What did you pay for your new Lincoln Nautilus?

What is Xplan?
Like an employee discount plan, but X-Plan is a lesser discount plan offered to Friends or Neighbors of employees, employees of Partner Companies or organizations, etc. A popular option for those that aren't affiliated with Ford at all is to join the Mustang Club or EAA, after which you get X-Plan privileges after 90 days.

If you search on here, @bbf2530 had some long descriptions of the various plans as well as documents with rules and application processes.

What is Xplan?
Hi MBE. Here is a basic explanation: Ford X-Plan (a.k.a. Ford Friends and Neighbors Plan, Ford Partner Company X-Plan etc.), is a fixed price purchase plan available through Ford for friends and neighbors of Ford Employees, employees of Ford Partner Companies, and also members of some Car and other types of clubs (i.e. Mustang Club of America, EAA etc.)

It offers fixed/no negotiations pricing, which can be very helpful for those who hate or are not good at negotiating their new car prices.
It gives a fixed price calculation, limits “Documentation Fees” (a Dealer additional fee/money-maker), other Dealer price packing etc.

Accepting X-Plan deals is up to individual Dealer discretion, but most Dealers will accept it, especially on special orders.

While it is sometimes/often possible to negotiate a lower price than X-Plan on some vehicles, Ford X-Plan is a good deal for many buyers.

That pretty much covers the basics. Feel free to ask any questions and we can answer them for you. Or at least try. 😉

EDIT- I was typing at the same time as swindler, but they are a faster typer, plus I was called away mid-typing of my reply. 🤓😂

Good luck.

That's okay. I knew you would provide a more comprehensive answer. I even hesitated. 😄

What is Xplan?
It's a friends and neighbor discount. Biggest advantage is paperwork costs are dictated by Ford. There is no haggling. The price is also dictated by Ford.

X-Plan, originally for EXECUTIVES of Ford suppliers, but has morphed into any friend of a Ford employee. The employee/retiree can provide/sponsor an X-Plan PIN number to just about anyone. Each employee/retiree has a fixed number of PINs they can give out each calendar year. The X-Plan discount is not as good as the employee pricing (A-Plan) or retiree pricing (Z-Plan), but still a discount off MSRP and on top of any other Ford or Lincoln vehicle and regional incentives which any salesman can view what's available in VINCINT (VIN Incentives).

Breaking News: Just noted that X-Plan is being offered to anyone whose vehicle was lost in the two recent hurricanes when many vehicles were flooded beyond salvage.

That's commendable. Good for Ford. 👏

I'm reminded that New Jersey dealers were selling just about any car you could imagine for $500 after Hurricane Sandy. I had to keep beating down my teenager who wanted to drive out there to pick up a GTR. 😄

X-Plan has also morphed into a discount for just about any employee or retiree of Ford partner companies. I am retired from a large company that did business with Ford and I was by no means an executive. The X-Plan program was published on our internal benefits website for all employees to leverage. I used the program pricing when I bought my Nautilus in March. At that time, all dealers wanted to charge full MSRP. I got my Black Label for just under $5k off MSRP thanks to X-Plan pricing. I really liked knowing what the price would be before I even contacted the dealer and I liked that the "documentation fee" was also another fixed/known price.

Agreed. I had one Lincoln dealer by me that wanted to charge for tint, Lojack, something else, about $2K total and wasn't wavering. With the X-Plan, they're not allowed to have DIO that are not agreed upon by the customer.

I’ve owned a few thousand shares of Ford Motor Co (F) common stock for a few years and it used to be that stockholders got to buy on the X-Plan. But, from what I read in this thread — the X plan is no big deal. It’s a discount on the base configuration of the car and not the options. Everyone knows that dealers have a higher markup on options and one has to pay full MSRP on options?

Now the Z-Plan seems a better angle, but perhaps reserved for retirees of Ford. Don’t know. Try to buy at the end of a month especially end of the year and I bet the dealer would be generous to get the sale booked.

Well first off, as you say it's not a great discount. Some on here negotiated a much better discount without any plan. I think it depends on the dealer. But the X-plan is available to virtually anybody. The partner program list of eligible companies goes on forever. Many might be eligible and not even know it.

Also, my X-Plan pricing had discounts on every line item, including options, for whatever that's worth. They even discounted my discounts! My Smile State discount was reduced.

Regardless, I'm sure you could do better on your own.

Not sure what a Smile State is.

Tried to delete this as I googled Smile State. Not in one of those storm battered states fortunately. I’m in a state that will fall off into the Pacific someday. :(

For whatever reason, Lincoln offered a $1500 discount to the lower southern states, from California to the Carolinas (not sure exactly all the states). If you look at the map of them, it forms a smile.

I'm not sure any rationale was given. I personally think it's just because Lincoln is less popular in the South than it is in the North.

Hi SUVer. The information you heard is incorrect.
The X-Plan price is discounted off the Invoice price of the vehicle, including all factory options.
It also limits “Dicumentation Fees” to $100. A savings of at least several hundred dollars at most dealerships. In addition, most publicly available Incentives and Rebates are also available to X-Plan buyers.

While it is sometimes possible to negotiate a better price than X-Plan, it all depends on the vehicle and many other variables. So when shopping, obtain the best negotiated deal, then compare it to X-Plan (if available to the buyer) and make a decision.

On the other hand, A-Plan/Z-Plan/D-Plan are for current Ford employees/Retirees/qualifying Dealership employees (respectively), along with specific immediate family members only. Those Plans offer a virtually unbeatable pricing structure.

Hope this information helps and good luck. 🍻

If there was a place to live that would avoid all the possible cataclysmic outcomes, we'd all live there. Instead, we're spread across the planet in the hope that someone, anyone, survives.

Because I work at Ford (26 years) I get the A-Plan pricing for myself and immediate family members, only 3 per year.
A-Plan took an astounding 9k off MSRP. As someone who regularly uses my A-Plan I was completely blown away at that amount off.
Very few Ford/Lincoln cars come with that kind of A-Plan discount.
MSRP on my Reserve ll hybrid was 67,750

New here and look forward to learning and sharing.
