2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

Been lucky so far at the airport. Two different occasions left Nautilus parked 5 days, Hybrid so it has the little lawn tractor battery. Left a jump pack in back floor just in case. Started up both times. Have a 8 day trip coming up so a new adventure.

My 2024 hybrid lemon has been driven daily yet ive had a completely dead car twice in 3 months.

I realize it will be inconvenient but you must get your vehicle to the dealer every time this happens. There must be a record of what is happening. Keep the service visit paper copies. If this continues without Lincoln being able to fix it. See about a buyback. If they fix it all good.

Although I have not had many reboots but I am considering creating a google account such as 24NautXXXXX@gmail.com where the XXXXX is part of the VIN. I would still connect the phone but the Lincoln software would not be using my personal account since in theory it can access messages, etc.. I limited permissions to a minumum. The idea is to reduce possible interaction and provide more separation between google Naut and google phone. It may be equivalennt to how iphone users connect,.

I am going to turn off my phone sometime soon and see exactly what I can see and do with the car signed using my google account.

I am trying to decide what I need to do.

I see several paths...
1. delete account in my lincoln app and go through Lincoln app if possible or do I have to do factory reset?
2. I can change the email address in web site but not sure if this is separate from vehicle.

I have posted before. You don't need a phone or a cell service plan to access the Lincoln Connected Services. The first year is included. Don't know what the ongoing fee will be. As a test, turn your cell phone data off and you will see nearly everything connects to the cloud through Lincoln Connected Services including Google Maps and Search, Waze, Spotify and Amazon Music. SiriusXM connects though satellite; a 90-day free trial and then subscription required. If your phone is connected via Bluetooth, you will still get all your messages as those don't use cellular data. The only service that absolutely has to have a cellular data connection is Apple CarPlay including its maps and music.

Drove my '24 Hybrid Reserve II on a few short trips daily from August 3rd until 18:29 on August 7th when my Antigravity Battery Tracker Plus registered a low 12.27 volts, 64% SoC (State of Charge) with a Warning to Charge Soon (nothing from car). I then plugged in my NOCO Genius10 charger (direct to battery connection with negative connected prior to BMS Chip, not on battery post per tech guidance and many here). I was able to let the car remain untouched until this morning, August 9th. Untouched meaning; not driven, sitting in my garage, locked, both fobs in faraday pouches, phone as a key disconnected, and no access the the Lincoln Way app (with one short exception mid-day on August 8th when I had to lift the rear hatch to get something in needed). I wanted to see how the charger and battery performed throughout this time period and as you can see from the battery tracker graphs below...it is pretty interesting (at least to me it is).
Note...I purchased the car mid-May, experienced a Deep Sleep mode in mid-July while car was at an auto detailer that caused door switches to not recognize the key fobs. That issue was fixed by dealer along with recalls for injectors (24B23) and VDM update (24P14). Recall 24P08, which I believe is the one to address some of these battery issues was "on hold" and not done. We have a little over 4,000 miles on the car.
The two peaks on Aug 7 were 2 short drives before the battery continued to trend down and plugging charger in at 18:29. The car remained untouched until around 11:30 on the 8th to unlock and open the lift gate for 1 minute and close. It's interesting to see the charger ramp up to 100% SoC (around 14.5 volts), drop off, up again to 100%, then stair-step down just before opening lift gate, back up to around 85%, then jump to around 92 and then down to what appears to be a maintenance charge of 87% (note the short and quick Voltage peaks to 14.5 that stabilize at 12.8 volts).
I plan to share this info with my Ford/Lincoln dealer and NOCO to see what they think and will report back. It's possible my 12 volt battery may not fully recover from the effects of the Deep Sleep mode (which may have been a complete discharge that can't be confirmed by my auto detailer).

As I noted in another thread, we have 2,200 miles, no 'battery' issues until once death sleep on July 7. Once recovered, it has been fine since. We have it in for service now and they said the battery is bad and are replacing it. Could that one drain have damaged the battery?

A little piece of me thinks the battery never survived the 3 month trip from the factory to the dealer.

I hooked up a brand new fully charged NOCO Boost GB40. Apparently, that's not strong enough to jump start the Nautilus' 80-amp battery. Couldn't even illuminate the instrumentation

I would like to know why your noco was not able to start it. The specs say it should unless the jumper was not charged. Gives me no confidence in the product.

If a battery is completely drained, a jump box may not work. Even a car jump may not work. The battery voltage has to be brought up high enough to engage the starter and turn the engine. The jump box can't do that if the battery load is pulling it down.

The best you can do is leave it hooked and let it 'charge' the low battery for a while.

I would like to if left attached if it could have revived it. Usually when I had batteries that could not be jumped they could not be revived.

The NOCO Boost GB40 was brand new and fully charged. Using the information in the Nautilus owner's manual for the non-hybrid ICE model (pages 352-354), the positive booster cable was connected to the battery positive post after releasing the plastic cover, the negative booster cable was first connected to the negative ground point on the chassis immediately to the side of the battery. No engine response. I then tried to connect to the battery negative post, but that is nearly inaccessible. Again, no start, no turnover, no instrumentation. The roadside assistance large portable charger started the engine on the first press of the car's start button. Those are 200V or more.
My conclusion: don't waste your money on one of these jump starters, even one rated at 100V. I don't think they have enough power to start one of these 80 amp 800 CCA batteries. I won't return the NOCO Boost; will just use it as a battery backup for my PC and phone in the event of frequent utility power outages.
Maybe the NOCO Genius trickle charger maintainer would have been a better choice. Still, none of this should be required on a new car.
I will dump this piece of crap within a year, an advantage of purchasing over leasing. I am actively looking for one of the last production, left-over 2023 Nautilus' or some other model without all this high-tech crap, no Google OS, no autonomous driving, and with real buttons and knobs.

Here's my Voltage and SoC after a couple of short trips today 15:00 to 16:00 and sitting for 2 hours.

Your voltages are close to what I see. In monitoring, the noco does not initiate a maintenance cycle until it is 12.4V, Noco stated it is working properly but it seems lower than what I would expect. Short trips seem to really drain the battery.

noco makes great claims that the noco. I am disappointed. It does have one of those "up to" claims. I was considering getting one.

I had service a couple days ago to have 24B09 performed, and while at the dealer they also performed 24P14 (reprogram VDM) and "Performed recall 24P08 program driver status monitor camera."

So they either didn't know or didn't care that 24P08 is on hold, but it doesn't yet look like it broke anything. Fingers crossed. I haven't had any previous battery problems, and the multipoint inspection says that my battery tested good.

And, like RetiredGuyinFL's experience, they also installed new rear shocks per 24P07. My shocks were quiet, but yay for preventive maintenance, I guess.

I was researching jumpers and now leaning toward the GOOLOO GT4000 priced at around $100 compared to the more expensive noco gb70.

Today's report. I have been away for 2 days (not with Nautilus) and came home and checked Nauti battery voltage. Opened door to pop hood. I did hear a sound under hood but no interior lights, etc. I wondered if it was dead. I checked voltage and battery was 11.92v so close to when I left. I put on the noco. I guess i should have tried to start it. I believe it is still in long term sleep mode since i have driven in almost 2 weeks.

BTW: I did find the Battery Management procedure in the 2024 manual. It’s buried in the Maintenance section on page 387 I think it was. After a jump or battery change, car must be locked and not disturbed for 8 hours to accurately reset what the state of the battery is and readjust how it is charged when driving.
