I already had my financing approved through my bank but they tried to convince me to get their financing with a .09% lower APR ($2 lower monthly premium). I declined it right away.

The finance guy turned out to be a newbie with very minimal experience. He tried to sell me the various dealer offered packages and I declined them all. I was able to explain and convince him that I don’t need any of them and his response was ‘That makes total sense. I agree with you’. Lol

He walked out and few minutes later his boss walked into the room and tried to convince me the same. She told me he’s a new guy for some reason. Maybe she felt he didn’t know what he was doing and that’s why he couldn’t upsell anything. I repeated my statements and soon she left as well.

Finally I felt bad for the finance guy that he was just sitting there disappointed that he couldn’t get anything out of me. But I promised him that if he give me a call when the interest rates drop and I will be more than happy to refinance through them.

Five hours after walking into the dealership I drove back home on my new SUV. The drive was smooth just like my ML350 and I’m loving it so far except the steering feedback. I guess I will get used to it.

I am taking it to the tint shop this morning. Getting the Xpel XR Plus. ($1000). It’s expensive here in TX but I heard it’s worth it in the summer heat. I did get a lower quote compared to last time I checked back in August. Just curious that Summer is finally over now which is causing the price drop. Not sure if I should wait couple months until end of fall to get it tinted expecting another price drop.

Anyways I am excited and planning on a 4 hour (one way) trip in 2 weeks. I was told there is no break in period and I can drive in highway as I please. Will double check with the user manual for sure.
Will upload the pics once I get it tinted. 😉😉

Order Date: 2 Aug
Pick up Date: 29 Sep.

Did anyone get Lincoln or their dealer to include all weather mats, cargo cover or cargo rails? Seems like these items used to be included when you would get a car and now everything is extra.
Yes, on each and every purchase i make, even using Z-Plan, when dealer profit margin,s are much lower. I get weathertech mats, including cargo mat, and on this order the paint protection up front. Last purchase was a 2021 150 and got window tint, drop-in bed liner and rear wheel well liners, and there's still fat on the bone. They told me" We're looking at future sales and want our customers walking out happy" All depends on how greedy and short sighted YOU'r dealer is.

Your dealer gave you weathertech mats for free?

I was offered the ESP package multiple times as well and declined. Most comments on here and other places I found say the dealers try to sell them bc they make a lot of money on them, so that makes sense. What is the advatange of the Xpel XR Plus? Did you car not come with tinted windows?

Absolutely, and then some! If they had mudflaps available, i'd have asked and got them as well. I arrange all that while ordering, but it really wouldn't matter with my dealer. As it is with most dealers, asking at the tail end likely wouldn't be successful since they already made the sale. Majority don't give anything away and the few good dealers stand out like a lighthouse. I trade often and seldome buy a ESP package, but when i did on only 2 occasions, he let me have it at his cost.

Yes, I got that too, didn't even bother asking what it is, just said 'No Thanks'. I learnt my lesson from my previous SUV (ML350).

I purchased the 7 year 70K warranty for $2400 through the dealer. I work from home and very minimal drive, put in 28K in 6 years when I got rear ended and totaled by the insurance since the resale value sucks on German vehicles. Fully paid off, could have easily got another 70K miles on it, but that $2400 went straight down the sewer. :(

Dealer wanted to charge me $400 on front windows tinting alone. I declined. Detail shop quoted me $200 for Llumar IRX for the front.

Xpel XR Plus is the top dog in the market when it gets to tinting. It offers 99% UV and 98% IR rejection. The closest one is Llumar IRX/Pinnacle/Stratus which offers 99% UV and 88%? IR rejection. I have included the specs in another thread here, that shows the difference. But it depends on where you live. In CA, AZ, TX, FL maybe it's worth the money to get Xpel, up in the north Boston area, not so much.

I just dropped off at the tint place and they offered me another $100 discount on top just for asking. :LOL:So now its $900 for Xpel XR Plus, whole vehicle including 70% on windshield except the sunroof. I can get it for couple hundreds cheaper if I go to OK, AR, but not worth the hassle. They sure are milking it in TX especially with 110F this summer. The Llumar guy quoted me $750,for the whole vehicle, but I don't mind the difference for 98% heat rejection. I may have to wait until next Summer to test it out though. lol

If you arranged the 'extras' while negotiating the deal you can be sure that you ended up paying for them or part of them somewhere during the procedure.
I got mud flaps thrown in on a deal but that was after the final price was agreed upon and it was written into the contract.

Sounds like you got the tinted to help with sun exposure into the vehicle.

That's very true. The more info you give them ahead of time, the more ways they come up with to increase the final price.

I called one of my older dealership to check if I had ResistAll paint protection coverage on it as part of the purchase. I was told, yes it does, original price $1600, but they gave me a deal for $900. Yeah right, one of my buddy who works at a different dealership said its crappy stuff worth $200 and they upsell it all the time.

That's what I like to believe...... for now......
They gave me an instant $100 discount for asking, so that shows they are still making a good profit out of it.

That's apparently the way it goes with most dealers, agreed. I pay Z-plan, as per factory invoice, minus fair tradein value, plus tax. Total, without any extra charges.
I forgot to mention earlier.....i always ask and get a paint touchup stick too, free of course. Anybody not happy with their dealer, pm me if you're in S.W.. ON. Canada and I'll tell you who my dealer of choice is.

Ha! Absolutely no one at all. Very surprised that it came as quickly as it did. It is beautiful! I took some pics when I went to look at it but can’t get them to upload for some reason. It will finish dealer prep tomorrow and should be in my driveway tomorrow evening!

Hi nity. Congratulations! While it is probably too late now, there is a minimal break-in period which should be followed. Although these things have very recently been removed from the Owners Manual, it is a good idea to wait at least 500-1,000 miles before using a new vehicle for towing (not an issue for you), and to drive the new vehicle at varying speeds for the first 500-1,000 miles.

In other words, do not jump on the highway and drive at 70 mph for 500 miles. Essentially, if we must drive a brand new vehicle on a long highway trip during the first 500-1,000 miles, a good rule of thumb is to vary the driving speed by at least 10 mph every 10 minutes.

And on a related note...There is no break-in oil used in Lincoln/Ford vehicles. So we can follow the normal oil change interval from the start, or as some people prefer, perform the first oil change early, if it gives a new owner peace of mind.

Congratulations again and good luck.

So it's been 11 weeks since I placed my order. I decided to cancel my order. I found the exact same vehicle I ordered arriving at a dealer. The dealership VIN was created on 8/22. The vehicle was delivered on 09/30. The dealer even sent me a picture of it still on the truck

Are all of the orders now having the hands free lift gate deleted automatically?
