My Lincoln
2025 Navigator L
I've had my 2025 Navigator L for almost 2 months exactly (purchased April 10, 2025). Overall love it, but have had several glitches / issues and thought it might be helpful for us all to list these out as I expect many of us will experience the same problems! So far...
  1. Heat / AC controls went out - I couldn't adjust the heat/air, heated/cooled seats, etc. The vents were blowing hot air and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to stop or switch. I tried powering off the car, leaving it off for >1 hour, using voice controls, etc. but it just kept blowing hot air.
    • I got this to work by disconnecting the battery. After taking the cable off one terminal, I waited about 30 seconds, reconnected it, and the car went back to operating normally. Only has happened one time so far.
  2. Front passenger massaging seat - randomly (and fairly often) the front passenger seat massaging seat will not start. It looks like it is turned on when you press the button or go into the option from the screen, but it is just frozen. Have only noticed this on the front passenger side, not drivers side
    • I have not found a solution for this. It will usually start working on its own eventually.. not sure how long it takes, probably 5 minutes or so...
  3. Rear liftgate will not open - the liftgate won't open using any of the buttons (in the front of the car, the button on the liftgate, or the remote). When I press the button at the front of the car, it says the liftgate is ajar (it isn't). It makes the sounds as if it is going to open, but just remains shut.
    • This is a new one today and I haven't had a chance to investigate further yet. I'll probably try disconnecting the battery and see if that resets everything.
  4. Map on top dash would not come up / BlueCruise would not work on interstate - I couldn't get the BlueCruise option to come up on a stretch of interstate where I've used it several times. I also couldn't get the map to display on the top screen even with the option enabled.
    • I had installed Waze through the google play store. This was the first time I tried using it directly through the vehicle (vs through Apple CarPlay). It seems like that somehow messed up the vehicle map/bluecruise, because after I exited Waze everything started working fine again

I'll add to this list if I learn more on any of these or if new issues pop up. Admittedly it is a bit annoying to have to make sure I have a socket set in the car at all times and have to make my wife comfortable with disconnecting the battery since you never know if these issues are going to pop up during a trip.... Shouldn't have that lack of confidence in a vehicle, especially at this cost. And yes I know, new model so I am one of the guinea pigs...

Wow. Guess I am really lucky. Have had mine for a month, put 2,500 miles on it to get ready to tow. No problems except my lack of knowledge on the electronics. One the dealer couldn't help with, but the Lincoln support team did, was I couldn't add a profile for my wife. Turns out that Profile 2 & 3 we already activated although empty. I deleted the two profiles and then everything worked fine. Good thing I haven't had any problems as I am 8 hours away from the dealer.

Lift gate issue -
If it is like the lift gate on my Gen II Nabi, then the liftgate will never open until it completely closes.
Once the liftgate starts the close/latch cycle, it has to finish it before the system takes a new command to open.
If it doesn't finish, the system will not open!

The close cycle can be stopped because of an obstruction.
Or because of a gate adjustment
Or because the sensor is not adjusted.

I have not experienced the last two, only the first one.
Except a period about 5 or 6 years ago. During that time I needed to push the gate the last fraction of an inch and I could hear it close.
That no longer happens and I have no clue as to what happened.
I do know that a complete close involves two clicks. These are separated by about a second or two. I hear the two clicks and the gate is completely closed.

One other thing that happens is someone using the SUV or thinks they are being helpful and they manually "help" the gate move up or down.
The problem with that is the system thinks that is an obstruction and stops. Then it takes a bit to resync the system. Generally I wait a moment or so and operate the system from the button in the overhead consul.

Not sure if this helps. Good luck.

The TSB applies to 2022-2023 Expedition/Navigator

Power Liftgate Not Fully Opening When The Vehicle Is Locked - Built On Or Before 13-May-2023 Some 2022-2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 13-May-2023 may exhibit the power liftgate not fully opening when the vehicle is locked. This may be due to rear gate trunk module (RGTM) software. To correct this condition, reprogram the RGTM using the latest version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming, use casual part 14b291 and the applicable labor operations of Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

I believe there may be one for earlier built vehicles as well.

Glad you have been enjoying it so far and hope you don't run into any issues! We love ours as well and even with these couple of glitches still very happy we bought it.

I don't know if it's related, but on my 24 Navigator L model, occasionally when picking up groceries at Walmart the lift gate will fail to close all the way when I push the button next to the headlamps or the attendant pushes the button on the lift gate. There is no physical obstruction and it stops after lowering only a few inches. I'm not aware of any sensor but the only thing I can see is the plastic bags maybe hanging out past the back?

Maybe happenstance but I push the plastic back behind the line of sight and hit the close button on the lift gate and it then closes normally.

Biggest glitches in mine so far …
- Sirius XM radio internet channels constantly skip/glitch out. I had Sirius on speed dial and after weeks of going thru them, I started driving other cars with channel numbers 500+, and noticed it is only on my Navi. Have called Lincoln several times and all they do is have you do the Sync reset which works until you turn your car off, then back to square one
-Blue Cruise is sporadic at best and the fact there aren’t many miles available with it in Wisconsin makes it hard for them to even try and troubleshoot
- Driver side cooling fan in the seat, only works when it wants too. Easy to tell when it isn’t working, because the Navi is much quieter. Loudest seat fans in the world and they are anemic when they do work compared to the quieter and cooler seat fans that GM and Jeep use

Most annoying thing of all of this, the dealer. 5 trips to the dealer and all 3 issues they admit the car is likely experiencing, but if they don’t witness it happening several times in the day when they have my car, they won’t put a claim in to have Ford pay for it.

Beyond frustrating when you fork out $100k+ and you are treated like you bought a $5000 car they don’t wanna fix.

So much for Farley’s constant speech about initial quality the past few years….

Question for you. Does your open on approach work? If you have your phone as key or fob in your pocket or hand and approach the tailgate, it should open. Ours doesn’t and the dealer has two more 2025 black labels on lot that do not work. Dealer is working with Detroit to find a fix. All other things are working, as far as I can tell at this point. We did lease the car (never did that before) because of potential issues.
