Customer Satisfaction Program 24B54 - Certain 2024 Model Year Nautilus - Update Infotainment Software

I'm ok with a major bug fix release. It's what I wanted and what I expected. Enhancements will be nice-to-haves after the system works as originally intended. But I've not yet read about one bug fix. Hopefully, I'm just impatient.
The fact that we aren't hearing about any bugs is good. So maybe the update DID work! Fingers crossed. Mine goes in Wednesday for the update.

There was only one report of anything happening after the update and it was the dead battery syndrone.

In fairness, this example also done mobile, which the update specifically called against.

I am out of town visiting my dad this week and called local dealer and they will do it today mobile. This will include window fix. They said they prefer mobile for software since it does not get tied up in shop process.⁹

I got my car back yesterday evening after a dead battery. They tested the battery and determined it was bad. (I never had any issues prior). Were able to update the software, do the window recall, and do the ABS update for battery drain. Yesterday driving to get pizza I did notice:

1. I can now turn off brake coach and it stays off, same with "ask on exit" for the motion sensors.
2. The blinker sound is different.
3. The reverse - dimming glitch did not happen.
4. There's a small sub-menu when tapping on your bluetooth device on the homescreen to turn on or off carplay.
5. There's now an ETA on the upper screen in Google Maps, no more looking down.
6. It's overall much snappier.

Thanks. Snappier how? The responsiveness of the infotainment system?

Thanks

So, I got my car back this morning after the software update. My guess is that in general, it's going to be a disappointment to many of us, but there certainly are some bug fixes. Here's what I've noticed after playing around for about 20 minutes. If you'd like me to check other things, let me know. I'm in Florida, hunkering down for a couple days!
  • The most noticeable improvement is that both screens are brighter. They appear to be sharper as well, but resolution is a hardware thing, so my guess is that it's the brightness that's making the big difference. And I haven't noticed the deadly self-dimming screen since I got the car back.
  • A lot of the graphics have minor improvements, again helping to make the displays look clearer and brighter.
  • The Auto climate control appears to be remembering the last setting, so I don't have to play with that every time I enter the car.
  • I switch to Excite mode every time I start the car. It usually takes two to four presses of the Drive Mode button to get the center display from the CarPlay screen to the Drive Mode screen. That's not the case anymore. However, the drive mode does not advance with each press of the Drive Mode button, nor is does the systems ask whether you want to switch to the last Drive Mode on startup, both functions that are in the manual.
  • Google Maps in the 48" display is now showing ETA and time and distance to destination when nav is active. That's a really big plus for me.
  • The SXM display in the 48" display now shows the new SXM logo (bfd), but still does not display the station name, only the station number. Wtf?
  • Ya, there's the coolant temp display toggle in Vehicle Settings now. Why's that?
  • There are no new or updated widgets for the 48" display. Speaking of which, my weather display has not updated in five days. I assumed the software update would fix the problem. It did not. I asked the service department to disconnect and reconnect the battery to see if that fixed the problem, but no dice. I believe others have had this problem. Is there a fix? It's very annoying looking at last Saturday night's weather all the time!
  • My auto-fold mirrors no longer work when I lock the car. :(
Mixed bag of results. My service guy told me the next big release is expected "in the new year." Whatever that means. I'll test things out for others over the next few days if you'd like. Good luck to everyone on the Florida west coast.

Hi hinckley. Stay safe! Hope you evacuated if you were in the projected path!

Good luck!

Mobile guy arrived and left after one update would not initiate when he plugged in the usb connection. The window fix and gateway module got updated. He said the last car took 3 hrs to start the process (recognize usb and start download)on same code package This was the largest code package. I will get the rest done when I get back.

Keep an eye on your battery. I think mine did the same thing on mobile before it died. The dealer said it failed 4 times then followed a separate TSB 24-7076 to get it to go through.

I could swear I saw on the official notice from Lincoln announcing this update that it stated it was not to be performed by mobile service technicians. Maybe I saw something else.

When I've seen this (only for a short time period once), the car's "Modem and Internet" was not working. The Modem and Internet option disappeared entirely from the Settings menu. I believe the weather app updates based upon data it downloads from the internet via the car's cellular modem. Maybe check to see if that menu option is still there for you. Mine came back the next day after I let the car sit overnight.

Thank you. In the Settings menu, I have Network & Internet. In that menu, I have Vehicle Connectivity, which is toggled on, and Wi-Fi, which shows the car is connected to my home network.

Yea, I realized later that your maps wouldn’t be updating either if your cellular connection was out. I’m out of ideas. I assume you removed the applet and re-added it so you could re-answer the “share location?” Question?

I have not. Is it possible to delete and re-add a widget?
I don’t think so. But if you move another app into its screen location and then put it back, doesn’t it re-ask that question? I thought it did.

Got ours back this evening and drove home 12 miles from dealership. Had the 24B54, 24P22 ABS battery drain and 24C24B driver and passenger module update. Battery was also tested and passed ( we have had no battery low warnings). Our only software issues has been radio reset 3 times and once the map to be reset. Everything seems in order as all presets for me and wife still the same as when we dropped off the Nautilus. Happy to have ours back.
