It's whatever now I know for the future. My car is coming in 1 month anyway and then in the future I'll think twice before ordering a car through them now.

Again, if you get it in one month you'll be beating people whose vehicles were built in November. I think you're at least 2 months out.

Take the full screenshot of VINView that @Lars5457 posted today and send that to your dealer via email or text as an example of what VINView is. He should recognize the application.

I'm curious. Is there another way for the dealer to see that it's 'on the water' besides VINView? @Vishan says his dealer doesn't know what VINView is, so he's apparently referencing something else.

The only other thing we have is the old system that simply shows ‘in transit’ with location updates. VinView is far more better.

Yea I'll ask him. I just texted him he probably won't respond til after the vehicle comes but I just tried texting him.

As I called it. I texted him and the salesman both, I have their iPhone numbers it shows they both read it but neither or them decided to respond so I'm guessing they just don't want to respond.

Everybody has a boss even if it's the owner of the dealership. When you call and get the receptionist. ask to speak to the highest ranking guy at the dealership. You can do your homework and go to their website and see who all the top brass are. That way when you call you know who to ask for. Then I would spill the beans on their crappy staff and what all you have encountered trying to get answers.

I just got a VinView update today by going into the dealership. I am posting info for anyone who has dates close to mine. Build date (hybrid) 12/25, ship date 1/6, update 1/17 (this reflects being loaded on ship) - ETA for Portland 2/14-2/20. I am trying to research and figure out the ship it’s on… maybe Glovis Countess??? I am new to trying to figure this all out so I may be way off base but am trying to narrow it down. If anyone has an insight or tips please let me know. Thanks… can’t wait to get the car!

Yes, that's Glovis Countess. It departed Shanghai on the 17th and matches this track very well. The one issue is that VINView shows it heading to Portland, but the ship is headed to Richmond (SF). I'm guessing it'll head to Portland afterwards. So I doubt it will land by 2/14.

Yes, that's Glovis Countess. It departed Shanghai on the 17th and matches this track very well. The one issue is that VINView shows it heading to Portland, but the ship is headed to Richmond (SF). I'm guessing it'll head to Portland afterwards. So I doubt it will land by 2/14.

Thanks for the information! I agree, the 14th isn’t likely to work since it’s scheduled for Richmond on the 12th, but if there are no other stops I do think it should land prior to the end of the range which is the 20th. I’d rather them leave it in Richmond, it’s closer. . I am just happy it will be in the US and on land soon, then begins the rail car waiting game.

The two attachments, what exactly are they?
I think the first one with the map of the ship and dotted lines is the VinView. But I'm not sure what the second one is. What is it called and did it come from the dealer as well?

Just checked my order status. It went from 1/31 to 2/10. I’m going to guess it’s off the rail car and waiting for a truck transport. Dealer said last week it was due to them 2/16 so looking good right now.

Chicago area. Large railroad hub obviously. My last update was 1/31 so if we can assume that was the date the car was loaded to rail, we are looking at about a 10 day trip to Chicago.

They printed out the screen for me and that is how the print out looked, the one over the ocean was just a pic I took of the screen.
