Is anyone having issue with the speed limit showing on the gauge cluster not matching the actual speed until a speed sign is detected? I have noticed in at least the last week or so that the dash will show the speed say 40 when I leave home and will not change when I turn onto a 60 road until the car detects a speed sign. I noticed that the center screen is not showing the speed on the map anymore, so I am thinking that google isn't getting the speed signs for some reason. Use to work just fine until I think the last update. I am not 100% what version I am running though. It might not be the latest version everyone is talking about.

Anyone else experience this? I did so a reboot of the system when I first saw this, as I was experiencing a huge issue with BlueCruise at the same time and thought that would fix it, but didn't.

There are some theories out there that if a speed sign isn't detected that Lincoln is pulling the speed limit from Google Maps. I am 100% sure that if the car does detect a speed limit sign that it ignores Google Maps' speed limit. But it may be using Google Maps if it doesn't see a sign. Check the Google Maps speed limit for the road of interest and see if the theory is right.

Hi SeanD. Is this happening while using the native, Google based NAV system, or is it happening while using Google Maps via your connected phone?

I have found over time that most issues which occur while using apps via the phone, whether NAV apps, music apps etc., are usually due to a bug which the app creator needs to correct, not due to a bug in the vehicle software. This would be the same now that the NAV system is also Google based with more frequent OTA updates (as opposed to the once a year updates of previous SYNC versions).

As an example: After years of working correctly, I suddenly had a problem where Pandora music stopped displaying the current music station being played, at the top of the list. This went on for months, until I noticed Pandora put out an update, and POOF, it corrected the issue. As it turned out, a previous update (which I had not noticed) caused the issue, so a new update was needed to fix the issue. And all that time, I believed it was a SYNC system/vehicle issue.

This sounds like it may be a similar issue, where Google will need to provide an update to fix what a previous update broke. Especially since it seems you felt it worked correctly before.

If that is the case, no amount of SYNC system resets will fix the issue.

Again, this is simply an educated guess from past experience.

If you still feel this is a vehicle problem (as opposed to a third party software problem), schedule a service appointment so you can demonstrate the issue to them. In this way Lincoln can be made aware of a problem.

I’m sure others will also jump in to help, so keep us updated and good luck.

My car doesn't get anything from Google maps at all. When I first start the car the speed sign in the cluster shows a dash until a speed sign is detected. The dash never corrects itself until a sign appears. Google maps in the center unit does not show speed at all.

I checked today and I do have the latest APIM update, just the gateway update from a couple weeks ago. Checked to see if there was an update and it says I'm u7p to date, but I am not.

Hi SeanD. Just to avoid confusion … The native NAV map database in the 2025 Nautilus is obtained via Google/Google maps.

So as an example: In your description/situation, where it seems you are stating you are running no other map app via apps or a connected phone etc., the map database is via Google Maps.

Good luck.

Yes I know the car uses google maps. Google maps is not getting the speed. It is not showing the current speed limit in the center screen, like it did when I first purchased the car. Phone is connected to the car and google map navigation inquiries from phone work to the screen. Just no speed limits displaying until the car see a new sign

Hi SeanD. Yes, I understood the issue when you first posted. My initial reply was attempting to offer you one possible reason why this has occurred, and why it was not corrected when you reset the infotainment in your Nautilus.

Good luck.

Do you mean the 12.1 inch display?

My vehicle picks up the road designation sign. Drove across Florida to Fort Meyers, while on Hwy 80 camera picked up the 80 put that number up as the speed limit.

Yes. On new sections of highways where the speed signs have not yet been installed, I noted that 40MPH seems to be the default limit. Annoying when on cruise control and the vehicle reduces speed.
