2024 delivery schedule

The Countess is now at Richmond, hopefully for a short stay.
The Countess was initially expected to arrive in Portland today, but still sits anchored in San Francisco Bay as it has for the last four days. Also, she no longer appears on the arrival schedule for Portland. I still think she'll get there, but who knows when?

I know, I have been watching… the VinView did give a range of 2/14-2/20 for Portland, so if my vehicle is indeed on this ship it will likely be closer to the 20th. This morning I saw a tug boat, bearcat (still there), next to the Countess, so I am hoping the Countess will be on her way soon. This really is the slow boat from China! I do hope the wait for a rail car isn’t as ridiculously long as those who’ve been sitting for a month in Portland.

How are you able to tell the next stop? I can’t seem to find where it will be going once it leaves SF.

We can't see where a ship is going next until the ship reports it's new destination via the AIS feed and is underway. But some of the ports will list a schedule of expected arrivals. Glovis Countess was on the expected arrival list for Portland, but is no longer.

Ok, I didn’t realize that… ugh! I hope this isn’t some extra delay, this ship already spent extra time in China and Korea and now the same here in the states. I am hoping it will be on the move again today since the tug boat is next to it. Thanks for checking up on the ship, I always appreciate the updates and info… it’s a long road waiting for our cars.

Yep. No ship ever has a direct path from Shanghai to Portland, so some amount of delay is inevitable. Tracking the ships as we do at least allows us to recognize those delays and temper our expectations.

😂 That’s true, even though it’s a long wait it is nice to have something to track. I am assuming my car is on that ship, the one thing that I have question about is that it doesn’t show Shanghai on the ports, but definitely in the area, at least from what I can see. Is that common? Does it have to say Shanghai to be the correct vessel? I know you all have been doing this longer.

That's a challenge we have, in that the websites are often delayed, limited, or just absent all the information. It took me a bit of hunting to find a feed that reported that GC was at Shanghai on the 17th. Why it doesn't appear on all websites I can't explain. Perhaps it has to do with the manner in which they populate their data.

I just got a call from my dealer today and he said that my car was just loaded onto a boat and is going to be leaving soon for Portland. But he didn't send me a vin view screenshot when I asked. And then my Lincoln order track page didn't update either. And my Window Sticker still is not available. But he did tell me to expect delivery around late March.

So then do ships leave once a day or once every couple days with the Nautilus's since they don't hold boats.
Your Lincoln tracking page should update when your car is loaded onto a ship. Maybe not the exact day but within 24-48 hours is what we've seen. I don't think we've seen anybody who was loaded onto a ship that didn't have an updated last status date. Our sticker came available about one week after it was actually loaded on a ship but only at the ford direct site not through the lincoln site.

The ships with Nautilus are reportedly every two weeks +/-. We've seen one ship make a fairly direct voyage which was a Chinese vessel, the Jiuyang Blossom which was the second ship. (And I think it actually made one stop along the way). Everything else has stopped one or sometimes 8 times. Then we've started seeing delays at American ports where the ships sit at anchor or divert to another port to unload first.

Blossom stopped at two ports in Korea, but that's about the most direct we've had.

I read in Ford Authority last night that order status updates occur when the vehicle is physically scanned for logistics tracking. That makes some sense as it would be scanned for every platform transition, but they may not scan the vehicles until a day or two after it boards/unloads, especially with a couple of thousand to process.

In any case, I would not expect more than a week to pass by and not have a status update on the Lincoln tracker. We've simply not seen that. I think max has been over a weekend.

I was surprised (and wrong), but I looked back and both Platinum Ray and Jiuyang Blossom had four intermediate stops. Different paths, but four each.

I thought Platinum Ray had 8?

I just remember the Jiuyang Blossom since it was a big deal in the Chinese media. There were videos of Nautilus being loaded onto the vessel.

Lol. I'm wrong again. Platinum Ray had three stops. Two stops in Korea and a stop in China. It was one of two ships I was tracking before we had any VINView tracks or knew about order status updates. We weren't even sure Shanghai was the departure port. There's posts deep in this thread when I first saw it turn and head to Portland. That was our first confirmed ship.

I got confirmation from the dealer today that the vehicle is on rail, expected 3/2-3/8. The one thing that always frustrates me is that my dealer doesn't seem to know how to zoom in, even though I repeatedly ask that he does.

If an RS Q8 is actually an obtainable/reasonable vehicle for you I'm surprised your first pick is the Lincoln. The Audi is double the price and targeted at a completely different consumer. Double the HP, Half the fuel economy and easily twice as rare.
The reason I chose Lincoln was because I have already owned an Audi before I wanted a car I have never owed before. And that was Lincoln so this was going to be my trail with Lincoln. But if they take too long then I don't want to. The Audi is double the price, but that's more along the budget of what I was planning to buy until I came across the Nautilus. I just think it looks cool and I have never driven Lincoln before why not give it a shot.

If you ever get tired of one of your trial cars, you can just leave it in my driveway… 😁

I ask for the status dates but I never get it. I just figure the dealer is useless.

Its really a shame the consumer doesnt have access to this info! Every time i request a vinview i get the smallest little pic from my dealer. Had no clue all this other info was available.

I got the railcar info too on a separate email. I tried the CSX line for location and it said it was in Birmingham, AL as of 1/10. I tried the Norfolk Southern line and it said it was in Utah as of 12/15. Maybe these are showing the last place it was when they had possession of it?

BNSF requires an account to use their tracking tools. I could pay for access to the feed through a third party, but it's not worth the fees they charge.
