2022 Navigator

Hi ksh. When you state "Invoice" are you referring to the true Invoice price, or the MSRP/Window Sticker Price? They are two very different things.

The short story as to why I ask is: Absent any Manufacturer Incentives/Rebates, very few (i.e. very very few) Dealers of any manufacturer are selling vehicles at Invoice pricing, let alone "below Invoice". This is due to pandemic induced low supply, and high demand.

When buying off the lot nowadays, expect to pay MSRP/Window sticker or above (again, before any manufacturer Incentives/rebates). Factory ordering can get you MSRP/Window sticker or perhaps a little below (again, before any manufacturer Incentives/rebates), if you are a good negotiator and the Dealer is incentivized to sell.

If you are lucky enough to know a Ford Employee or work for a Ford Partner Company and can qualify for an X-Plan PIN, that will get you a little above Invoice price.

Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, so it never hurts to ask and try to negotiate as low as you can.

Hopefully another member here will be able to recommend a Dealer willing to negotiate a price that is acceptable to you.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
Thanks for the detailed reply bbf!

I don't have any experience with Lincoln, but I know some manufacturers (BMW, Mercedes, etc) will often sell cars at Invoice pricing (true Invoice pricing) if you can find the right dealer. I've bought and leased a few BMWs over the years, for example, and have a dealer I always use (he's in CA and I live in IL so I pay for shipping unless I'm picking it up from the BMW Delivery Center in NC and make a road trip out of it). He always gives me Invoice pricing (sometimes below, depending on incentives) so I was wondering if Lincoln had similar dealers.

Also, I realize that this current market might be tough for those deals now (we're not considering a BMW this time so I haven't spoken to my dealer to see if he can still do Invoice pricing).

I got an email from Fair Oaks last week for $1000 off MSRP on custom orders. I'm not in the market since I got my Nav in April.
I visited them not too long ago. They are doing a "dealer markup" of $5k b/c of high demand, which I thought was BS so I walked right out.

Do you like your Lincoln dealership / agent near you, Black Label?

I will say that the $5k "markup" are dealer add-ons fro dealer stock. Ceramic and the protective film. Otherwise, if they say $1000 off MSRP, I would imagine that is what they do. But, I agree, I would not even pay MSRP, so any dealer not willing to go below that will not get my bidness. I am not desperate.

I live near Ogden Lincoln. I have purchased 2 Navs, one on buyback recently. I didn't use Ogden either time, so you can surmise my thoughts on their Sales Department.

Would you mind sharing who you did use? Or if you prefer, can you PM it to me? Thanks in advance!

I used Fox in 2020 and Fair Oaks this last time. Maybe Ogden is better now, who knows? But, one thing is for sure, Ogden could have the best Sales Dept in IL, but is still a shabby building that has been under perpetual "remodeling" for, I hear, about 10 years. It's ugly and not befitting the Lincoln name IMO. I feel dirty sitting in there when I go for my free Black Label car washes. So, I usually walk across the street and get something to eat instead.

I am sure X-plan benefits can be had in more than one way.

And as a benefit for joining the Lincoln & Continental Owners Club (LCOC) the X-plan becimes available as a benefit of membership

Hi Action. Yes, there is more than one way to obtain an X-Plan PIN. There are the ways we mentioned already, such as: Obtaining an X-Plan PIN from a Ford Employee or being a Ford Partner Company Employee, which I mentioned.
Or membership in the LCOC, which you mentioned.

Then there is membership in the MCA (Mustang Club of America). Also an experimental model plane flying club whose name escapes me at the moment. And a few other "Clubs", etc. etc.
Owners of Ford stock also used to be able to obtain an X-Plan PIN, but that perk has been eliminated by Ford.

For those interested in joining the LCOC, MCA and other applicable clubs in order to obtain an X-Plan PIN...Keep in mind that there is normally a waiting period of at least 90 days after joining, before you can register for/obtain an X-Plan PIN.

Good luck.

Hi ksh. Yes, it was easy in pre-pandemic times to obtain Invoice pricing and below for a vehicle purchase. That was true of models from Lincoln., BMW and nearly every other auto manufacturer. Anything and everything that was not some sort of high demand, Limited Edition model.

However, that has all changed right now. At least until things return to some semblance of "normal".

Now keep in mind I am not saying it is impossible to find that sort of pricing now. It is simply much harder, and will usually take more work, perseverance and a willingness to negotiate back and forth with multiple Dealers, in order to obtain that sort of "Invoice or below" price now.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Sorry I should’ve clarified. Yes we’re looking for a custom order as we don’t need it until Jan/Feb, although we’re flexible if something comes available earlier. Do you mind sharing those dealers with me? You can PM me if you’d prefer.
Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong and I might be way off here, but I think if you ordered a Navigator today you are looking easily at 8-10 months as it seems people who have order in November and December of last year are just receiving theirs or will be soon and the chip shortage has not gotten any better???

Depending on build options and configuration, yes it’s very possible to wait that long but there have been others who have already received theirs and it didn’t take 8-10 months.

Ok, so it sounds like if you don't get too picky about what you order it can definitely com in sooner.

Do you think the sales people know what can delay an order or is it just a matter of something becoming in short supply as everything is being manufactured?

It changes as supply chain issues arise. Massaging seats, rear seat entertainment, and black interior have all been known to delay builds but that’s not the exhaustive list.

Hi 2021Navigator. Hopefully this will make sense: Yes, the pandemic has caused long waits for vehicles. Far longer than pre-pandemic waits, which were as short as <8 weeks.

However, a factor to keep in mind when stating that people who ordered in November/December (or mid-late October) of 2021, is that while the 2022 model Order Bank opened on 10/13/21, production of the 2022 models did not begin until 3 months later, on 1/18/22.
Therefore while it was possible to order a 2022 Navigator in mid-late October/November/December of last year, the 2022 Navigator was not even being built until mid January of this year.

So as an example...Yes, someone who ordered early November of last year and received their Navigator in May of 2022 may have "waited" ~6 months from order to delivery, 3 of those months were before the 2022 was even being built.

I totally understand it does not make it any easier for buyers who are waiting now. And current waiting times are still long. However, it puts some of the waiting for those who ordered earlier into some context.

Hope everyone gets their ordered vehicles as soon as possible, and good luck.

I initially received my Built and Shipped email on 5/30 with an eta of Mid June. I just received my 4th delay email yesterday pushing it to 8/4 -8/11. I asked my salesperson and he states it is just awaiting personnel to be able to ship it from KY to NC. They wont let me hire a truck to go get it either(didn't figure they would). First world problems for sure, but I just want my new ride.

My wife told me this morning she was talking to a coworker who ordered a Toyota Highlander. Expected wait is 9 months.

It is everywhere, folks.

I expected the wait for the building of the vehicle, not so much on the shipping part.

I heard that the order time for a Toyota Siena minivan is pushing close to a year.

I believe in the case where micro chips are holding up production some manufactures have a edge up as they have somehow secured a quicker chip delivery or like I believe Tesla is, they are "making their own" and are using the latest advanced chips not the older ones like the big 3 here in the US are.

I would guess the wait from other manufacturers is a shipping issue as well. Maybe not, who knows. That wasn't my point.

Thanks bbf and everyone else too! This forum is awesome and I can see why the community has such a great reputation.

I was able to find someone (not local) who is willing to do true invoice pricing. I am getting a proposal from him later today and then I will crunch the numbers with the MF/RV I have for July. As for delivery, my local dealership is telling me 4-5 months and this other non-local dealer is telling me 3-4 months. So it *seems* to be improving.

This is for a Navigator Reserve, Standard Wheelbase, 4WD by the way.
