2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

For those using battery maintainers, I am curious about what voltages you see (battery not connected to maintainer, etc). If you have a noco you can use the LED status (red, steady green, pulsing green, slow pulsing green).

I can help you with that. NOCO genius does not display battery voltage, but I can tell you what my AGM battery is doing after NOCO charge, and while sitting unused with the usual parasitic draws usurping the battery. Stay tuned!

I have posted this in other threads, but my '22 Nav had these issues. It was not the battery. I still have the factory battery installed after having all the same issues here of deep sleep mode, vehicle not starting, etc.

My dealer reprogrammed the Body Control Module over a year ago, and I have never had any issues again. Does everyone around here really think these batteries just drain and die for no reason? Please have your dealers pull their heads out and check the BCMs for reprogramming or re-flashing, whatever they want to call it.

Agreed!
This seems to be an issue with the 2024's, and I really believe FoMoCo has to manage battery functions more carefully. I also question the state of charge these batteries may have been delivered to some folks...an issue FoMoCo addressed in pre-delivery checks!

As for me, I rarely use my Naut, during the winter and long periods of no use, I keep my NOCO handy....I like to keep a battery at a healthy state of charge before it becomes an issue!

I am getting a new DVM that has a bluetooth interface to log voltage. I noticed while the noco was steady green the voltage dropped to almost 12.5v before went back into charge mode.

Thinking about installing something like this.

Just installed an Ancel BM300 Pro today and it has a pretty good UI and BT connection. Also installed the Noco Genius 5 cabling directly to the battery in the cargo bay. State of charge was 42% at 14:30 and 100% at 23:30.

I bought the same unit during Prime Day as it was a good price. I've tested it inside the house, but not on the vehicle yet.

What was starting and ending voltage?

Not in a big rush, I went for one via Ali. 15 day delivery expected. $21 incl. NY taxes.

I use PayPal for them, have done multiple specialty item orders over the years without a problem.

I was out of town for a few days. When I left the battery voltage was 12.6v and this morning it ways 12.02v so dropped a lot for just sitting. I do not have the drain CSP applied yet.

Great price. I should have thought of that. I buy from there all the time. I got it for $44, about $11 off Amazon's regular price.

I still haven't installed it. I cracked it open and am going to rewire it with an SAE 2-pin. Not absolutely necessary, but I do that with all my automotive equipment.

FYI, here's the board (much smaller than the case, btw).

I just experienced a computer malfunction on my brand new 2024 Nautilus! The display and many other functions such as indicator lights, Air condition, Cruise Control and etc. were disabled. On the big display, only the park brake LED was on and on small LCD, only lincoln sign was flashing. It was still possible to drive the vehicle, but many functions and features were disabled.
I had to reset the battery to reboot the system. It is recovered now but some features are still disabled. As an example the map is no longer loaded automatically to big screen, unless you search for a location. The cruise control set function does not always shown. Auto brake function is also disabled!
Is there someone who experienced similar issue?

Is your battery fully charged?

I can’t say I’ve ever experienced anything like this. Are you using your profile and if so, is it properly set up? Also, have you received any alerts in your Lincoln app? Have you run a vehicle health report?

How would the Ancel BM300 Pro work with a Hybrid … the u-tube videos and User Manual seem to be oriented to regular ICE (with crank test, etc)?

Crank test would not apply. It merely tracks voltage and estimates state-of-charge based on voltage. You can specify AGM in the setup so presumably the SoC is reasonable. The reasons I got it was that it logs voltages that can be retrieved later, it has minimal graphing on the app, but data can also be exported to Excel. You can also set a threshold such that if the voltage drops below you'll get a notification, but I presume you have to be BT connected to get it.

Actually, I think a better solution would be one with it's own shunt resistor so you can monitor current draw as well. But this was on sale at the time.
