2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

I would call the Concierge back and request a buy back since you have been without your vehicle for that long. I have a buy-back that has been approved for my Corsair. We are just waiting on my Nautilus to get delivered.

When I requested the buy back they were very responsive and I had an answer in a much shorter time frame than they quoted.
You are both so right, as generally the Concierge is a great resource for us as Lincoln consumers.....but, it can be subjective as to the individual that you get on the first call. Have had both levels of "caring" during 3 cases now and the difference can be quite glaring.

But, having just opened a buy back case yesterday, at the recommendation of our sales & service managers, on ours (awaiting Lincoln "review and what are our options" conversation due next week) and Ms. Terry was awesome and very helpful with listening, reviewing cases, and helping me understand the whole process and timing. Fingers crossed as we wait and see.

My dealer is sticking to that "recommended" not "required" line. Ticks me off. The CSP is very clear. My salesman says they have the parts and if I put a deposit on the one I want that he'll get the replacement made.
Although I don't like the gun-to-your-head approach, I don't think you have anything to lose. If they have the car you want and they know you won't take delivery until all the CSPs are cleared, you'll be ok. Make sure they write that on the sales agreement and make sure you know all the CSPs that are open for your model.

They have about 18 hybrids in stock and they will not update any of them until someone makes them, really.

I'm going in today to see one that's on the CSP list but has all the options I want. I can reserve it and they'll have it fixed by the end of next week. We'll be out of town until then anyway.

I was going to wait for the new arrivals, but the ship is a long way from port. He said it was off the coast of Japan now. I have a $2000 Lincoln discount if I buy before July 7th and I don't want to lose that money.
Squeak loud enough and program headquarters will issue you another private offer if and when that one expires.

What drove the buyback? I thought you had the injector replacement, wasn't aware you had other major items.

Been in the shop almost more than our garage. They are not able to fix the brakes and Lincoln won't let them The dealership recommended proceeding forward with a buy back, so here we are.

Is it the front brakes, where there's an SSM but not a published fix yet?

It is not the promised SSM Q3 fix problem. Front and rear brakes grind and squeek at the end of braking cycles. The dealer has several customers with the same complaint and several of the employees cars as well. It started at around 900 miles, barely notice it if you didn't have your windows or sunroof open. Has been getting worse and can hear it with all the time now and pedestrians even turn and look now. According to the concierge rep., it is another known problem and they are doing diagnostics now. According to sales rep., Lincoln had the same symptoms with a previous Navigator and they ended up fixing it by replacing pad with ceramic ones. I cannot find any documentation that states what material they are using on the Nautilus's, or if they are different between ICE & Hybrid powertrain models. 3 general types of pads: Organic; semi-metallic; ceramic. Ceramic have several better qualities: lower noise level; less dust; more reliable in wider range of temps. and conditions.

Supposed to hear back from Lincoln next week about what option(s), if any, we have to choose from.

My Dealer had a commitment from an out of state buyer, so they cleared all the CSPs, but the buyer fell through. I could go with that one, it's the right color, etc. But I'm headed out of town for 5 days. I figure I'll pick one when I get back. It's not like they are super scarce here or anything.

I too am a victim of the 24 nautilus/hybrid fuel injector recall!🥺 I had just made it to work when my check engine light came on. After working a 12 hr shift I attempted to drive it back home and it started to shake rattle and roll! Had to be tolled to a local dealership where they gave me the news 😭. Fortunately I was given a loaner, although it’s an older Corsair premier.

Does anyone know how long it will take them to fix this issue? I just got word today that the fuel injector broke off into piston so I need a new freaking motor! Has anyone else been through this and came out on the other side? I ordered mine last march as soon as it was available to, I really love my truck, this was the first brand new car I ever bought so I kinda bummed.

See if they can give you images from the bore scope inspection. Or at least a description of the damage.

NaughtyBoy (you're really making me type that, huh?), welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, you're in good company here. Can you tell us how long you had the car and how many miles you had driven when the fuel injector issue happened?

As far as repairs go, unless things have changed over the last short while, it'll take longer to get a new engine installed than most states' lemon law time frame. I think many here with the same problem have reached out to Lincoln's re-acquisition group and are arranging full-price buy-backs. Or you can work within the scope of your lemon law. Afterall, why do you want a brand-new car with an engine that's been replaced by your dealer's service department??

(Lol, Say my name). I bought my vehicle in late March in Franklin Tennessee, since then I’ve moved to Maryland near Baltimore. I have under 4K miles on it. I’m still exploring my options moving forward. The dealership said they are waiting to hear from Lincoln. Something tells me this is only the beginning of a Freddy Krueger, nightmare!

Hopefully not. Although this is a sh*tty situation for you, it seems that Lincoln has been pretty responsive on the "re-aquisition" front. Good luck to you.

Btw, by my count, you're the 17th member here to report a catastrophic engine failure due to bad fuel injectors. All but two of the others happened after only a couple days or weeks, and at or before the 200 mile-ish mark. I think the two exceptions were around 1200 and 2400 miles (others here will correct me if that's wrong). You're the first to report a failure at 4000 miles, which is a bit of a bummer since I think most Hybrid owners are hoping they're in the clear after the 1000-mile mark or so. Again, good luck. Keep us posted.

Oh, I should mention . . . for the majority of us that have not had any mechanical issues, this is a great, great vehicle. Hopefully, once you get past this sh*t show, you'll discover how good it is!

I've run across 2300 and 3000 mile failure reports too, IIRC, though at least one of those may have originally appeared on FB.

Either way, many of the failures we've heard of may have been fairly early, but they can still occur with higher mileage on vehicles without the fix applied.

And my service advisor had previously tried to minimize my concerns after I took the vehicle and learned more about the issue. He tried to tell me the issues only happen in the first 0-100 miles. I actually sent him several links and copies of postings until my eventual injector replacement at 800 miles.

And I too love my Nautilus and have had very minimal issues.

I believe they hoped most would be early fails but there are fails later at a lower rate that they had less data about. They are likely to be optimistic. Let's hope these are exact same root cause and not a second variant.

Just a little data for you guys. Fords dual injection system will use the port injectors for idle and low RPM operation and the direct injectors for heavy throttle/load. 3000miles for one owner might have very low utilization of the high pressure injectors vs someone who drives more aggressively.

Finally had delivery of my 24 Nautilus R2 yesterday- after waiting weeks for the dealership to receive the car and then a couple more weeks to fix the injector recall. I really love this car but am so fearful other things will pop up. Should I confirm the brakes issue was fixed before my delivery? I am spending today trying to read everything to learn and get the settings the way I want them. But .. of course I have no full owners manual, only supplemental.. so I’ll rely on the online version. However, quick question for you all. While at the dealership- both key fobs sitting on salesman’s desk … my car parked in front - the rear lights kept lighting - I believe the approach lights. We asked and he said sometimes they do that when you’re close with the key … well, the key is on your desk … no one moving them. Do I have to keep the keys far away while at home? I’m concerned it could cause a battery issue? Thoughts?
