Beware Lincoln Concierge Tow Service

If not already said, sounds like you need to find a good lawyer! Certainly unfortunate circumstances for sure. But you probably will continue to get nowhere without someone who knows the right buttons to push. Good luck.

There is no Tow Company . I contacted Lincoln Concierge I was away on vacation far from home . They took care of everything found a dealership in my general area and set up a tow with their on call . The car was taken without me being there as I had told Lincoln when this was set up . When the damage was reported to Lincoln they led me to believe they would handle it . Two weeks went by and then they said they could not identify the road service who took my car . How ridiculous is that ? I do nothing wrong , besides contacting Lincoln , then get stuck with the bill

Hi MrRobusto. You did nothing wrong. However, what everyone is explaining is that there was/is a tow company.

Lincoln does not have tow trucks, nor do most of their Dealerships. Lincoln Roadside Assistance simply contracts with a company that handles contracting out the roadside assistance calls to local tow companies. It would have been a relatively local tow company (Or as you called it, their "on call") that came and towed your vehicle to the Dealership.

It would simply be a local towing company that tows cars, any cars, not just Lincolns, as their business.

Good luck.

There is a tow company because Lincoln Motor Company does not tow vehicles and they own no tow trucks. The only way for your vehicle to be moved is with a tow truck company either contracted by Lincoln or by you. It seems inconceivable that an unrelated (tow) company or individual would move your vehicle to a Lincoln Dealership at random.

In any event, while you were not with your vehicle, your vehicle was damaged by an unknown party. No one is stepping up and stating that they are responsible for the damage. (The dealership or an unknown tow company) So the scenario is the same as your vehicle was parked on a public street unattended and an unknown party caused damage. It is suspected that the damage was caused by a assumed party, however you were not there and there are no witnesses and no one has confessed to the damage. Given that scenario with no other stated data, your insurance company (if you have insurance) would be the party that steps up and restores the vehicle to pre-damaged condition as best as possible. They will also be the party that seeking the party that has liability, If they wish to pursue, your insurance company will arrange to bill or collect damages for the event on your behalf. I believe that is called subrogation.

Action

There IS a tow company or road service as you mentioned in your post because they were called to tow the vehicle. Just because Lincoln refuses to identify them doesn't mean they don't exist.

Most "wreckers" today are flatbeds--totally open. My money is on damage at the dealership. To me that damage suggests that the vehicle was either backed up with the door open and it hung up on something...or, the door was opened while another vehicle was pulling into the spot next to it. Whatever the case, it was damaged by unbelievable stupidity.

Thanks Peter,
I've been "lurking" for a year or so, but haven't seen much opportunity to contribute. I frequent the Ford Expedition and truck forums mostly.
