“Night” Display Background Bug - Sync Screen Not Changing to Night Mode

I had same issue, my display was set to auto change day/night for over year. Then past months at night it was not changing to night dark mode so screen is blaring like a search light in your face.
I just set mine to full time night mode (no auto) and so far solves issue.
I have 2022 Model....June 2022... THIS is what it does. Goes full bright when I go out at night..in my face. Have had to take to dealer now twice.....He says it is part of Back Up Camera Module RECALL ..that has been issued twice also.
I just got it back second time.,...after a week of no car...a second time. Hope this fixes it. But not my Phone as Key will not work ..again. Lincoln has issues. But mechanically,...the way car drives...it is a winner. So I tolerate this . But the way Lincoln treats software screw ups is concerning. They need to treat them same as mechanical screw ups and fix at dealer...or with updates...as Tesla does. Not by handing back to owner and say "do the recommended Lincoln re install proceedure and that will fix it ",..which is how they keep dealing with my issues. This really angers me ... Seems the dealer are now in war with factory and resent being forced to deal with all of these software recalls and issues. Of the entire first year warranty for my 2022...Aviator...I have lost 2 months down time in a dealers shop now....most of which without loaner car. No excuse for this !

Strange things....my nite mode started working many months ago..I was happy. I brought my 2020 corsair in for oil change and a problem with leaky struts and an unbalanced drive shaft. After picking up the SUV nite mode stopprd working again....what is going on?
Maybe post in the Corsair forum, not Aviator? (unless do they actually have the exact same head unit?)

This is supposed to fix this issue. I have my 2023 scheduled for service end of this month to have this done. As I have had this issue occur a few times

SSM 51338 2020-2023 Aviator - Center Display Screen Will Not Shift To Night Mode Or Lines On Center Display Screen With Multi Color Or Rainbow Hue

Some 2020-2023 Aviator vehicles may exhibit a concern where the center display screen will not shift to night mode or has lines on the center display screen with multi color or rainbow hue. This may be due to accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software. To correct the condition, run the APIM-SYNC Module (APIM) Standard Programming application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 14G371 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Did this fix the issue?

I'm guessing that you haven't received your 2023 Aviator yet. Just wanted to let you know that I have had mine since Oct. 2nd and have not had the stated issue. The latest Sync version V3.4 23188 also corrected several issues that members were having with their 2023 Aviators.

so our 23 does this occasionally. I have discovered how to reproduce it, basically if I start the Aviator, and put it in gear at night before the screen fully boots, it will do it. However I have also discovered if I toggle it to neutral then back to drive it will cause night mode to kick in.

I have received my '23 and it does this almost every time I start it. That's why I'm asking. I'm just loading the latest update now. Will see if that fixes it.

Are you on the latest Sync V3.4 23188?
On my 2020 Aviator when it didn't go to night mode I simply hit the dash brightness button and that solved the issue.

Same issue. I think it's in fact a safety issue as that screen is pretty dang bright and distracting at night. Considering selling my 2020 aviator because of this unacceptable bug. Anyone know if the 2023/24's have this same issue? Assuming new google-based '25's won't but ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had this happen for the first time on my 2023 Reserve ( built in Feb 23') a couple days ago. I am running the latest Sync software update. I believe I got it switched by adjusting the screen brightness on the lower left of the dash, but not exactly sure what I did. Glad to know others have had this issue and the most likely way to quickly solve the issue when it happens.

Have you read through this entire thread?

Same daytime bright at nite prob here, but mine is intermittent, regardless of visor position. With muscle memory, I have learned to crank it down a notch or two with the dimmer/brightener switch on the lower left part of the dash, right next to the door. In the winter I have the glass roof uncovered and a streetlight probably triggers the daytime bright mode. Simple fix, but I agree it should not be a prob for a Lincoln.
