Corsair lead time

Syl, Sorry I did not see your question earlier. He ordered the CT5 which is a 4 door sedan not an SUV. He likes plain cars with low tech on them. I am the opposite and go high tech all the way. To each his/her own.
As sedans go, the CT5 is certainly a nice one. I think that if sedans were on my list, this one would definitely get a good look, so thumbs up to both of you! (wishing Lincoln hadn't discontinued the Continental, of course!)

The key must be ordering basic (no additional options). My GT was a Feb order with all the options except bigger tires and it's not been pulled for production yet.
Update.....just received confirmation that my Corsair GT ordered in Feb was pulled for a Production date schedule of Sept.19, 2022 and then I assume from what I've read it's 4-6 weeks after that, so maybe Nov 1st delivery? 😃
Given all the issues regarding Chips, engine fire recalls etc., I fully expect this will change of course. What's frustrating is it looks like you can order the 2023 model in Sept for Nov Production! 😡

If you are expecting the GT delivery in November, are you moving forward with the 2022 or wait for the 2023?

Best guess at this point, we're taking the'22. Waited too long to get into something that will be our springboard toward total EV. We'd go full EV today if we felt the infrastructure was there and charge times were quicker. We take 2 major trips/yr (several thousand miles) that require DC fast charging. Other than that, 99.9% of our charging would be in our garage. Plus from what I'm reading between the lines, Ford/Lincoln may have exhausted their "quota" on getting the Federal Tax advantage by year-end so we better "make hay while the sunshines". Now that may change if delivery keeps moving back on the calendar. If that happens it may make more sense to get a '23 rather than already be labeled as a year older (trade-in consideration). How this develops will be the determining factor based on delivery. Ultimately a full EV is our goal.
BTW, we considered a Tesla X, Y etc because I do feel confident that the infrastructure is in place to handle our 2x/yr DC fast charging needs. But, my DW has back issues and those seats are TERRIBLE. We have a full EV Nissan Ariya on order just in case Lincoln couldn't deliver. Once we physically get the Corsair GT that order will be cancelled or maybe completed and "flipped" if we could get a financial benefit to do so. Lots of decisions based ultimately on final delivery of the GT. Strange times out there for the Consumer!

Yes, mine was very unique and the dealer was baffled. They think it was because they had three other similarly ordered Corsair GT's on order on the same build week and Lincoln combined them so a truck was mostly filled coming to Ted Britt in Chantilly. Who really knows. They are the 4th largest Lincoln dealer on the East Coast and that has a bearing too. My friend just ordered an exact copy of my 22 GT and his delivery date is 5 months. So, the dealer said all other orders after mine were about 4-5 months.

Maybe Ford just really like you! ;-)

Question on the tax credit. I bought my GT in January of this year but can’t get the tax credit until I file taxes next year. Will that disappear before I file? Anyone know what they will do?

Not 100% sure, but my understanding is if you bought and own the qualifying vehicle before the manufacturer's credit allocation has dropped, you are in for the whole amount (assuming you have enough income tax obligation for '22. to offset)

We ordered our Corsair GT 2/22. Got an email this past Thursday while on vacation with production set for week of 8/29. We will try to stay optimistic but this has been a long frustrating experience!

I don’t understand how the ordering and build dates work. PADoc ordered the GT on in 2/22 and has a build date of 8/29.

I ordered on 4/4 and have a build date of 8/15.

don’t understand why mine is build before PADoc’s GT!

Typically, its these two things.
  • Allocation (does your dealer have allocation for a Corsair/GT)
  • constraints (parts availability - the more options, more the parts and more chance of it being put off until the next preview/build date. )

I ordered a corsair Jan 15, should be built week Aug 1, , got frustrated and bought a Nautilus instead, very disappointed in Lincoln, getting to much from China, Good luck!!

Have a GT that I ordered from a high-volume dealer on Jun 3rd , tenitive build week of 8/15. Conversely, I've had a Bronco reserved/ on order for two years. :/

Hi Capps. Sorry about your wait. However, this has nothing to do with "getting too much from China". All vehicle manufacturers are experiencing commodity, parts, supply and transportation shortages. Just as we are experiencing shortages and supply issues with all sorts of simple items in life other than vehicles. And for all sorts of commodities, parts and supplies which have nothing to do with China.

I had a 42 week wait for a custom La-Z-Boy recliner, which would normally have an 8 week wait. Just got it 1 week ago. And it did was not manufactured in, had parts from, or come from China. ;)

And just as the entire world is experiencing the same shortages for a multitude of products.

Hope you will be happy with your Nautilus and good luck.

Ford just done a deal with China on the batteries for the evs, so I am pretty sure the chips and other parts are coming from China too. They have gone woke just like most of the big companies!!! We need to bring back manufacturing back to America!!! We have just started having most shortages in last 18 months, (Biden)

Hi Capps. Ford and all automakers do "deals" with many countries...lol

And your chip info is mistaken. So to repeat the known facts (not what we are "pretty sure" of): All vehicle manufacturers are experiencing commodity, parts, supply and transportation shortages. Just as we are experiencing shortages and supply issues with all sorts of simple items in life other than vehicles. And for all sorts of commodities, parts and supplies which have nothing to do with China.

Nevertheless...one of the great things about this forum is that politics and political views are left out of the threads of other people. And off the forum in general.

If you wish to discuss politics and political views, you should start your own separate thread in the "Lincoln Owners and Enthusiast Lounge" sub-forum, where others can join in the discussion if they wish. But not hijack the threads of others. It is impolite.

Again, hope you are happy with your Nautilus, and good luck.

Great réponse. I was about to say the same thing. I have many well to do friends that have ordered Cadillac, Audi, Mercedes, and Lexus cars lately and they all have the same problems. Sales are down dramatically across the board. I have one buddy of mine who bought an Audi last year and it was delivered with a missing chip that controlled the entertainment system. This is an $80k vehicle with a non-working entertainment system (keeps crashing within minutes of playing a song) He was promised the chip would get installed in weeks. Weeks turned into months and a year later he got an attorney and negotiated return of the car and full refund of all costs. Audi told him they are having severe problems with chip shortages. He promptly ordered an exact copy of my Corsair GT with a ship date in 4 months. He spend time analyzing my 22 GT and said the build quality was far better than the Audi and the car was so much better equipped. He also loved the plugin hybrid option.

This is all fine , but all manufacturers are getting parts and chips from China period!!! Why do do think they just done a bull in congress to supplement the chip industries, to come back to the USA!! Ford can build bombers in WWII AT A RATE Of 1000’s a month and can not build a car in less than six months , we have a problem Houston!! America needs to stand up for America not China!! I am not buying your position!! Wake up!!
