HID to LED Conversion

Guys sorry for interrupting, I’m facing the same issue now, I bought the Lincoln Continental 2017 Select without front bumper and wanted to upgrade the headlights to LED, and I have purchased all parts now the only remaining is the The Adapter Wiring Harness Cable.

Could someone suggest where I can find it :(

Appreciate it
Try EBay! I’ve been very surprised at the accessories found there.

I did it. The car not fully complete so i havent post anything. But you don't really need the wiring adopter. Because then youll have to cut all your wire on the original Harness. Just buy the wiring diagram book for the year of your car. its just three wires you can to change. It'll guard you on what wire to splice.

I am in the middle of this swap currently. But, where are you finding the lower module? I have not been able to find a single FG9T-13B626-AF.

Of course I bought the LED headlights without modules, but luckily my HIDs came with the -BF side modules. So I just need the lower one. Any help on where to search or is anyone selling them?

Thanks

Have you checked EBay? I find a ton of such modules regularly.

I've checked ebay. I've reached out to every person selling a headlight on ebay seeing if they have a module to sell. I've even called every company that has a listing for LED headlights on the car-part website. No one has one or will take it off a headlight assembly to sell. So many headlight assembly listings have the modules missing too.

What am I missing here? Where do they all go?!?

Well, I did find two modules. They are both -AD modules and they work with my stock -BF side modules. Couldn't find a single -AE so I'm glad the -AD worked just fine. Now I just need to remind the connector and they shouldn't be on all the time.

The side model is out of stock and difficult to buy. I bought a BF model in China

So with months of research I finally finished the LED Conversion. It was NOT a piece of cake. Going through wiring diagrams and a little luck got to where I am today. I love the look and brightness of the new LED Lights. All functions work from the Daytime running lights to the turn signal. It really looks awesome! Programming the Headlight control module had to be done to accomplish this task. So if you’re asking if it can be done. YES! But I would do it at your own risk. Its really not plug and play. You do have to splice into the harness.
How did u get the turn signal wire to work? What 3 wires did u have to swap and to where? Currently doing this mod any pictures or help would be greatly appreciated

My 17 year Continental had the HID adaptive headlights, my current 19 year Continental has the LED units. I much prefer the HID units as they turned with the steering, the LEDs units do not.

The difference in brightness, intensity and light throw is negligible.
Apparently they don't turn with the wheel because I heard they are self leveling instead. Is this true, I don't know. Maybe someone out there can verify this. I had a 19 MKZ with the LED option and they turned.

Hi dmorneau. I have a 2018 MKZ with the Adaptive LED headlights.
And yes, they do turn in the direction of the steering wheel, as per how the operation is described in the Owners Manual (as you day yours did/do).

In the case of the LED’s in Jeyaar456’s Continental? If I recall correctly (no time to pull up Dealer Order Guides), there were two LED headlight options. The lower tier feature was non-adaptive. The higher tier was adaptive. So my guess is he either had non-adaptive LED’s, or the adaptive function was not operating properly.

EDIT- Also, now that the DOT regulations have been changed: Many “Adaptive” headlight systems no longer “turn” in relation to the steering wheel angle. Some are now Adaptive Matrix Pixel systems. These do not physically “turn”. They adjust the light beam/beams to the steering wheel angle via various methods.

Good luck.

Hey Tony

Thanks for your reply. That’s very informative and I’m quite familiar with those wire now. So far I got one headlight with all modules and the other only had one. So almost there on that part.

I’ve always love this car after I rented one for a 5 hours drive. Best comfort. Anyway, I bought the car from a insurance auction. I am building it right now to pass New York inspection. Im thinking if I do the LED now and mess with the car computer, will that jeopardize me passing my state inspection?

So I was things of putting the regular HID on to pass the inspection before i do the LED. and your guardians will be a great help. Thank you!
Do you or anybody know on the euro led headlights which pin is for the high beam I know it's pin9 on the car but can't seem to figure it out. Doesn't seem to be pin 9 on the headlight any help would be great.

I did have to modify the harness. To be honest, it wasn't rocket science. The map of the LED 16 pin euro harness and the US one is identical. I had to switch 3 wires to get it to work. Now programming is another issue. I got as far as install. But to Reprogram the whole thing, I didn't get to it. I had to rush to put the original stuff back. I'll post the whole thing once I finish the project, but it's 100 percent doable. The low beams worked. The lincoln embrace worked And the signals worked. I'll have pictures and videos in the upcoming weeks.
What is the highest pin on the euro light
