Thanks for the detailed reply bbf!Hi ksh. When you state "Invoice" are you referring to the true Invoice price, or the MSRP/Window Sticker Price? They are two very different things.
The short story as to why I ask is: Absent any Manufacturer Incentives/Rebates, very few (i.e. very very few) Dealers of any manufacturer are selling vehicles at Invoice pricing, let alone "below Invoice". This is due to pandemic induced low supply, and high demand.
When buying off the lot nowadays, expect to pay MSRP/Window sticker or above (again, before any manufacturer Incentives/rebates). Factory ordering can get you MSRP/Window sticker or perhaps a little below (again, before any manufacturer Incentives/rebates), if you are a good negotiator and the Dealer is incentivized to sell.
If you are lucky enough to know a Ford Employee or work for a Ford Partner Company and can qualify for an X-Plan PIN, that will get you a little above Invoice price.
Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, so it never hurts to ask and try to negotiate as low as you can.
Hopefully another member here will be able to recommend a Dealer willing to negotiate a price that is acceptable to you.
Let us know how you make out and good luck.
I don't have any experience with Lincoln, but I know some manufacturers (BMW, Mercedes, etc) will often sell cars at Invoice pricing (true Invoice pricing) if you can find the right dealer. I've bought and leased a few BMWs over the years, for example, and have a dealer I always use (he's in CA and I live in IL so I pay for shipping unless I'm picking it up from the BMW Delivery Center in NC and make a road trip out of it). He always gives me Invoice pricing (sometimes below, depending on incentives) so I was wondering if Lincoln had similar dealers.
Also, I realize that this current market might be tough for those deals now (we're not considering a BMW this time so I haven't spoken to my dealer to see if he can still do Invoice pricing).
