My Lincoln
22 Corsair GT
Did not want to post until totally complete, and with return of Corsair GT September 15th, and finally receiving overpayment and settling out account this past week, I feel totally safe to not harm the process.

Tip 1 is, be persistent and dont give up, and must say Lincoln really ended up being great to deal with
2- its a negotiation, we received the initial buyback option, and negotiated terms over the next week about 3 proposals each way

example- they were charging us 59 cents per mile for usage, and we got that removed, saved us 3k, and after a couple toss backs, they refunded us all interest paid and accrued

TERMS- THEY REFUNDED US EVERY PENNY PAID- and what i mean by this is, purchase price, doc fee, plates, registration fees, prep, state and local taxes, and had it ceramic coated and they refunded that also

One thing that does irritate me about process is, I learned this one, that when they do a internal buyback, not a true State Lemon Law case is this.

It can be resold after repair as a CPO. no show on the carfax

So what was the issue you ask ??

A severe noise from delivery in the roof area, along with other items that were addressed, this was basically a saturday nite end of shift car, there is no other explaining how bad all the issues were, but the main one is this

Missing welds in the roof, pano roof surround, and not attached to the B or C pillar right side

2 options offered after engineer from Dearborn came in, basically saying dealership had no clue and they would fix, with actually the Ford Eng making it worse when they injected a expandable bonding agent into the B Pillar was this.

1- allow Ford to buy back
2- take out entire roof, cut out metal sections of roof and B pillar, replace with new sections, weld, repaint, put in new roof assembly.

Advised against option 2

So, Scott...

First, congrats. Second, will you ever buy another Lincoln again? Third, if not, what are you looking to buy to replace that vehicle?

Lincoln is done, we both work for Jeep, this was supposed to be the end of career get a Lux car not from our company, and it did not go well.

Replaced with quite a upgrade, went from a 63K Corsair to a 76K Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE Hybrid Overland, complete with night vision .

So yeah it was 13k more, so should expect more and it def does fill the bill

Congrats again!

Just looked at that vehicle and it's beautiful. My only concern is the drop in all-electric range over the Corsair, but it is definitely a real beauty on the inside with a really nice stereo system. The Night Vision is an interesting concept and I like the way it shows up on your dash screen.

its def a diff approach, very large vehicle like a Aviator, but ICE is a 2.0 opposed to the Lincoln 2.4, but has a 17 KW battery verses the 14

charging is way better , twice as fast with the 6.6 charger verses the 3.3 with Lincoln.

Lincoln back massage quite noisey, Jeep is silent

Jeep loves to run silent in EV mode where Lincoln always started in ICE and first chance it got would kick in ICE

Range yeah Jeep is down around maxing at 28 where Lincoln thru the buyback process worked its way up to 35, but like I said previous, too much emphasis on always kicking in the ICE.

Personally i did not want the larger vehicle, and really hoped in my mind that Lincoln would force a 23 GT on us with noo upcharge but they did not offer that option, that would of removed the controversy. She was adament that if given choice there will not be a Lincoln in garage.

Night vision is a gimmick right ? I mean its cool like we left a HS football game, it drew boxes around all the people on sidewalk n such, could see a kid riding a BMX bike off to the side, and it does collision avoid with all these items identified if you got too close to them

They did do a 3rd option on the process

Keep, here is 6k for your trouble

We fix it and guarantee for 12 months, sign some non disclosure doc's

I'm currently in the beginning of my buy back/replacement process. I have submitted all the documentation they requested for the purchase of the vehicle. My understanding is I will be offered a complete buy back like you received or a special deal on a replacement Lincoln. My father was a Ford employee so I received his discount, which is significant, when I purchased my Corsair. There was also very low interest rates on financing. According to the agent I have been working with, I will receive the discount and the low interest rate if I choose to do the replacement. I'll keep you posted as my process progresses.

Hope it goes as well for you as ours did, ours ended up being such a no brainer with the Ford Eng from Corp deeming it "unrepairable without extensive invasive manuever's" that we just flat out did not have to fight.

So far, it has been an easy process. I've had numerous issues with my vehicle along with the repeated recalls, some of which have no resolution ETA. When I spoke with the Concierge she immediately connected me to a case manager. I was told it would take 10 - 14 business days for a decision to be made. I received a phone call the next morning from the case manager stating my buy back had been approved. One week later, I heard from the RAV team member handling my case. He requested a mountain of documentation that has been provided. Now, I'm just waiting on the initial offer.

NICE!! Glad for you. I looked at the 4xE used at Carmax. I stayed with the Corsair.

Good information. I might have missed this somewhere. How did you get the process started? Dealer give you the correct contacts? You find it? We've had an engineer from Dearborn work on our too. Electronics safety back up assist and ABS issues. We bought the car out after the lease ran up because it was working as it should. The dealer that did helped with the buyout, updated the software and wiped out all the patched the engineer designed. Now we can't get anyone to put the patch back in. 2 Lincoln dealers and 1 Ford dealer in the DC area all failed up. The fix is there but they won't reach out to the individual that can actually walk them through the fix.

I received my offer this morning for the buy back for my 2021 Lincoln Corsair GT. It is quite generous and pays me back every penny I have spent on this vehicle including interest on the financing. It doesn't include the principal payments but they also are not charging me any usage fees.

I am waiting on a phone call from my buy back representative as I have a few questions before I sign the document. I am going to order a 2024 Lincoln Nautilus to replace the Corsair.

Not sure if I am reading correct ??? Because we got back every penny, so not sure what you mean by you paid the Principal but got back interest fee's.

Our negotiation was approx 4 back n forth's, a day between each time, and took about 10 days of negotiating.

My quote included the purchase price, taxes, fees, licensing and registration. They will also pay off my vehicle once it is turned in. I'm waiting on a phone call back to get answers to a few questions.

So, I got all my questions answered although it took some back and forth between me, the buy back representative and my dealer. My dealer told me they had never heard of anyone receiving a buy back offer on a 2 year old vehicle, but I did. I had my dealer review the buy back offer to make certain I wasn't dreaming. He agreed it was very generous.

I decided to place an order for a 2024 Nautilus. Between my dealer and the buy back representative, my buy back has been placed on hold. It will be reviewed closer to the time my Nautilus being delivered. This will probably be around 6 months from now.

Wild update, got a email from Carfax, as the Lincoln was in my "garage" still.

Price update with a last 30 days significant price drop, dropped 39,000 in past 30 days, now valued at 9,000.

So my thinking is they either 1 gave up on the fix or botched the fix, either way, thought is it ended up at some sort of salvage auction and went thru at 9000.
