My 2019 nautilus battery keeps going dead. I took it to the garage, they “worked “ on it all day. Only thing they came up with was, was to install a new battery . That hasn’t fixed the problem. Any ideas on what’s draining the battery? Any one else having this issue?

I Just got off the phone with the dealership. Basically, they told me that all the testing was normal, by Lincoln protocol standards. They said I need to drive it more than 15 minutes, in order to keep the electrical system charged. I told them that I do drive it more than that. The service department manager told me that I could bring it up again, and they can put it on the draw monitor again. He told me the care needs to be driven more than every 2-3 days, in order to keep it charged. I told him that I really don't agree. I told him that a $60,000, car, bought new in 2019,, should start and not have these issues. I told him that ,what if you go on vacation and leave the car in the airport parking lot for 14 days, which we have with our other cars. This issue has been going on close to a year now. My expectation is for the car to start, so you mean to tell me that this car would be dead when we arrived back at the airport, because it hasn't been driven more than every 2-3 days? He had no answer for me. Actually, he had no answer for any of my cars issues. So I left it as I'm going to talk to my husband and figure out what our next step will be. I was thinking of call the Lincoln Company's customer service.

Hi Denise. Yes, call Lincoln Concierge and open a case. A properly working vehicle should be able to sit for two weeks and keep a charge sufficient to start (assuming it is driven enough to keep the battery charged otherwise).

Plus, they had your vehicle several days, tested it, said it was okay, you drove it home and it was dead the next morning? What was the Service Manager's explanation for that? I know...rhetorical question.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I just talked to the Lincoln Concierge. He told me to take the car to a different dealership and have them call him. He will take care of it from there. We shall see!

Hi Denise. Okay. Let us know how things go and good luck!

Update: Well it’s been a week since taking my car to a different dealership. The battery hasn’t been drained. They changed a faulty module , that operated lights, and updated the system.the issue was found while the car was on a draw testing of the battery. It’s hard to believe that my old dealership couldn’t find this problem. They did the same testing three times! Thanks for your help!

Hi Denise, I'm a newbie here and hope I'm not violating any rules with this post. The wife and I recently bought a new 2020 Nautilus. We are elderly and retired. We don't drive very much due to the on going PLANdemic. So far our Lincoln has been flawless. I would try another Dealer or call Customer service and have them take care of it. Sounds like your Dealer is just running a code scan! Good luck & keep us posted with your results.

Wow, I’m having exact same issue with my 2019 Nautilus lease. I’m looking for my next car now and wondering if this has been solved on newer models

It's a simple test, the battery drawdown test, but it takes time and patience. Guess the first dealer didn't have either.

Thank you, I will do that!
I'm having the same problem. 2018 MKX, had a new battery installed by lincoln service two weeks ago and it happened again today and is sitting at lincoln service center right now.

2017 MKX, took mine to Lincoln service 3 weeks ago for dead battery. They ran diagnostics and said the hatch lock sensor was reporting that hatch was not closed and was keeping the canbus system active causing a battery slow drain. It's now back at the dealer because of the same problem, battery dead after 3 days. They told me the 3 body control modules needed the software updating as they were not communicating properly ($600 bill)
Now seat controls don't work after battery drain.
New Interstate battery in April, so doubt it's a battery problem.
Waiting for dealer to call and tell me what's wrong.

Thanks for update. I'm waiting for Monday to come so I can get some answer then. I need my car back by Wednesday or their finding me one.
I'll post more when I know, thanks.

You are right and the dealer rep is wrong.
I have an '18 MKX and don't drive it much. It has under 7,000 miles on it. I replaced the original battery a few months ago because the battery failed.
I checked it for battery drain and all is good. The car starts every time we use it.

I agree my MKX should be driven more often. When I do drive it I take the long way to my destination just drive more than 15 minutes and allow the battery to get charged back up. I also agree that driving short runs is not good for the battery or the engine either.

Yes, it is good to drive your Nautilus every 2 or 3 days to keep the battery topped off. However your car should start even if you let it sit for 2 or 3 weeks.
I have an '18 MKX and it has only 7,000 miles on it. Obviously it does not get driven often enough but it always starts.

2014 MKS and this has suddenly become a problem. First thought was battery, replaced that. Did it again so I took it to the dealer and had a diagnostic run that said it was the alternator, replaced that. Now it's doing it again.

Sounds like they are guessing. They should test each fuse connection and see where the drain is, all power runs through the fuses, doesn't it?

This may not be directly related to the conversation, but I had a dead battety last week. Checked it and found a nice growth of green crud growing on the positive terminal. This corrosion can (and will) provide a path for leakage and drain a battery. (Last I remember looking at this, it was just a tinge of growth and not a big concern).

Anyway I cleaned it off with a can of Coke and jumped the battety with a gel jumper. Started right up. Tested the battety and it showed 12.4 volts car off, 14.6 volts running and 354 CCA. (650 CCA rated).

Even though the cause was directly related to the surface corrosion and the battety was still good, I decided to replace it.

$140 at the local dealer and used my Lincoln points to get it for free. (Use them or lose them).

Its easy to forget that the surface contaminants can cause a battery to discharge. Even overnight as in my case. Had the shop spray the terminals to prevent further corrosion, wasn't happy with what I seen so I bought a good battery terminal spray and sprayed the terminals myself. Just to be certsin.

Just received our 2016 MKX back from the dealer after they have had it for 11.5 months trying to identify and correct the battery drain problem. Initially started with the passenger door mirror "clicking" and not orienting itself properly and the passenger rear window not operating with any control switch. Well after we got the car back reportedly correcting these items, the battery died overnight. Called out recovery service to transport to local dealer who replaced the battery and said that was the cause. Took it home but dead battery the next day. This happened 2 more times then they replaced the alternator and battery. Same thing again. anyway, long story short, they reportedly did pin out tests over the entire car over the next six months, replaced most of the control modules but still no joy. Dealer then called in lincoln regional tech to help them out, still with no resolution so called Lincoln concierge in January and they really started from scratch again. Got the vehicle back June 9th and today, the passenger door mirror once again "clicking" and not moving to operating position. Here we go again... this is what started the whole episode almost a year ago! Certified used car warranty has been used throughout the past, almost year, and we have had numerous loaner cars in the meantime but this expires in September so wonder how many times we can repeat this cycle?????????
