Why would someone sell a working iphone for so little? I have 2G version that I bought as a refurb right from ATT. With the right knowledge ahead of time I was able to produce a hacked version in about 20 minutes (done drunk at the time too :hic

. Really wish I could use the T-mobile $5 plan on mine but they have no service in my area. I turned off the EDGE function so I can\'t accidentally ring up the bill, instead I rely on wireless access points when I can find unsecured ones. At least now ATT gives their customers free access at their hotspots...
Two iphones, unlimited texting, no data plan 550 minutes = $90 + tax. My son pays $20 towards the texting to support his habit

Oh, I\'m quite sure it was $20.
Here\'s the math:
Bought Iphone number 1, $300 already unlocked. Sold it to my sister for same. Learned how to unlock them, posted ad on Craigslist offering to unlock for $30. While unlocking somebody else\'s Iphone, they bought my Treo 600 right off me for $100. (I probably could have gotten more) Finally, found a girl on craigslist selling her only-used-for-2-weeks 2g for $150, NOT unlocked. Unlocked it myself, and bingo - $20 Iphone on Tmobile.
I haven\'t actually switched down to the $5 plan yet, but you can easily use it if Edge is available to you. It\'s the \"T-Zones\" internet plan, and the access IS using the edge network, you just have to set up a different APN name. I can dig around and find it if you want. I\'m currently on the $20 unlimited data plan. The trick is don\'t let them know you have an Iphone - They don\'t officially support it, and technically the $5 plan is only for crappy phones without real browsers. But the speed is still the same.
