So i recently reserved a standard trim 2020 corsair from a third party dealer who's bought it from the ford/lincoln dealership directly (I've called and verified that the car is indeed brand new and purchased from them).
A few days ago i was there assessing the car. I pop open the hood and lo and behold the engine is without an appearance cover. The employees at the dealership claim they don't know how that is. I told them to open the hood of another 2020 standard corsair (which was already also sold) and i did infact see the cover there.
I did some digging around and saw some reviews on youtube. The 2021 corsairs (or at least some of the ones i saw reviews of) had no engine covers, yet aa of the 2020 reviews had them.
Any idea why this might be? I read on some forum somewhere that all corsairs produced after june 2020 came without the engine cover due to supply chain issues, but i wasn't able to verify that. If anyone has any idea/can point me to some official lincoln documentation as to why this may be, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Picked up my 2022 Corsair last week. No engine appearance cover. The dealership manager told me that they no longer come with one. We checked with the the Parts Mgr and he isn’t able to order one, not available. He checked with the Service Mgr and was told the Nautilus cover doesn’t fit the Corsair either. No available cover that they know of that fits. Anyone know how to get one or if the Ford Escape cover fits?

If the 2022 Corsair 2.0T engine is the same as 2021, then your dealer provided poor service information, or worse, Lincoln is insisting they don't help customers who prefer to add the cover themselves.

I posted last year a list of the parts you need that are perhaps intentionally hard to locate. My own dealer had trouble finding them, and I had to actually take the parts guy on the lot so we could look at the Nautilus engine cover.

All you will need to do is confirm the engine is the same as the 2021, and you're ready to go. Check the attachment which has all the details. The post last year was #107 if you want to look at the history here. There are also pictures and website URLs. I just remembered I posted this again just a few weeks ago. Take a look at page 12, post #225. Easier to find than 107.

Good luck!!
Eric

Framing the question may be needed.

If you ask the parts guy for an engine cover (or what ever Ford names it) for a 2022 model, the parts guy is gonna to come back with not available. Because the cover is not available for that year. That person is looking up based on year make and model.
If you give them a previous year the answer will be yes and the order will be placed without any fasteners. (Assuming fasteners are wanted/needed to make the job work) And since the engine is a factor, the engine from a previous year has to be the same as the year you have,

As weird as this sounds, you are modifying or customizing your vehicle. The parts guys only have OEM parts based on the way the company built the vehicle. That part was not made for a 2022 or 23.
So the order has to be placed for a year and/or year and model that has the cover. Parts guys do not have interchange books. Only computers that bring up the part number based on data that was entered.

A guess on my part as to what happened when Car-guy28 was at the dealership.

Go to previous posts on this thread. Listed are the parts numbers. I ordered the parts listed from my dealer through fordparts.com. for my 22. While looking up the parts, check various dealers as they charge different prices. My dealer happened to be the cheapest. Received the parts in 2 days.

can you tell me what part # did you use for the cover? K2GE6A949BD doesn’t seem to be available anymore. I do find Part # K2GZ6A949B which is the ‘19-‘21 Nautilus cover for the same engine. Thank you!

That was the part ordered and received that fits perfectly. The other number has the same basic digits which match the parts diagram callout: 6A949 so that seems like it should also work...

Thanks Eric, most appreciated. I guess I’ll try the Nautilus cover, it looks the same and I would think Lincoln would use the same cover on both the Corsair and Nautilus as the engine is the same. Similar digits are also used for the Escape, Edge, etc but that cover has the Ford logo on it. They all probably fit the same.

Jeepgrady, do you know what part # you used that fit your 2022 Corsair Standard? Thanks

Cover # K2GZ6A949B
Thank you, I just ordered that same part #. It comes up K2GZ6A949B now instead of the old part # K2GE-6A949-BD when you enter the old part # for ordering it online.

Same with the 2021 Navigator...no engine cover. Did some research and the 2020 Navigator engine cover fits the 2021 Navigator. If you have a 2021 Nav. and want the engine cover the part number is JL7Z-6A949-B. You have to ask the parts manager to also order the 2 nuts required. They won't be included unless you order them. Cost for the cover is $112. The two nuts are $8. I have to wonder who the genius is at Lincoln that decided not to continue with the cover. We buy a $100,000 SUV and they can't put on a $112 part which probably cost them $20. Ridiculous.

I currently have a 2019 MKC coming off lease and my 2022 Corsair was shipped from Lincoln yesterday. Can I move the cover from my 2019 2.0 to fit my 2022 2.0? After reading this thread it seems that this is a common part used for a while across several models, but thought I would ask straight out if anyone knows for sure.

Just installed the cover on my 22. Super easy. Took longer to find the proper socket. Thanks to those who did the homework to search and list the appropriate parts.
Hi and sorry if this has been asked/ answered, but how many bolts connect the cover to the engine? It sounds like it was really easy for you. Is there a diagram that shows how to install it?

Super easy. Took longer to find the correct size wrench than the job. Look further back on this thread to get the correct part nimbers.. only a few fasteners required.

Thanks for all the help on this thread! Got mine installed today using the parts listed in this forum. It looks so much better and the engine sounds quieter.

That's not the point. For those who do, it looks unfinished.
Exactly, the engine bay looks totally unfinished. Got our 2022 Nautilus with a 2.5 and putting an appearance cover on it.

Wow! Is it just the 2.5 or did they stop installing it on the smaller engine as well? I think Lincoln must have forgotten already how they restored their reputation in the marketplace after losing so much share to the imports...
