Thank you very much mister Perk. I'm going to try to attempt to debrief everyone on how well all the systems are working as soon as i get a little more driving time.. prob not this weekend because of rain in North ALA.

10/26 I ordered my vehicle from the dealer
10/28 Order confirmed by Lincoln
3/24 Scheduled build date
3/19 In Production (early)
3/29 Built - Your 2025 Navigator L Black Label has been built. We are performing some final inspections and preparing to ship it to your Lincoln Retailer.
Just waiting for shipping now

EDD is still - 3/28-4/03.

I'm hoping by the end of next week I can pick it up, but my dealer did say it could sit at the rail yard for a few days before a transportation truck comes to pick it up for delivery to the dealership.

Does anyone know if the dealership can have people test drive the vehicle you ordered if you can't pick it up right away? I leave for vacation soon as well and I'm starting to worry it won't be ready before I leave and it won't be until I return I'll be able to collect it. And I'm worried they'll let interested people test drive it if it's sitting there.

I would think the dealer would honor your request to not have the vehicle driven.
I wish you luck.... This waiting game can be frustrating at times for sure. I just keep telling myself it will be worth the wait "Just get it right and to the dealer safely".

My dealer has one on the showroom floor that is sold. The buyer is out of town, and they will not let anyone test drive it. Hoping that is The same for yours. I surely wouldn’t want anyone driving mine either.

Usually if the vehicle is ordered and ready for delivery, they won't let anyone drive it. They may let them sit in it though if theres no other vehicles of your type on the lot.

Thanks everyone. I don't mind the sitting in and looking, but I'd really prefer minimal miles and no risk to something happening to it if it's taken out. I know it has to be driven to during transportation here and there and my dealership will have a mechanic take it out for a test drive to be sure everything is working properly.
I'll send the dealership an email tomorrow double checking!

Hi Daysie. There are two ways to approach the question of “…if the dealership can have people test drive the vehicle you ordered if you can't pick it up right away.”

- Should they allow shoppers to test drive a customer ordered vehicle that is on their lot? No. And most reputable Dealers will not allow it.
- Can they allow shoppers to test drive it? Well, the reality is a less reputable dealer can do whatever they want if no one is watching.

If you are worried about that possibility, you can speak with the Sales Manager before you leave for vacation, and ask them to please not allow any test drives of the vehicle. They should tell you something to the effect of, “No, of course we would not allow that”.

Did you experience anything like this?

actually, i took delivery Friday, 2 days after dealer received it. I haven't heard anything from Lincoln yet. really the only question I have so far is why the tachometer doesn't show on the dash screen, and nowhere to turn it on.
