• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1998 Town Car" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1998 Town Car" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I made a post in the Nautilus forum titled "How To Install a Device to Turn Off Auto Stop/Start Function in Lincoln Nautilus Forum / Lincoln MKX Forum."

For some reason it never posted and shows with a strike-out line through it.

What did I do wrong that it didn't post?

Thanks.
It fell into moderation after you edited the messages. Years ago, people used to sign up and create a nice, normal message to bypass spam filters - and then edit it to add their spam in. The new systems often moderate messages in these instances, just to be sure... Your topic is live here: How To Install a Device to Turn Off Auto Stop/Start Function

"Royal Palm Beach" - Nice!! I need to get back down to the "Leopard Lounge". Not a hop skip jump from Destin, but worth it!

Just sent a request via "contact us" for some help on my topic/post last night that is "awaiting approval". I'm stranded/stuck in my 97 Town Car in New Orleans and need the "experts" found here on LincolnForums!

Mucho Appreciate this outstanding resource and will be reviewing the various account types to offer my support!

Sincere Thanks, Respect Sir,

All taken care of! Even at 11:30pm on a Friday night. Now that's dedication. :p

The alternator on a modular engine family of that vintage is rather easy to replace.

Disconnect the battery + cable
Disconnect the wiring from the alternator
Move the belt tensioner and remove the belt. Note the configuration of the belt.
Remove two bolts that fasten the alternator. And remove the alternator

Reverse procedure to install
