Another Engine Cover Question

Sounds like typical sales rep BS. They cut it strictly to save a few bucks.
It would be epic if all sales reps just said "I honestly don't know" rather making something up.

Does sound like salesman BS, but we have been told that the reason is because of excess heat in the engine bays because of the covers. So, if you believe, and have a link saying so, that Ford/Lincoln is lying and is trying to save a few bucks, I'd like to see it.

This topic is so stupid at this point. Gnashing of teeth over something ridiculous.

I have had my '22 Nav since April 22. I have opened the hood maybe 5 times. Maybe. I don't miss seeing the cover in there.

I tend to agree. I hate the way it looks without the engine cover but once I get my GT I'll have a decision to make, cover or no cover?? Hmm 🤔

Agree. I’d ask the salesman that if that was the case, why does Lincoln still install the cover on the Nautilus engine.

I added the cover to my '21 2.0, then it got totaled 7 months later. I am not planning on adding it to my '22 Reserve.

While I am annoyed that Lincoln deleted it, I am more annoyed with the interior changes that left the front door panels with hard plastic in the upper door panel on these high end models. The 20's have nice soft touch panels there.

I rarely open the hood and decided I don't car what it looks like in there when it is closed. :)

Installed engine cover today. There are several threaded mounting posts. I attached it to the top left hole in the cover using the ball stub then pushed the cover down over the mounting posts. It fit snugly. Drove the car no issues with the cover shifting or moving Then I tested it putting some talcum powder on each corner, of the cover, closed the hood to see if it touched the hood. There was no rubbing. I may buy a spare ball stud just in case I would need another attachment point. So I bought the cover part no. K2GZ 6A949 B. Cost $114.05. Part number for ball stud AA5Z 6N958 A. Cost $17.56. Looks so much better with the cover. By the way this is the same engine cover that is used on the Nautilus 2.0. The Nautilus still comes with the cover so there should be no heat build up issue. Every model year change manufacturers go to great length to remove items or change configurations just to save a few bucks and upcharge the customer. Thats what happens when you have bean counters calling the shots instead of real car people.
