My Corsair is in constant deep sleep mode. Had it serviced no issues found. After talking with dealership and Lincoln it seems I don't drive enough? Suggested option is trickle down charger. I don't want a car you have to plug in. I am upset with this issue. Any one have any other suggestions. I feel I should have been told this since I don't put many miles on my vehicle. I love the Corsair, but now what do I do?

Yeah, but what about the car just sitting, not being stored, for a couple weeks? It's inconvenient to do all the battery maintenance, add a trickle charger, etc., especially on a luxury car. It's not realistic, and I think Ford needs to up its electrical engineering game, given that a lot of owners don't drive that much. Like for many older owners here, there are only so many trips to the Senior Center or doctor's office or 3 PM senior dinner specials at Cracker Barrel they can take in a week. 😁

Hi tgara. 🤣 The purpose of my reply, which you quoted, was only to point out those instructions are not for day to day vehicle care...only for vehicles being stored 30 days or more, since there was already some seeming confusion.

Although this should be pretty self-explanatory after all the information provided by everyone, it never hurts to state it again: A properly working vehicle, with a good/charged battery, should be able to sit for several weeks and still start. Even if only for sporadic Cracker Barrel forays. ;)

And even then, a "Deep Sleep Mode" notification will still occur at ~day 14 of no driving, no matter what. And possible even sooner if temperatures are below freezing, or the battery was not fully charged to begin with, or the battery was weak etc. Everyone needs to understand what Deep Sleep Mode is, when it is normal for their particular situation and when it may indicate an issue which needs checking. There is no one size fits all correct answer. 🙃

Our vehicles going into Deep Sleep Mode is normal for many owners and their driving habits/environment. The notification does not necessarily mean anything is wrong with the vehicle.

My MKZ sits in the driveway, I don't keep a trickle charger on it, it sometimes sits for long stretches of a week, even two or more, in winter weather, and I never have a starting issue. As previously explained, I have received the LincolnWay app notification of "You're vehicle has gone into Deep Sleep Mode...", twice this winter. But I have read my Owners Manual (the important parts...lol), and understand what "Deep Sleep Mode" is, and the purpose.

So all of that being said...If anyone reads all of the explanations and still feels there is a problem with their vehicle battery and/or charging system, or a parasitic drain etc., and feel it should not be going into Deep Sleep mode in their case, then the intelligent next step is to set up a service appointment with their Dealership to have it checked.

Good luck. 🍻

Idk mebe I should go into deep sleep mode lol.

Hooking a battery tender in a GM car is easy as they maintain power to the cigarette lighter sockets. I use them regularly on GM cars as it just takes a minute to connect or disconnect. The Corsair GT battery under the spare tire sounds more labor intensive. How do you hook up the semi-permanent cable? The only terminal rings that come with battery tenders are for motorcycles.

What are these battery connections under the GT front hood for? The red indicates external cable OK, black indicates not OK. Yellow label points to something OK. I assume this is how you jump start car. Is it for both giving & receiving a jump? Assume yellow label is pointing towards negative jump cable body ground spot. Can you also use for battery tender?

Page 421: Keeping the 240v charging cable attached seems like the way to go. Any disagreement? Thanks.

I'd like to know this too. I have a trickle charger but not fond of having to remove the tire and locate the battery where it's more inconvenient to plug it all in.

And the manual is saying if you keep the EV charging cable plugged in, it does the same thing?

Page 421:

We recommend the following options for
your plug-in vehicle (PHEV) :

• Leave your vehicle plugged in. The 12
volt battery maintains power if left
plugged in. However, this periodically
uses electricity from the household
outlet.

• Connect a battery charger to your 12 volt
battery and leave it on a continuous, slow
charge.

• Disconnect the 12 volt battery. If your 12
volt battery is located in the luggage
compartment, do not fully shut the
luggage compartment after
disconnecting the 12 volt battery. Only
leave the luggage compartment open if
your vehicle is stored in a locked
location.

Actually it is. My other car is a BEV. Most BEVs will keep the 12v battery charged from the traction battery. You can store it for 6 months with no problems. We have a snowbird friend that does this each year.
The GT model will take electricity and keep the battery charged but you have to leave the 240v/120v charger connected. It will trickle charge the 12 volt battery when plugged in.

My 2023 Nautilus is in deep sleep mode right now because of the cold temperature. I drive it daily but it is plugged in and still won't remote start...didn't pay this much money for my Lincoln to not start in the winter because it's cold AND plugged in.

My GT is 13 months old. Pretty much an almost daily driver. Due to salty & slushy winter weather, I've been using my 13 year old Acura MDX so as to keep the Corsair garaged & fairly clean. After about a week, the app said, "Drive your vehicle to reconnect FordPass and exit battery saver mode."

I plugged the EV cable in after the GT sat for a week, EV battery previously fully charged. It charged for 1+37, adding only 0.35kWh. For EV charging, I would have got about 5.6kWh in that time period. That seems to tell me it was only charging the 12v, not the EV battery (or something else is terribly wrong).

We should've been WARNED about this! This is terrible. I dont mind the feature but someone shouldve told me. I had no warnings of a low battery and no warnings of a "deep sleep" battery conserve mode or else I wouldve bought a second key fob. I would come outside and my trunk would be open as the key fob must rub into something in my pocket while im at work, out to eat etc. one time it happened, someons stole 3k worth of belongings so I started leaving the key inside, and using the myway app to start the vehicle, and the keyless entry code (or the app) to unlock the door. I have a BLACK LABEL 2018 continental. Its been 3 days, 4 roadside assistant ppl FROM the lincoln concierge, 2 locksmiths, a tow truck to take it to the Lincoln dealer, and even THE DEALER COULD NOT GET into the car, not to mention the piss poor customer service I recieved from this dealer (4600 w broad st RVA). The dealer is the one that told me call the locksmith. Its Sunday morning now and he says Monday they will have to put it on a lift or maybe even disassemble the car. Car only came with one key fob. Im furious as this car was NOT CHEAP.

Sorry to read this. But one should never never never take delivery of a vehicle new or used with only one key fob. The anti theft is built into the pcm. Ford engineering can get at this. The trick is having a dealer with the pull, oh and the energy to dial a phone or send an email.

Dealership just called after 4 days , l(had to get a rental car) and said they can not get into the car. They told me I need to bust the window. Concierge said i have to pay for everything. Smh this is ridiculous

Why can't they get in? The fob has an actual physical key inside that will unlock the doors.

They said the physical key is electrical and the battery is now completely dead

Hi bllo. There are other ways to get into a vehicle which will not involve breaking a window, even if the physical key can not be used/is unavailable etc.

Although they should be aware of this, ask them to use a "slim-jim" or other auto entry (a.k.a. auto theft) device.

Keep us updated and good luck.

A their can probably get in about 2 seconds. Maybe google how to open door??

The fob is locked inside the car.
Ha, I missed the part where the poster intentionally leaves his one and only fob locked in the vehicle.

Well I always leave my fob in the vehicle, just not carrying that be ole clunky thing around.
Although there is one at home.

I was speaking just for myself. I'm retired, live in Florida. Last time I had long pants on was over a year ago as I traveled to Michigan in the winter......UGH.

Half the time I just wear what one might refer to as gym shorts with only two front pockets. One for my small wallet one for my phone. The fob clutters up my pockets.

Other times I wear what looks like cargo shorts. Probably room in there but na. Since it's Florida I may have more important things to put in my cargo pockets. ;)
