Open Letter to Lincoln - How I'd Improve the Aviator

How the heck did you permanently disable the auto start/stop?!!! I HATE that nonsense, please share so i can disable mine…..when i get it back from the shop that is! Lincoln, are you listening, auto start stop is stupid and pisses off most of us “older demographic” drivers.
Welcome to the Forum. 👋
It can be disabled by installing a Start/Stop Eliminator and also, I believe, using FORScan although it seems Ford has wised up to that and made it more difficult to accomplish.

see my prior post on Forscan programming. Quite easy and wonderfully effective. See post #8

Built in wireless for Android Auto as the 23 Nautilus has? It is befuddling that a 23 Aviator BL would not have it when a Nautilus Reserve does.
The settings for drive type ie Excite/Normal/Conserve should remain where they were last set. I like to use Conserve exclusively for the most part.

Unless you're doing a lot of stop and go driving, I don't know how much that setting would actually save in fuel costs. The odd time that I go into the city and encounter heavy stop and go traffic, I never remember to change the drive type.

A full hybrid not the lame plugin. Give it 5-600 mile range. Stop. You’re good.
MAYBE another optional ICE powertrain? Or figure out how to get 30~ish out of the current one.
Make it RELIABLE. Go back check, recheck and check again all systems and do your damn best to get it right before consumer gets it.
Full hybrid not the plugin would be great and get rid of the holes in the exhaust system. I would buy one!

"holes in the exhaust system" ????

Offer more interior choices than those offered for 2025. Bring back a beige offering likd the Sandstone and how about a Cherry Red-light burgundy option. Maybe a navy blue/creme like the Genesis GV80.

Also re-design to make the 3rd row with slightly more legroom.

Don't change the sloping top design that makes the Aviator so good looking.
If they would offer the color combination of a silver exterior and a Cherry Red-light burgundy interior like you mentioned it would get me back to the dealer looking.

And how could I have forgotten this incredible three row SUV fubar. In the order I’ve owned: Murano Platinum, Hylander Platinum Hybrid, Palisade Limited, GV70 Advance, ALL have security shade that covers the ENTIRE back storage area even with third row down. I’ll never use the third row but need the space for work…and I can’t cover whatever is in the back including $2000 of golf equipment? WTF…so someone walking by looks in the back and wonders what’s in those boxes? And bashes out the rear glass to have at it!

DUMB AS HECK 😤
I agree. What I did was buy a couple of the black blankets from Harbor Freight for about $5.00 each. Any time I have something in the back it gets covered. Someone walking by and looking in to vehicles will just see a black cargo area.

I think the poster is commenting on how the exhaust on the Aviator really doesn't exit through the exhaust tips. It exits through a hole just before the tips.
Mine exit through the 2 chrome pipes on each side.*

*I have a Borla exhaust installed. It's not the louder one so unless I am accelerating hard like when getting on the Interstate, one can't hear it. Admittedly it was more expensive than drilling holes in the mufflers like I did back in the 60's!!

For OEM vehicles this is definitely a good idea as exhaust gasses always seem to carbon up straight tips. Most don't make this modification to their OEM exhaust systems.

Lincoln... You need to add a MUTE button to our radio controls. I'm shocked there doesn't seem to be one. Remember there was one on my 2020 Explorer ST.

Hi gang. What inmanlanier and EcoBrick Bob said about the faux exhaust ports/tips.
And there are actually very good reasons for them. Those reasons include aesthetics/more styling freedom, ease of exhaust replacement/fitment, etc.
The ease of exhaust fitment/replacement is especially helpful for owners that hold onto their vehicles longer.

And for those who would rather have exposed tips, we can always modify the ports/rear fascia, then extend the tips with custom extensions so they are exposed.

For those interested, take a look here: faux exhaust ports/tips - Google Search

Good luck.

I believe there is a missed opportunity with no option to pause/mute from the steering wheel controls or dashboard audio menu. Instead you have to go into a sub menu on the infotainment display to pause, which feels like an unnecessary step.

I've also noticed on my grand touring that the days of the week don't match... When I am choosing the departure times the week starts with Monday, then on the overview screen the week starts with Sunday. Not sure whether I'm scheduling Monday through Friday or Sunday through Thursday.

There is no such mute feature on the 2025 Reserve either.

Memory seat function for the front passenger (controlled by the key fob) just like the driver's seat would be a great addition. Otherwise, 3 1/2 years of ownership and I still absolutely LOVE this vehicle!!!

Bring back the remote start acknowledgement (LED) on the keyfob.

Lincoln executives have been watching this community for years. They've also made improvements to their vehicles based upon what they've read here. They are listening to you.

This discussion will serve as a quick and easy way for Lincoln executives to gauge interest and help make decisions moving forward.

As am Aviator driver, you should state exactly what you'd like to see enhanced, added, and/or omitted from your Lincoln Aviator.

Any posts that don't stick to the subject matter will be moved elsewhere.
For the price of the vehicle it should have a washer for the rear camera. My 2018 explorer cost half the amount of my 24 Aviator BL and had better features.
