Missing engine covers

Is your dealership paying for them?

This is my 2020.

Don't know yet. They were going to research it. That was why I asked if others had them installed from factory. If others are getting them, then they should since this is a BL GT.

I ordered thru dealer. Don't know cost yet. I had center one, so just needed the 2 side ones. I'm thinking they were about $60.00 each based on internet search.

If the dealer is getting them from Ford, they are about $85 compared to $60 through AutoNation Ford. Hopefully they will be covered by Ford/Lincoln.

Actually. I'd like to know if it is really Ford/Lincoln that is paying for them. It makes a difference in that if the dealer is being reimbursed, then it's an acknowledgement by the manufacturer of an oversight/error.

My dealer said they were missing and that it was a warranty item, thus no cost to me.

Yes

This sounds like a conversation to be had the next time I visit the dealer service center. I don't really have any issues with hood flutter even without the two side pieces. However, if they were supposed to be there, I am certainly going to ask where they are and how do I get them.

That was exactly my thoughts. I took part Nos. posted on this site and gave them to Service Advisor. He said they would check and if not part of 2022 them I would have to pay. Came back and said they should have been on vehicle, no cost Warranty claim.

I ended up using the local dealership today to cut my new key (the only reasonable folks around at $10).

I asked the parts guy for the part numbers; when I told him why he suggested I reach out to the service manager. I'm preparing an email to said service manager to perhaps take care of this. The main large center piece is PN LC5Z*16A238*D. The two side pieces are LC5Z*16A238*G & LC5Z*16A238*F.

We'll see what the response is.
I understand from another post of yours that the dealership wants you to pay for the covers. Is that what is happening? Others seem to be getting them supplied and installed for no charge.

Peter

How very observant you are, Peter. I apologize for my delayed response - been traveling back (happily in our Aviator) from North Carolina.

According to the dealer as confirmed by the concierge desk, they eliminated these covers from production sometime in the past (date not disclosed to me). They acknowledge Lincoln they did not do a good job with all the literature (e.g. photos) that infer the parts are supplied with the cars and response to my inquiry. We worked out a solution amenable to both parties.

I think this may have tipped the balance to where others may be denied, but the dealer from which you purchased the car is who you should work with.

Why removed from production?
Why not remove the front and or rear cover also?
May as well remove the rubber gasket on the hood also since it has nothing to press against with the 3 covers gone.

The design , to be a completed build, requires all 3 covers to contact the rubber gasket re sound , water and dirt.

My 2022 Aviator reserve did not arrive with the left and right covers/deflectors. Went to dealer last week. They said the covers should have come with the Aviator and they ordered them. Installed today for no material or labor cost to me. :)
