Is anyone having issue with the speed limit showing on the gauge cluster not matching the actual speed until a speed sign is detected? I have noticed in at least the last week or so that the dash will show the speed say 40 when I leave home and will not change when I turn onto a 60 road until the car detects a speed sign. I noticed that the center screen is not showing the speed on the map anymore, so I am thinking that google isn't getting the speed signs for some reason. Use to work just fine until I think the last update. I am not 100% what version I am running though. It might not be the latest version everyone is talking about.
Anyone else experience this? I did so a reboot of the system when I first saw this, as I was experiencing a huge issue with BlueCruise at the same time and thought that would fix it, but didn't.
Hi SeanD. Is this happening while using the native, Google based NAV system, or is it happening while using Google Maps via your connected phone?
I have found over time that most issues which occur while using apps via the phone, whether NAV apps, music apps etc., are usually due to a bug which the app creator needs to correct, not due to a bug in the vehicle software. This would be the same now that the NAV system is also Google based with more frequent OTA updates (as opposed to the once a year updates of previous SYNC versions).
As an example: After years of working correctly, I suddenly had a problem where Pandora music stopped displaying the current music station being played, at the top of the list. This went on for months, until I noticed Pandora put out an update, and POOF, it corrected the issue. As it turned out, a previous update (which I had not noticed) caused the issue, so a new update was needed to fix the issue. And all that time, I believed it was a SYNC system/vehicle issue.
This sounds like it may be a similar issue, where Google will need to provide an update to fix what a previous update broke. Especially since it seems you felt it worked correctly before.
If that is the case, no amount of SYNC system resets will fix the issue.
Again, this is simply an educated guess from past experience.
If you still feel this is a vehicle problem (as opposed to a third party software problem), schedule a service appointment so you can demonstrate the issue to them. In this way Lincoln can be made aware of a problem.
I’m sure others will also jump in to help, so keep us updated and good luck.
