- My Lincoln
- 22 Corsair GT
Did not want to post until totally complete, and with return of Corsair GT September 15th, and finally receiving overpayment and settling out account this past week, I feel totally safe to not harm the process.
Tip 1 is, be persistent and dont give up, and must say Lincoln really ended up being great to deal with
2- its a negotiation, we received the initial buyback option, and negotiated terms over the next week about 3 proposals each way
example- they were charging us 59 cents per mile for usage, and we got that removed, saved us 3k, and after a couple toss backs, they refunded us all interest paid and accrued
TERMS- THEY REFUNDED US EVERY PENNY PAID- and what i mean by this is, purchase price, doc fee, plates, registration fees, prep, state and local taxes, and had it ceramic coated and they refunded that also
One thing that does irritate me about process is, I learned this one, that when they do a internal buyback, not a true State Lemon Law case is this.
It can be resold after repair as a CPO. no show on the carfax
So what was the issue you ask ??
A severe noise from delivery in the roof area, along with other items that were addressed, this was basically a saturday nite end of shift car, there is no other explaining how bad all the issues were, but the main one is this
Missing welds in the roof, pano roof surround, and not attached to the B or C pillar right side
2 options offered after engineer from Dearborn came in, basically saying dealership had no clue and they would fix, with actually the Ford Eng making it worse when they injected a expandable bonding agent into the B Pillar was this.
1- allow Ford to buy back
2- take out entire roof, cut out metal sections of roof and B pillar, replace with new sections, weld, repaint, put in new roof assembly.
Advised against option 2
