MY2023 Aviator Order Timeline Tracking thread

I posted a few months ago and thought I would give an update. We ordered 2023 Aviator Reserve 1 201A Black with Black interior on April 4, 2022, confirmation April 7, 2022. Luxury package. We've had no recent emails from Lincoln and when we talk to the dealership they told us they'd like to tell us it might come in a couple of months but more than likely it would be longer. Obviously a year into this process we are quite disappointed, especially when we are seeing others' Aviators being built that were just ordered in the last couple of months. So last week we decided to move on and replace our 2016 Escalade with a 2022 Escalade Sport. Good luck to everyone that is still waiting!

Disappointing, but sounds more like a dealership issue. This is exactly why I chose a dealer a little farther away because they are opening up a new Lincoln only dealership this month so I figured I would get proper service. Maybe they sold your car out from underneath of you and don't want to admit their mistake?

Maybe.... they would have gotten more for it now than what they would have had to have honored for us from a year ago.

I don't recall anyone ever having to wait almost a year for a Reserve. It seems like 4-5 months is the time frame. Even the BLGT which seems to take the longest comes in at around 7 months or so. You should have been speaking with the Lincoln Concierge instead of the dealer.

03-20-2023 Received email status update to SHIPPED.... but it's stating transit times vary from 12 - 28 days! I hope it's not that long. In Charlotte NC, hopefully we'll get this before our long trip in early April.
We called the dealership to check on the shipment status. Our rep didn't even know about it. Forgot we even ordered back in August 22.

But said when the vehicles arrive at the dealership, it should only take 1-2 days to process and sell to us. We'll see.

Just spoke with a concierge -- who was super nice but ultimately could not provide any update other than "your car is built and in Michigan." He was surprised our dealer had so little information on the status of our Aviator. He was sympathetic to our frustration but admitted there was little they could do. We'll be at seven (7) months on Sunday since we ordered the car.

Finally got a VIN and a Build Date of April 5th. Ordered on Oct. 31st. Reserve 201A with Illumination Package (Luxury & Elements Packages are standard) and All-Weather floor liners.

Hi gibby. Yes, that Lincoln Concierge representative is correct. Whether due to lack of training (by the Dealership), laziness, or plain old incompetence, the underlying cause of this is Dealership Sales office/personnel/management not doing their job.

The Dealership Sales office has all of the same Order/Scheduling/Production information available as Lincoln itself has. Even more so than Lincoln Concierge.
Although I often receommned calling Lincoln Concierge for help 9as a last resort), the truth is Lincoln Concierge does not generally have easy access to the entire Scheduling system like Dealerships do, and is really a last resort for when the Dealership is not doing their job.

And this is generally due to the fact that the main job of Lincoln Concierge is to help Lincoln vehicle owners, as opposed to those waiting for a Lincoln to be built and delivered. So while Lincoln Concierge can help up to a point, it is the individual Dealerships who are supposed to provide their customers with up to date scheduling/delivery information. That means our Salesperson, the Dealership Sales Manager, etc.

This even applies to when we have service issues. The Dealership Service Department/staff needs to do their job properly so that we don't need to go to Lincoln Concierge for more assistance. Hopefully...LOL.

Hope you get your vehicle soon, and good luck.

Thanks! Pretty frustrating to see aviators with blend dates (by at least a month) after ours on the website as being in stock while we wait for our custom build that necessitated a deposit.

The fact that you ordered it with running boards likely added to the overall build delay. No deposit was required by the dealer. The 2023 will be the 5th vehicle I've leased from them. With a 'Build Date' of April 5th, it will be interesting to see when it is actually delivered.

Kind of funny when "chips" are blamed for all production delays! That said, its been built for over a month waiting to ship. Our dealer required a $1000 deposit.

Once the vehicle has been built and is ready for shipping, I believe the manufacturer has no further control over it. It now is up to the transportation sector.

Hi gang. Another point (or points) to keep in mind: "Produced"/"In-Production"...and "Built"...mean two different things.

Generally speaking, "Built" means completely finished and ready for shipment.
On the other hand, "Produced"/"In-Production" usually means it is now in assembly, or it can also mean it has rolled off the assembly line but is not necessarily "Built", finished and ready for shipment. These are often the cases where vehicles are in a holding area, waiting for computer chips and/or some other part/commodity to arrive and be installed before the vehicle can be shipped.

And while it is all extremely frustrating, Lincoln/Ford (and every other automaker) want to get our ordered vehicles to us as much as we want our vehicle to get here. After all, they lose money every day that a vehicle can not be finished due to a parts shortage, or sits undelivered due to transportation issues.

Not making excuses, only trying to explain some current realities, in the hopes it helps some of us who are waiting feel just a bit better and less frustrated.

Hope everyone gets their vehicles as soon as possible and good luck. 🍻
