2023 Corsair subwoofer delete alternatives

Hey everyone,
I just purchased a 23 Corsair Reserve II. Does anyone have either links to the parts to add the subwoofer back or an after market solution that still looks factory. I need some bass but not sure what is needed to add this without affecting the cars ANC system.

Speaker Assembly - Ford (LJ7Z-18808-AB). Not sure if the amp is built into this or not. Can you check and see if you have a harness to the blank? How many wires are in that harness? More than 2? Then likely this p/n is powered.

Alright, so I ordered both the Subwoofer and the Amplifier. My wife has a 2024 Corsair Reserve II. Subwoofer delete not on the window sticker, and the woofer appears to be installed already, but I have also read people saying its not a real speaker. I'll be checking to see if the factory amplifier is currently installed or not, and if not, installing it and seeing if it enables the subwoofer. If not, Ill swap the subwoofer with the new one. Either way, we shall get to the bottom of this. Also, it seems pretty easy to access. Ill grab the details in the next post.

Ok...so heres the results. Can you add the factory subwoofer option back to a 23-25? TLDR: Yes. But its a bit of work.

So, the wife has a 2024 Corsair Reserve II. Upon removing the rear panels, the subwoofer assembly installed was hollowed out. Fake speaker cone to appease the NHTSA. The Amplifier was also hollowed out due to the chip shortage. Good news is, the wiring was all there. Another thing we needed to source was the DSP. (Mind you all parts must be a non-Revel Audio part!). Now the fun begins.

Swap the fake sub for the real one (sourced from a 2021 Corsair Reserve)
Swap the Amplifier for a real one (sourced same vehicle)
Obtain a DSP (Digital Signal processor) from another Corsair or in my case I had to order one from the parts counter as they are surprisingly hard to find and used is priced almost the same as new).

Use motorcraftservice.com/asbuilt and punch in a VIN from 2020-2021 to get the needed as built data to program it with FORScan and configure it to run.

Again use the above link to reprogram the ACM to enable the pins to the DSP so it all works.

All in all, about $850 total to do if you DIY. Most dealerships will not do this for you. But can confirm, 2024 Corsair Reserve II now has a working factory sub.

Reasoning behind this, I guess due to the pandemic induced chip shortage the lower tier Corsairs and Escapes got subwoofer deletes to help sell the B&O and Revel Audio systems as well as relieving supply chain restraints and backing up on deliveries.

Hope this helps.

Also one more thing. No you cannot just add the amp like mentioned in this thread earlier. A fake speaker isnt just going to magically get a coil and start working. Sorry, but that statement was false. The Bronco Sport, Escape, Corsair are all in the same boat with the hollowed out subs.

Could you fix mine for me??? Lol

Saludos.

I just went to Ebay, and searched for "Lincoln Corsair Subwoofer" and "Lincoln Corsair Amplifier" and the DSP I couldn't find for a reasonable price used so I purchased a new one from the dealership using a 2021 Corsair VIN from one on their lot. But even if you found a used DSP that was programmed already (it would be as it was already installed in another vehicle) and hooked it all up, it still would not work without reprogramming your ACM to enable the terminals to turn on the wiring. I just used the same VIN to get the data for turning the feature on. But all wiring was present on hers, and should be for all Corsairs since its integral to the entire body harness (which should be the same across the board)

So, how does it sound? Was it a noticeable difference worth the time and effort?

So, how does it sound? Was it a noticeable difference worth the time and effort?
Absolutely. It sounds much better than it used to. It sounds IMHO just like the 2020-2022 Corsairs do before they deleted the woofer.

TBH it always sounded really clear and crisp but had no low end oomf. Now it sounds just as it did before but with a full range of sound.

So, I think I've found the subwoofer and amplifier to fit my 2023 GTII, but I'm stumped on the DSP. You wouldn't happen to have a part number, would you?

I don't off the top of my head. It can also depend on wiring. Depending on what options your vehicle has the wiring can be different. You might not need it. Have you pulled both panels yet? Some (especially Premiere or Standard) dont have as many speakers. Therefore a DSP isnt needed. The Reserve Trims are tricky. Depending how its optioned and year and what Reserve level you have it can be different. Id pull the cargo area walls off and check. Some said they only needed the amp. My wifes needed the sub itself, amp and DSP. You may only need one or two or all items. Its best to check first.

Thanks for getting back to me, that all makes sense. I haven't yet pulled the panel(s), waiting for some nicer weather and proper motivation. I'll post back with some pictures after digging into it.

How can I program after installing the subwoofer amplifier or does it work directly? I bought a subwoofer amplifier from the factory. Do I need a DSP and what does it look like? Can you please attach pictures? I have a Corsair 2023, the beginning of production.

I went to Crutchfield and there are many options for under seat and/or in spare tire systems. Its one of those things...It might interfere with the ANC ....... i dug and dug for the parts to "reinstall" the "delete" and came up short every time.

You will need to physically look and see what you are missing. Some require a DSP some do not. As far as the amplifier goes, you should at least have a dummy installed. Youll want to pull it out and make sure before just throwing parts at it. Some vehicles have a dummy subwoofer and good amp, some have dummy amps and good subwoofers, some have DSPs, some do not. Some have dummy equipment across the board. You need to physically check what your vehicle was equipped with first, then order what you need, then install it. If you do not need a DSP (the wiring will either be there or it wont) you shouldnt need to reprogram anything since the amp and woofer dont contain programmable modules. It should be plug and play.

Hope this helps.

PS: To actually answer the question, if you DO need the DSP (It WILL need to be programmed if it wasnt a used unit from a salvage yard) you can use free programs to do this such as FORScan or paid versions like FDRS.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have just bought a subwoofer. This week I will disassemble the trim, although I am afraid that something might break while removing it. I will install a subwoofer, and I hope it will work without needing a DSP.

Hi Abdullah119. Since I am not sure where you are located and what the weather is like, a word of advice: Cold plastic is not forgiving and can be quite brittle. And interior panels can be rather expensive to replace if broken.

So…as much as you want to get this installation completed (as I would too)…if it is still cold where you are, it may be a good idea to wait until the weather is warm and the interior of the vehicle can heat up nicely. The warmer the better.

Whatever you decide to do, keep us updated and good luck.
