2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

Just wanted to update…day 30, no update on parts. Filed the lemon law paperwork and hoping for a refund!
I sincerely hope they do you right.

They took great care of us and our return and new purchase. Hopefully they do the same for you!

Did you have to go lemon law route, or did they just do the right thing? Did you get any incentive to purchase another Lincoln?

Yes, lemon law was the one of the two options we ended up taking. Heavily incentivized, but not required, to purchase another Lincoln.

My repurchase was successfully concluded, and I was paid in full on 7/5. I must say both Lincoln corporate and the retailer were a pleasure to work with. Good luck to everyone!

What are you going to buy?

How long did that take? Car was at dealer to paid in full? We just hit 31 days.

Hopefully not. Although this is a sh*tty situation for you, it seems that Lincoln has been pretty responsive on the "re-aquisition" front. Good luck to you.

Btw, by my count, you're the 17th member here to report a catastrophic engine failure due to bad fuel injectors. All but two of the others happened after only a couple days or weeks, and at or before the 200 mile-ish mark. I think the two exceptions were around 1200 and 2400 miles (others here will correct me if that's wrong). You're the first to report a failure at 4000 miles, which is a bit of a bummer since I think most Hybrid owners are hoping they're in the clear after the 1000-mile mark or so. Again, good luck. Keep us posted.

Oh, I should mention . . . for the majority of us that have not had any mechanical issues, this is a great, great vehicle. Hopefully, once you get past this sh*t show, you'll discover how good it is!
Hey thanks for your reply and just

Hey thank you for your reply, and just an update on my engine issue, after month my engine was replaced and it appears to be working fine. However, I’m keeping an eagle sharp eye on it. They also replaced my rear shocks as apparently there is a recall out on that as well (although I didn’t notice anything wrong) but I just noticed that the plastic panel above my trailer hitch wasn’t popped back into place right. I understand that’s a dealership and mechanic issue but spending over 70k it shouldn’t be!

Overall I absolutely freaking LOVE my truck and I’m willing to stick beside it. After driving the loaner while my truck was being repaired I realized just how special my vehicle is. I’m really rooting for Lincoln and always have. I’ve never own a vehicle that boosted my confidence and self esteem like this before! I think it’s love 💕

I received the initial response from Lincoln to buy back my Nautilus. Will they call with an incentive to repurchase? How long from initial resolution letter to final pay out?

The identical problem is present on my 2024 Hybrid Nautilus Reserve II as well. The vehicle was purchased on a Saturday, and a service engine light illuminated on Tuesday morning. That evening, around 5:00 p.m., while attempting to accelerate at a stop light, the vehicle begins to tremble and emit a clicking sound; the rearview mirror reveals an abundance of white smoke. Upon stopping and opening the hood, I noticed what appeared to be oil stain drops on top of the engine. The vehicle has only 150 miles on the odometer.

Are the broken injectors the root source of the problem, or are there other issues that may be present? I don't have high hopes for the problem being resolved; was it overpressure that broke the injectors, or was there another mechanical issue? If the injector broke and the tip wound up in the cylinder, would the tip have damaged the cylinders?

Update on my vehicle. Regrettably, the vehicle began emitting an unusual noise. I am extremely disappointed with the vehicle and have decided to classify it as a lemon. I have received a full refund. Unfortunately, I have also experienced a financial loss, as I traded in a previous vehicle, the MKX, which was of superior quality and was not manufactured in china.

Ford has also agreed to buy back my lemon, which has died and towed twice. After receiving the initial Letter, how long until final payment? We uploaded the required documents 5 days ago.

I have been cautious to be so excited about my Nautilus R2 after reading issues on this forum … and just like that 1 week to the day, 301 miles … I feel the power reduce as I take off from a light .. and a message pops up about a powertrain malfunction and reduced power .. “service needed soon”. Anyone else??
What did the problem turn out to be?

Just fyi ... in case it may apply if you experience the 'lag' or loss of power. My dealer came to pick up my car while I was at work yesterday, dropping off a loaner car so they could figure out the issue [engine light, powertrain warning and details about issue with turbocharger]. Within a few hours, they determined that a vacuum tube was not securely fastened and caused the issue with the turbocharger. I am getting the car delivered back to me today. Hoping this fixes it!

My fuel injectors failed June 2. All 4 needed to be replaced and were back ordered for more than 4 weeks. Once replaced they couldn't figure out why the hybrid battery wouldn't charge. Brought in their specialist team who decided it needs a new engine. My car is a 2024 and has 3000 miles. I haven't had it for 2 months. Lincoln has given me a loaner and I'm pleased that their service assistant and Lincoln concierge have called most weeks. But my question is, do I request a new vehicle? I paid 65k and loved the car while I had it but am I just looking at more problems? It lost a half tank of gas when the injectors went. Did the leaking gas damage anything else? Ive seen on this forum that my Carfax will include the injector relacement and now a replacement engine. Anyone have any advice? Thanks.

I’d be fighting for a new car.

This is so strange. After Lincoln went through the trouble to push seed stock of injectors to dealers that had hybrids and then all of a sudden out of stock you wonder what happened. I would have assumed there were plenty of injectors at other dealers. Judging from comments here since I do not think there was a general rush (dealers or owners) to get them replaced except for us on the forums.

I 1000% agree with the other posters here. I'd want a new car. And I think they'll give you one.

Why do you want to risk issues caused by a Lincoln service department installing a new engine?

1) I have a bad vibration seen mainly in passenger seat at various speeds. Is now causing a rattle in that seat.
2) "Slip", "shudder", "clunk" type of feeling when accelerating from dead stop. Was told Friday this doesn't seem concerning to them. Doesn't feel normal to me.
3) Injector replacement. That went fine I assume. No problems before or after injector replacement.
4) Software updates due to continual reboots, gremlins. Was told Friday to "keep an eye on things and bring it back if I have problems".
5) Brakes. There is no fix as yet, but I have made it known that I don't like the fact my $68K car sounds like an old Chevy pickup.

I had a heart-to-heart with the service manager and a service "fixer" -- both recommend I see if things get worse before proceeding to next steps. My car was on it's best behavior Friday and some of the issues didn't show up or show up as bad as I have had up to then. I guess I will wait and see.
Did you ever solve your vibration issue? I took an 11 hour drive yesterday and experienced vibration throughout the cabin, prominent in the passenger seat. I’ve had the tires balanced a few times, but I suspect they may be bad.

What brand tires do you have? If they balanced them they should have spotted many tires issues.
