2024 Lincoln Nautilus alarm detection

Hi DonLew. Don’t take this as the final word, and if I am mistaken, other members will certainly jump in:
If I recall correctly: For safety purposes, I believe the Interior Motion Sensor default is to reset to ON upon each restart. So it is not your choice of locking method.

There should be a programmable display option to have your vehicle ask if you want the Interior Motion Sensor set to ON or OFF, upon each vehicle shut off.

These features can vary by vehicle and model year, so I would recommend you check your Owners Manual for your particular vehicle.

I’m sure others will also jump in to help, so keep us updated and good luck.
Yes there is an option for the interior motion sensor to only ask if you want to set to on or off. There is an option to turn this question on or off as well. Plus there is an option to turn the motion sensor off on the screen. I assume from your statement "For safety purposes, I believe the Interior Motion Sensor default is to reset to ON upon each restart" also applies to this option as well.
Thanks, DonL

Hi DonLew. Okay, here are my thoughts, if you wish to turn off the Interior Motion Sensor:
You need to choose to have the question continue to pop-up on each engine shut-off. Then you can choose to turn it off when you leave the vehicle.

To my knowledge, there is no way to make the default be OFF for the Interior Motion Sensor.

There may be a way to turn it off permanently using FORScan software, but I will step aside and leave that to one of our FORScan gurus to elaborate on.

Hope that information helps, and good luck.

Thanks bbf2530,
We just got back from several errands and I had reset the motion sensor to ask each time I turned off the car. No alarm detection notifications occurred. If this actually relives the problem I think a consultation with the a service tech about how sensitive the thing is should be had. We leave nothing behind in the car that would set off a motion detector. Just wondering how sensitive it is. Could it be possible that someone casting a shadow walking by set it off?
Thanks again,
DonL

Hi DonLew. My thoughts on, “Could it be possible that someone casting a shadow walking by set it off?”
I would not think so, since it is an interior motion detector.

However again … I have no verification. Sorry about that. Perhaps another member will be able to offer more.

Keep us updated and good luck.

This is correct.
