My Lincoln
2022 Aviator
Without those 4 sections of engine covers , the rubber sealer on the hood has nowhere to press against. So dirt and noise.. They are needed.

I think they were deleted as a poor cheap attempt to remedy the hood lift. The space above the lights is a great air ram, especially with the deflection off the headlights. The pressure simply lifts/bends the sides of the hood. (Try pulling up at the "Ram" area.)

The removal of the shrouds sections could be thought to let the pressure go into the engine by. That doesn't work as the dirt still comes in under the rubber before the missing pieces. See pics.

Other than hood /light redesign, a fix could be a custom rubber seal near the edge of the hood , above the light to the lowest section of the hood. That would deflect the air pressure going under the hood and stop the lift.

Took delivery of my 2022 Nav yesterday. Have driven on freeway, and if anything, the vehicle is quieter inside. I can't understand why Lincoln would be less concerned or not have thought of things that internet posters bring up.

Can't speak to the issues specific to the Aviator you mention, but again, noise is not an issue for the Navigator, anyway.

Aviator is significantly different . Air Ram effect causes hood to lift. Hood seal is on the engine covers.. No seal without them.

Yes Asked for missing sections of covers . When they are sent to the dealer, I'll make an appoint to have the hood adjusted. Suggested that a fix (other than correcting the flawed light / hood design )would be a custom rubber seal near the front of the hood above and to the inside of the headlight. No reply .. 8 days

With all due respect, that's not part of their business model; the dealers can't go customizing Ford's design.

You're likely left tony your own design here.

Suggestion is for a Ford Inc fix,,, (not likely) Not the dealer.

Mine are missing as well. Sure looks better with the covers and it protects the electronics by the washer fluid.

Would you mind advising which part numbers pertain to the 'missing' covers? In addition, please advise if Lincoln is paying for this.

thanks

Note that the rubber round seal attached to the hood has nothing to touch against without these pieces. I think they were short shipped (And saving $10 )

Thanks. I'm trying to understand what 'these pieces' are. Can you please provide the part numbers and affirm whether or not your local dealership paid to provide them and/or install them as well?

I had no luck trying to find them on a parts website and am not sure what the actual part names are.
Is yours a 2022? Your Signature just mentions Reserve. Mine is a 2020 and has all those covers.

I now realize the pic in your post was NOT your car. Where did you get that photo?

My BL GT, delivered 12/8/21, came without those covers also.
