Open Letter to Lincoln - How I'd Improve the Nautilus

I recently test drove the Nautilus Reserve III 2024 at the local Lincoln and loved it. Especially the park assist feature in regular and parallel park mode. By the time I went through the process, the 2024 was sold and they only had a 2025. I bought the car, now I just learnt that the park assist feature is no longer there in the 2025 Nautilus Reserve III. You have all the cameras and sensors AND the Park assist button on the center console. Could you please issue a software update to enable that feature. That was really a selling point and I am not sure why this was removed when it is such a common feature in other comparable luxury brands. Hope you can listen and implement this

It was previously reported by a high ranking Ford Executive said this feature was on their cost reduction list due to its infreqent use. All these features and automations are not private and their usage data is available to the company when you agree to their privacy policy. The company knows the speed, route, time, braking, etc. for every minute the car is in use. Companies know when and where BlueCruise and other features are engaged. This data is frequently used in accident investigations and subpoened in legal cases. Now with the Google Automotive System even more data will be available including every place you have searched and the route taken.
The company's conclusion is that since the self-park feature was rather rarely used, it would be deleted from nearly all Ford and Lincoln models. I have had this feature on my last several Lincolns and have used it only a few times. A check of the 2024 and 2025 Order Guides indicates Active Park Assist 2.0 has been deleted from all Nautilus models for 2025, but is not listed under the product changes for 2025. It if makes you feel any better, the vaunted Rejuvenate Feature was never made available for 2024, even as a software update, but is still shown as available on the 2025 Reserve 203 and Black Label. Again, a feature I doubt I would use much at all.

I have had many problems with my early built (October 2023) Black Label. It has spent many days in the shop. I sure hope all those fixes to the software, front brakes, rear shocks, and other items have been incorporated into the 2025. Good luck!

Would like to see the capability of the remote start to interface with either the Homelink garage door opener or an app like MyQ to have the option of opening the garage door upon starting the vehicle to avoid buildup of CO2 in the garage.

You could do this before and likely still can but we need to find the lincolnway shortcuts. I had it all working for my Ford but Lincoln uses different URLs. I had apple shortcuts that triggered home controls. Needed to come up with exemptions so the door wouldn't open when I remote start it at work lol.

Please add support for waze on the top screen, currently only apple maps work with the carplay setup which is not at all useful in my region (UAE, Dubai)
Also it would be great to add support for Google Assisted Services in the GCC region (UAE, Dubai).

Unfortunately, the park assist feature has been permanently deleted and will likely not be returned.

• Ford's COO, Kumar Galhotra, said that the feature was not very popular and that the company could save money by removing it.

I wonder how many dealers ever demo'ed it. In my playing with it, it was finicky and you have to drive past the spot so if you are on busy road, etc. it seemed inconvenient.

You'll hopefully have less issues with your 2025 compared to many 2024 owners.

We have the same spec as you with hybrid and have so far been very happy. (Knock on wood)

2025 loses
Heated viso wipers
Backrest storage
Patk assist

But adds
-Software/hardware improvements across the board on day 1 that seems to have addressed all 2024 bugs/issues (shocks, battery drain, injectors, touch lock sensitivity, infotainment system, etc.). Saves you a lot of time at dealership and keeps the honeymoon phase going!
-Rejuvenate working
-4 years of connectivity service vs. 1 year on 2024

One feature would love to see added as a software update would be automated seat temp option. I believe the new aviator is getting this option. Would love to put seat heat and cooling on auto.

I think a new drive mode for 2024 and beyond Nautilus vehicles would be beneficial. I suggest something called Firm (or whatever you think best). This mode would provide the same steering and suspension feel as the current Excite mode. However, it would differ from Excite in that it will not change the engine response/performance. That is, keep engine response/performance the same as Normal model.

The advantages of this are as follows:

1. Provides a new feature for customers, generating a bit more customer satisfaction
2. Gives drivers a more controlled feeling while providing the same fuel economy as Normal mode
3. It would be very low cost to develop and deploy
4. It would eliminate the "rumble or chuckle" rear shock noise that remains for many for the Reserve and Black Label customers that you all have been struggling with.
5. This may allow you to close out the open tickets for the above issue and move onto other enhancements.
6. A small price to pay for the troubles the 2024 model year Nautilus customer have endured

Please consider this.

Aside from the fixes we all know/hope are likely coming

* Memory Passenger seat
* ventilated rear seat option
* Power or manual privacy shades for rear windows
* tilt down side mirrors when in reverse
* Side camera display in 48" screen when turn signal is active
* Dynamic handling option including aluminum control arms, air ride, body stiffening and wider tires
* New smaller key fob or jaguar style bracelet option (I also like the geneses style finger print to start)
* More ambient lighting with dynamic/moving color

I agree with every one of these items listed and would add the following:
- Drivers assist handle on the "A" pillar.
- Easy Exit function that actually retracts both the seat and the steering wheel fully back.
- Fog lights as I live in a very dense fog area just south of a major swamp, so mornings are frequently heavy fog.
- Make the overhead console mini spot lights switchable to off, they are very annoying at night.
- Also the console light in the cupholder needs to match the ambient light color setting, if you can do this on an F150 it surely can be done on a Lincoln.
- Tachometer for the Hybrid model as well as the non-Hybrid. (My Kia Sportage Hybrid has a tach, but not on a Lincoln?)
- Analog style gauge option for the speedometer and tach on the main display, again something the Kia offers.
- Noise reducing rear door and quarter glass, not just the front windows as when a large truck passes (or being passed) it sounds like the window is open in the rear.
- Better carpet than the ultra cheap felt being used now that has less pile than a pool table. Again, even my Kia has better quality carpet than this Lincoln.
- Floor mats that do not show a wear pattern after only a few hundred miles. Another extremely cheap item in a $70K vehicle.
- As the original poster mentioned, passenger memory seat especially with the 24 way active motion seats as it becomes very difficult to get a seat back to the same position when it gets changed for another passenger.

The shock issue on the 2024 is ridiculous.
Going in for a third time.
Lincoln Engineering should be embarrassed especially with the road vibrating through the steering wheel and seats and the cabin road noise, so much for the “Treat yourself to a whisper-quiet interior”

Good luck with the rear shock issue. I had mine replaced 3 times, still noisy. I am. sure you all are tired of hearing me complain. Please let me know what they do and how successful it turns out.
